This CPU is an absolute MONSTER. I did a complete system upgrade from an i7 7700k with 16gb of ram and a GTX 1070 to an Ryzen 9 3900x with 64gb ram and an RTX 2070 Super. This destroys my 7700k system in every aspect. No Problems with it at all If you are looking to build a new system this CPU is the one !!

It’s not my first build using AMD, I have 30 years +, building custom PC’s and I can say that AMD cpu’s are more then just a cheaper CPU, they are great for just about anything you need them to do. Intel might be bigger but AMD can do it at a better price!

Awesome that BB didn't jack the price like Amazon,NewEgg and Micro Center, those companies knew the stock problems and stuck it to there customers once availability improved. I bought this processor to replace my old i7 2600k and 8700k systems and I'm very satisfied with the new system. AMD really stepped up the game, the 3900x is really fast in games, I see no difference in gaming performance compared to my previous i7 8700k system. When it comes to video photo& editing/ rendering, the 3900x is so much faster than the Intel counterpart. AMD ryzen platforms have really matured.

This thing is an absolute beast for gaming or workstation performance! If you have a decent GPU you'll be pumping out frames like crazy on any AAA title game. Make sure you have sufficient cooling so it will actually hit boost speeds it advertises. Outperformed a Threadripper in both multi core and single core benchmarks!

12 cores 24 threads, What else can you say. i have it under a custom loop and max temps i see are around 60c. but again its 24 threads and its a powerhouse. Intel is going to be given a run for their money. Plus NVMe 4.0 speeds are amazing.

This cpu has been amazing, at max settings on any game, under extreme stress from my graphic design programs and unbelievable amounts of calculations in the hundreds of millions per second, this processor chills down in the 10% range on all cores, there's literally nothing that cant be done almost instantly. Highly recommend

Amazing processor for first GEN Ryzen, runs as advertised. Ryzen master makes OC this a breeze and much easier then Intel. This processor brut-forces everything it does and is definitely better then it’s counterparts unless you absolutely need that 5mghz boost.

This thing is a beast. I upgraded from an I7-4770K Intel processor and this thing just blows my old CPU away in everything from games to video processing. Adobe Premiere is fun to use now; no long waits for encoding to complete, it slices through video like a hot knife through margarine. The only reason not to buy this processor today, is to wait for the up coming Ryzen 9 3950x PS: Thank to Best Buy for letting me back order this processor and it came almost a week earlier that expected.

The switch from Intel (i7-4770k) to the AMD Ryzen 9 3900x has been fairly painless for me. This thing is super zippy. The games I play are more smooth and recording applications have greatly reduced processing times. There are bios issues that are still being hammered out, but I've calmed down about the occasional 1.45 volts. I do recommend ignoring the cooler that comes with it and get something a bit better.

This thing definitely blows my 1700 out of the water. Going from 8 cores to 12 cores was a smart move and great for having lots of applications open. With the 1700 playing or streaming video while playing a game would definitely kill fps. With the 3900x, no noticeable performance decrease at all. Upgraded to it mainly for gaming at 165hz at 1440p. 1700 on pubg and a 1080 ti was averaging low 100s. With the 3900x, I actually stay at or near my monitors fps cap now most of thr time.... I had no clue my 1700 was bottlenecking my graphics card that hard. Extremely happy that I got this CPU.

I upgraded from a ryzen 2700X. I installed on a B450 tomahawk motherboard. 48GB RAM. RTX 3080. My computer feels soo much more responsive. Going from 8/16 core/thread processor to 12/24 core/thread cpu made a noticeable difference in update install times. Also game frames are feel smoother and I notice less hitching and frame stutters. I have bought another 3900x and even a 5900x for my other side builds because I was able to shave a 6900xt bundle off newegg shuffle and a 6800 Merc from a bestbuy in hallandale. And I bought a 3080 of StockX for the now seemingly reasonable 1250$. Get this processor when it’s available no matter what. Be warned, once you buy this cpu you will not be able to go down to anything less than twelve cores. It’s like a 144hz monitor and a 60hz monitor. You will be tainted and you’ll know what you’re missing.

This product has proven to me that AMD is a very good company. I build my PC and put this monster of a CPU in it. My computer can run Call of Duty (Cold War and Modern Warfare) without any issues. It is easy to install and comes with a great stock cooler.

I built my first gaming PC just 2 weeks ago. I'm not well versed in all things PC. However it's been in my to-do list to build my own PC. I went from an Intel computer quite a few years back, to a Ryzen 7 1700 for a couple of years. While being a prebuilt PC from NZXT, it had plenty of customization options. It was also a great stepping stone into learning more and eventually deciding to make a better rig. In terms of raw productivity this is incredible. I run multiple applications with no issues. Often utilizing Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro with 4k video, and After Affects all at once. Gaming is still super responsive. For my needs this was well worth it. Also got this price-matched by best boy for just over 400 dollars. Quick and easy! Def recommend.

Pretty fast. I had trouble getting one, but leave it to best buys (in que) service to come through for me in the clutch! AMD's latest and greatest processor doesn't disappoint. I upgraded from a Ryzen 7 1800X and while it doesn't seem much faster from day to day activity, it's a lot faster on benchmarks. What does that mean? I don't know, maybe that the 1800x is pretty fast?. Either way, there is a reason that these things were so hard to purchase (selling out everywhere), because they're a GREAT value for the money. Very fast, excellent price point V.S. Intel equivalent.

In short this is an excellent work horse and if you're looking for work and gaming it's a champ. Okay this going to get more technical as I go deeper but I'll try to put that lower down. For gaming it's fine but if you're just streaming consider 3700x. It's an excellent alternative. Boost clock issue: This CPU currently (9/6/19) does not hit its advertised boost (cooler master ml370r) some very expensive mother boards do get close or beyond sometimes. A high end Aorus or ROG is needed for that. (Update is said to be coming to fix this issue) Overclocking Notes: After following every OC guide I could find I can say it is possible to beat Precision Boost Overdrive (By a good amount too!) Motherboard: One of the main problems is that VRM Temps are too high with the boosting on this system. Aorus Pro, ROG Strix, or TUF seem to have the best VRM temps. Some people do undervolt to fix this. *** If you have an x470 motherboard make sure to patch it first or contact AMD and they will actually send you a CPU to boot and update. *** RAM: The infinity fabric that connects the two dies is tied to the ram speed. So get quality RAM with good timings and clocks. (Just google a calculator so you don't get screwed with bad timings) after 3800 it does decouple from the infinity fabric. Linux notes: This one has been a struggle. I haven't tried it with every Linux distro but here are my experiences. Debian: Works like a charm so far but I haven't had it running very but it will at least run. Arch: No. Some of the bugs are patched but after two manual builds, manjaro, and anarchy none of them would fully boot. It would freeze during start up (9/1/19 release) I hear Ubuntu too does work for the 3900x but I don't personally use it

Just built my PC for a decent load of work. I was told that this processor was the best bang for my buck and let me tell you, this thing is awesome. Not sure if I got lucky with the processor I received but my processor out of the box is never lower than 4.2Ghz..wow. I’m a person who doesn’t know much about computers but what I do know is this is remarkable performance. I have paired this with 32gb of ram at 3200ghz as well and I play war zone with ease at high settings. I’ve heard that this processor has great overclocking potential if that’s your thing. For the price though I don’t see how you can not buy this if you’re the average gamer or even a top streamer.

The cpu is amazing. You get a massive processor for the price. You will pay more for an i9 and have less cores and threads. Way faster then my i7 and it’s perfect for video editing and gaming. I would recommend to anyone who wants the best for under 500.
