What can I say. This thing overclocked to 4.2 all core, and runs everything I could want. It’s even better than my server.

Amazing speed and a great price. Beats any intel on the market in terms of production and matches them in any gaming application.

I got this processor simply because it's overkill for what I do. I do a little big of gaming, little work, little browsing. I went with the 12 core because I really don't want to build another computer for 5-6 years, and this processor should suffice me for that long. It's a beast, and I recommend it to anyone.

Quiet, cool, and fast. Intel’s 9900 might slightly be better on a core to core basis, but you’ll only see that difference if the rest of your system is maxed out. There’s a reason we’re going on 3 months of sell outs- this processor is an outstanding value and unmatched currently for productivity workflows.

I hadn't used AMD since 1999 because at the time the only way to get power out of these processors was over-clock and cool to death. I decided to give them a shot on building a rig because the price was just so irresistible. Let me tell you, this is what computing should be. This little bugger handles my 3d programming, and gaming like a champ. Bye, Bye Team Blue.

Finally upgraded from i7 2600K and cannot be happier. As of right now, Intel doesn't have an answer for Ryzen2 AMD CPUs. Bought the CPU with my birthday coupon while other retailers were price gouging. Thanks BB!

I was able to get this overclocked with the STOCK cooler to 4.2GHz on all cores. The temps got up to about 85c under synthetic benchmarks, and around 70-75c when gaming/editing video. I have since put a BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 on it and have it clocked to 4.3GHz now, with temps never going over 80c in synthetic benchmarks, and 70c in every day use/gaming. The CineBench R20 score for my 4.3GHz overclock is 7499 (all core).

This processor tackles any task with essential no effort. Power efficient (if you have the right board), low heat, and doesn't need to be overclocked. It runs at 4.3 GHz on all cores autonomously, im sure it can run higher but doesn't seem like its needed on the most demanding task. I recommend taking the time to find the right board to maximize its potential, don't be brand loyal, find one that maximizes the processor for your build.

In my 30 or so years of building computers, I have always used AMD cpu's. Mostly because I was unable to afford anything Intel had to offer back in the day. Now that AMD has caught up, and in some cases actually passed Intel in performance, why would I consider it now? Never going to happen even if Intel drops prices drastically. Anyway, this cpu is just amazing and fast. No issues with heat, but there was a need to update the BIOS on my board to get things the way they needed to be.

Wow. Just. Wow. I’ve been an Intel fanboy all my life. I upgraded from a 7700k. Blows the old chip out of the water in productivity and gaming. I’ll afmit that overclocking and memory compatible has been a bit frustrating, but overall totally worth it.

I've been an AMD guy for a long time, I love that their processors have always performed at higher frequencies out of the box than other brands. This is no exception. It is rated at 12 cores 3.8GHz and even under full load tests with rendering from 3D programs or processor heavy After Effects composites as well as my games, this processor has been awesome and rarely drops under 4.0GHz without any overclocking. Install the AMD chipset for it in addition to your motherboard chipset and make sure to update your BIOS on your motherboard right away to ensure all the built in clocking mechanics are running correctly. It runs at a higher voltage than I am used to in idle states (1.3-1.4) but AMD & Asus have assured me that this is how the chip is designed and it is performing as intended. If you want a great processor that will allow you to game as well as do productive tasks, this is a great choice. I've only been using it for 3 days now, but out of box with stock cooler and a good case with fans to keep air moving, it runs perfect.

Built a new system, old one had a Ryzen 7 2700x so wanted something little higher end. Set up is Asus tuf gaming x570 plus Gpu Ultra thic 3 xfx 5700x 32 gigs gskill DDR4 3200 (over clocked to 3600) Bought an Asus AIO and have this cpu over clocked to 4.6 ghz Gaming is amazing Solid Overclocking ability IF you have proper cooling, don't try pushing it with the included stock cooler

Overclocked to an all core 4.3 GHz and oh myyy this baby is fast. Amd is killing it. As long as you’re not using the stock cooler you can probably get this all the way up to 4.6 with decent temps provided you put the time in to get all your voltages perfect. I’m fine sitting at 4.3 tho and with the precision boost overdrive feature it’s reeeeally easy to get your chip there and with stable temps. I think i got a good chip tho not all cores are equal in the silicon lottery!

I bought a 9900k and everyone kept asking me why? "Why didn't you buy the 3900x, its better in x, y and z" "Why waste more money with Intel" "Why Why Why" It got old, so I returned it and went AMD for the first time in 6 builds. Last time, it was a FX-6300... Well, it's really not that much of a difference in performance for what I use it for and it cost me about $100 extra. I could rant and debate with people but we should just be happy that a CPU war is on with Intel and AMD, it's the consumer that wins. They're both great CPUs whether anyone wants to hear it or not. Sure, Intel is just re-branding stuff and selling it for more money, but AMD has shotty launches and numerous incompatibilities at said launches. There are 3900x that don't even hit stock numbers lol but hey, the 9900k has had virus issues. So pick your poison and don't give into the reddit hive-mind or friends who do, like I did. I'm only giving it 4 stars btw because I had to dance around with the BIOS, Chipset and Power-settings to get my numbers correct. AND read about RAM.
