Customer Ratings & Reviews

I upgraded to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D for my new gaming PC, and it has been one of the best upgrades I’ve made. Installation was quick, and it worked perfectly with my AM5 motherboard after updating the BIOS. Gaming performance has been outstanding. Frame rates are consistently high, gameplay feels incredibly smooth, and the processor handles demanding games without breaking a sweat. It also stays responsive while multitasking, whether I’m gaming, browsing, or running other applications in the background. I was also impressed with how power-efficient it is for the level of performance it delivers. Paired with a good air cooler, temperatures have remained well under control during long gaming sessions. The only thing to keep in mind is that this processor doesn’t include a stock cooler, so you’ll need to purchase one separately. Aside from that, I have no complaints. Overall, this CPU has exceeded my expectations. If your main focus is gaming and you want top-tier performance on the AM5 platform, I highly recommend the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

The speed is brutal, I changed my old R5 9600X for this CPU and the performance is in another level. I running this CPU with a 5070ti, and 32 RAM DDR5 CL30 memory. My PC handles all games so well, and this CPU helped me to reduce the slutter in games like Fortnite, no man's sky, star citizen which demands a lot of processing this CPU handles it with no issues

Amazing processor, beyond impressed! I had a 7800x3d so the gains arent as massive coming from a different processor but where this excels in an upgrade is the temps, 1% lows, single core performance and overall productivoty upgrades. I went from 67c gaming to 54c. Hogwarts legacy i would have 1% low dips below 60fps at 3440x1440p with an RTX 4090. This would cause stuttering, especially in the castle. This has aleviated that and dips arent below 80 now. This processor has been exactly what all the reviewers are praising. If you have the cash this should be your next cpu if your a gamer and want the best of the best!

Its an excellent cpu, fantastic speeds, if youre gaming i couldnt reccomend anything better. Im using this with an nvidia msi 5080 and i can play anything at extremely high refresh rates. And for cpu heavy games this is unbeatable. I purchase it while it was on sale, but i would have even at regular price.

One of many parts to my new build that runs smooth, fast, quiet, and cool.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Excellent Gaming CPU With Huge Performance. This processor has been a major upgrade for my gaming PC. Games feel very smooth, load times are quick, and overall system performance is fast and responsive. The 3D V-Cache makes a noticeable difference in gaming, especially in demanding titles. Installation was straightforward on an AM5 motherboard, and performance has been excellent so far. Highly recommend for anyone building or upgrading a gaming-focused desktop.

This CPU is an absolute beast! upgraded from a 7500F, and oh man, the difference is really nice, specially when you go lower graphics. Overclocked to 5.35 MHz, and curved optimized it, with motherboard power limits. didn't go over 85 Celsius on a full load for over 30 minutes on a 240mm aio. 64GB of Ram Clocked at 6000MHz CL30. cinebench R23 score was 23773. which for me, is way more than enough. if you have a chance to grab one, and you have minimun a 4070 Super. you won't regret it.

This is a super fast processor, great use for pushing those high fps modes in both 4k and below. You can also use slower cheaper Cl Timing ram as it does not need access to data that often.

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is simply outstanding for gaming. The 3D V-Cache makes a huge difference in competitive titles like CS2 and Warzone, delivering high and stable FPS. Beyond gaming, it also handles daily tasks and productivity very well, with efficient power usage and good temps when paired with a solid cooler. A perfect choice for anyone who wants longevity and top-tier gaming performance.

Best gaming CPU! I had the 7700x prior, went to 7800x3d and saw this was in stock for just 50 dollars more. i see huge 1% low improvements, runs cooler then the 7800x3d never reached above 73C on peak load stays in between 60-70C when gaming monsterhunter wilds on ultra. Never have stuttering issues, getting 28K score in timespy benchmarks as well. HIGHLY Recommend

This is the best gaming CPU I think money can buy. It handles editing, gaming, and anything I want to run with extreme ease, also easily tuned in the AMD app. This is the top of the line gaming CPU and it lives up to the hype. Also easy to install, a little scary to click in moving to AM5 from AM4, but works extremely well.

Pro: - Much bigger uplift than what reviewers show over the 7800X3D with the right memory tuning. - Easy to boost to 5.45GHz all-core with Curve Optimizer. - Memory Context Restore now works with Power Down Mode disabled. The 7000 series can't do that. Con: - Can be hot to concentrate 160W on this small, single-CCD CPU. 120W is very cool with much better efficiency. Reviewers used DDR5-8000 with very slow EXPO timings which masked its potential. If your 9800X3D can do 2200MHz FCLK and DDR5-8000 with buildzoid's Hynix timings, do it. It'll surprise you with its improvement over the 7800X3D in competitive games like CS2. As far as I've seen, it's much more likely to stably do 2200MHz FCLK and DDR5-8000 with the 9000 series compared to the 7000 series. If you can't run 2200MHz FCLK stably, then run 2000MHz FCLK to synchronize the memory controller and the infinity fabric. I gained over 58% in 1% low FPS compared to the 7800X3D.

What can I say about this processor that you probably already didn’t know. If you’re looking for this specific processor, then you’re doing it for the gaming. Now sure the next level that’s come out l just squeaks it out just barely but realistically you get this right here for this price you’ve got an incredible build. Put this together with an NZXT H9 flow, along with a 5080 Nvidia… two M.2 8 TB SSD, with 32 gigs of RAM and you’re off and running. Of course I added a corsair icue link Titan 360 radiator with LCD screen.. This with the MSI Tomahawk B650. It’s gonna be great. I did wish that the secondary M.2 was the five rather than the four but the speed is still gonna be fine.

I recently upgraded my PC from AMD Ryzen 7 7700X to Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It is worth every penny and handles CPU intensive games like Escape From Tarkov to Valorant so well. Plus, it can handle 6000mHz 32GB RAM kit from Corsair and also able to compile shaders a lot quicker than my 7700X. For video processing, it can able to process much quicker than my old 7700X, when I use Steam in-game recorder and Xbox Game Bar in-game recorder.

Best CPU money can buy, temps are perfect, performance is phenomenal, definitely worth the investment

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is an absolute beast for gaming. Performance has been excellent, with high FPS, smooth gameplay, and great overall responsiveness. I paired it with an RTX 5080, and the combination handles everything I play extremely well, especially at high refresh rates. Temperatures have also been easy to manage with a good cooler. If you’re building a high-end gaming PC and want top-tier performance, the 9800X3D is definitely worth it.

I’m thrilled to share my experience with the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This processor has truly elevated my computing experience in several key areas. Installing the Ryzen 7 9800X3D was a straightforward process. Designed for the AM5 socket, it seamlessly fit into my existing motherboard without any issues. The processor’s architecture ensures compatibility with a wide range of AM5 motherboards, making the upgrade path smooth and hassle-free. One of the standout features of this processor is its improved thermal performance. AMD’s decision to invert the CCD+L3D stack in the 3D V-Cache design has enhanced heat dissipation, allowing for higher clock speeds up to 5.2 GHz. Despite its powerful performance, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D maintains efficient power consumption, making it a reliable choice for both gaming and multitasking. Choosing the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D has been a game-changer for me. Its top-tier gaming performance, ease of installation, and efficient thermal management have exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or someone seeking a robust processor for various tasks, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is a stellar choice that delivers on all fronts.

I switched from the 5800x3d to this blazing fast cpu about 3 weeks ago. It performs better than 1st gen of the x3d chip. It was very difficult to get, and when I saw the chance to checkout it took about an hour. I could believe, I waited that long for the checkout process. So if you happen to get it in your cart, just be super patient and do not leave the line. Beats paying more from other places. I also have it oc at 5400, on heavy loads it peaks at 91° C so make sure you have a sufficient cooler for it. I have 8 case fans and one dual cpu air cooler, so your cooling situation may differ depending on your case, build and room temperature. All in all the 9800x3d is the next best cpu for gaming and streaming shows on pc.

Excellent cpu for my gaming setup. Coupled with my aio cooler temps rarely get above 65c

Ive been on intel since 9900K and have always been a fan of them. Even through the ups and downs of Raptor Lake I stayed committed. I was looking forward to the new Arrow Lake cpus but when the reviews came out I was disappointed, to say the least. This 9800X3D is nothing short of amazing. Sacrifice a small amount of work performance for some of the best gaming performance I've ever seen! If you are like me and find yourself torn then please make the jump to AMD. You will not regret it.
