The tone set by the director is extremely dark, perhaps a tad too dark for a story that is part mythic fantasy with touches of horror. Also, the lead chosen has a good performance, but perhaps too good as the ex-con for a role that is supposed to be the audience's conduit through the story. I enjoyed this series, but I can't rank this as one of the top ten for fantasy television right now.

Having read Neil Gaiman's "American Gods" numerous times, I recognize that this may not be a faithful adaptation of the book, but it is a clever and funny one. I doubt it will ever be done better, so I'd recommend jumping on this onw!

This series is right up my alley. The character are so uniquely different but do much alike. It's like worship is trying to shake off the old to bring in the new. And the old is not shaking.

Although it doesn't follow the book entirely, knowing that Neil Gain an helped in production off the show made it better. The end commentaries walk you through how the actors were chosen and why the show diverted from the book.

the plots, the twist and turns will keep your mind guessing what is going to happen next. There is a war coming and it is not the kind would even consider ever happing.

This is a TV series that tells a story starts off a little slow and bills and bills to a crescendo. I kind of like when you get a good show.

This is another great offering from Starz. it is dark and twisted almost strange to the point of twin peaks. It is a great watch and has so many famous stars in it.

Very entertaining take on the 'Old Gods v/s 'New Gods' and humanity caught in the middle. Well written and acted.Hope there is a second season.

Based on the book, this show will WOW you and have you watching the episodes over and over to catch new things. Can't wait for season 2!

This show is a trip. It's weird and cool and totally different than anything out there. Addicting too.

This show has managed to stay under the radar for so many people. Get this DVD or find it on demand you will not be disappointed.

This show is based on the book with same name by Neil Gaiman. I thoroughly enjoyed the show as a fan of the book. Can't wait for season 2. Also if you haven't read the book I recommend that as well.

An incredible 1st season for this story. Looking forward to the next season. Glad to see Neil Gaiman as an executive producer.

It sticks semi well to the book, and I really want to see more, but immediately after watching this, a quick search reveals there is a good chance the second season may not happen.

One of the best shows of 2017 is gorgeous on bluray along with some excellent bonus features. Absolutely worth the purchase.
