Out of the box, this was simple to set up. It automatically found my existing networks and let me choose which one to extend. Finally covered the back patio which even my mesh network can't seem to reach.

I have used a plugin style range extender for the last couple of years and found it to be average at best. My signal was extended but seemed to run slower through that unit. I was pleasantly surprised by the Helios EX unit in terms of the ease of setup and the true range extension with speed (assuming from the DirectLink technology). The unit is easy to setup, I used my iPhone and had no issues.
Pros:
Easy setup with most any device type
Great range extension with speed
Overall product build seems very durable
Can be mounted vertically or horizontally to fit into available spaces
AirPrint support
Cons:
Haven't found any yet!

Solution to a weak connection problem!

When this arrived, I was hoping that it would help me resolve a connection strength problem. In my residence, the internet connection and signal is strong in my living room but less than half strength by the time it gets to the bedrooms. I placed this range extender in the first bedroom. It took only a few minutes to set it up. I connected it to the present wireless and customize the settings. I now have a signal that is nearly FULL STRENGTH in all of the bedrooms. I have found that the strength of the 5GHz band is always a little stronger than the 2.4GHz band. I am a very satisfied user.

It was pretty simple to get it all setup. Getting back to the web setup menu was very frustrating. It says to connect to the extender but still couldn't find the extender. When I finally got it to access the web setup, when I try to apply the changes, it goes back to not being able the web setup again.
It does do its job and does it pretty well. It's almost seamless and has good range. I like that it has 5 gigabit ports so I can connect my devices that does not have wifi or requires a wired connection. I haven't tested the wired connection speed but the NVR that records my security cams didn't seem to have any problems.
The activity lights in the front are annoying but thankfully, there is a switch in the back of the unit to turn them off.
Pros:
MU-MIMO technology
gigabit ports
Tri-band
USB 3 port
CONS:
Web setup interface needs some work!!
Not the prettiest extender out there

It was quite an easy set up and it broadened our wireless accessibility. Following directions, I had the Amped Wireless Extender up and running in just a few minutes. There were one or two confusing moments, but that was due to my own inexperience. Anyone techier than I would have no problems.

Great Signals and Range

I've used various extenders in the past and have mixed feeling about it. However, I decided to try this for my dad's house, as it had great reviews via multiple sources. I will say the extender did not disappoint. It carried great signals from the main router to the 2nd floor at my dad's house. They were able to surf the web and stream TV on their iPad and Bedroom TV without any hiccups. So it's worth the investment if you have trouble with signals in your house.

Pretty solid little range extender. Definitely helps out on dead spots around the house. Biggest issue for me was the setup. For some reason it wouldn't pick up my 5G connection so I couldn't set it up properly. Took awhile but eventually I got it sorted out.

Ok so I've been testing out this wireless extender and I must say for the most part it has worked fairly well in my apartment. The back end of my apartment is the area that tends to have low to no signal. I connected the Amped Wireless Helios Range Extender per instructions and got it connected to my existing home network. Though setup was fairly easy I did run into a couple of issues when it came to connectivity. It dropped signal a couple times. After a couple reboots, it connected again and stay connected. I would say that this is a pretty decent range extender, it has stayed connected the last few days with no further issues.

Complete wi-fi signal coverage and speed!

We got a wi-fi booster from another manufacturer a while back due to spotty coverage and dead zones in our house. It was supposed to be the new great thing and it helped some, but it still left areas with poor signal, slow speeds and even still some dead areas after troubleshooting and moving etc.
We took a chance on this one due to good reviews and claims to address the issues our previous wi-fi extender left.
I found set-up to be fine as long as you thoroughly read and understand the instructions. There is also a video available as there is for most things these days. I had it set up in less than 30 minutes.
We now have complete coverage with no dead spots and great signal strength and speed. Coverage extends far outside.
Our old system beat this one for ease of set up, but once they are both working the Helios system definitely provides better range extension and overall wi fi coverage.

Works well as a wired access point

I use this thing as wired access point. That requires setting it up manually and not using the wizard. I cannot comment on the wireless bridging capabilities of this device.
My setup has a wire running from the router to this WiFi Extender. I have DHCP turned off and 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks are on different channels but with the same name and password. I have not had any issues with devices not automatically switching between the two when the signal goes bad.
Hard wired doing a transfer between two computers I have not found my cap as the limiting factor was a mechanical hard drive on one of the computers, but the speed I got was a sustained 800 mbps. On the wireless at less than 10 feet doing a speed test on a mobile phone I got a sustained 400 mbps (which happens to be my maximum download speed).

We connected this unit in our bedroom on the top floor of our home and it covers everywhere even up to 5 houses away. We were visiting neighbors when we checked and we were still connected to our house. AWESOME!!! Can't wait until our next pool party so everyone can try it out together.

Average coverage, easy set up

This range extender was easy to set up right out of the box. There is a helpful video that walks you step by step through the process. It advertises that it will extend coverage up to 12000 square feet however, I found that it does not provide that wide of coverage. There are several walls though in our building and that will certainly impact the signal. However if you had an open floor plan you probably would not need the extender in the first place. This device does have the capacity to directly connect with devices (such as a printer) which is a handy feature.

I have been trying to correctly set this extender up for over a week now. I thought it may be my ISP or main router but nothing I tried would allow me to access the setup pages for the router. Don't get me wrong, it does extend your network but there should be a setup page with many options. I can get it to extend one 2.4 and one 5.0 GHz signal but then I am essentially locked out of the router without doing a hard reset to only try the setup again. I tried both IE 11 and Chrome to access it with no luck.

Received the extender. Took it out of the box and read the instructions. Quickly found the wifi and no issues at all. I'm really impressed. No dead zones and I have not lost connections to any devices.

Holy Coverage

We purchased this extender to send our signal upstairs and so my husband could stream music while mowing the lawn. Well...we definitely got what we asked for. We have so much coverage that we don't even connect to our original router anymore. Every single device (12!) in our home now uses the extender's network. We're beyond impressed.

I've had this extender for just over one week. So far it has really been a disappointment. I tried connecting to my existing router, I went through all the steps then waited the 104 seconds as it reboots and restarts. Signed in as instructed, but when I tried to connect, I would get a message that I could not connect. You then are instructed to try again, meaning go through most of the steps and again wait the 104 seconds. This is what I did with the same result. So I thought I'd try a different router, again, twice went through all the steps with the same disappointing result. I decided to give it up for the day and try a third router the next day. So I go through all the steps as instructed, not once, not twice, but four times. All with the same result, will not connect to the router. At this point I've given up. I'll try contacting customer service and if I'm able to get a better result, I'll update this review.
