This device is supposed to extend the range of my wifi network, and it has been unable to connect to my work or my home wifi network. It was a complete waste of money.

Auto setup didn't work for my Cisco router. Alternate setup instructions good to a point, but then trail off and leave you guessing as to what to do next. They were not tested well. Apparently written by and for people expert in the use of this product. Iff you have to think through by yourself you are out of luck.

I wouldn't advise anyone to spend the money on this product, it's not what I expected at all, plus it keeps disconnecting from the base router leaving you with no connectivity at all

Extends range but weaker than my router

I live in a 2200 sq foot home and my router is in one far corner of the house on the second floor. So I bought this to get a stronger signal in my basement in the opposite corner. Setup was piece of cake, the included CD has a video with step-by-step easy to follow instructions. During setup I spent quite a bit of time to find the optimal placement and I ended up getting 91% signal strength from my router on the 5GHz band and 80% on the 2.4GHz band (80% was the best I could get on the 2.4GHz band even when I placed it 3 feet line of sight from my router) but I figured those were ample to do the extending job. So I got it all hooked up in my basement expecting to get a strong signal in a room 15 feet away from where I set it up but the signal I got was the same strength as the one from my router which was upstairs in the far corner of the house. The extender was in the middle of my basement with only a door between me and the extender when I was testing. I ran speed tests for about 45 minutes and 100% of the time I got faster and more consistent upload and download speeds by connecting directly to my router's wifi than I could get by connecting to the extender. I was disappointed to say the least. Just to be sure, I moved the extender to my upstairs and set it right next to my router and then reset the extender to factory settings. Then I walked to the other side of my house and I was getting full bars on both 5GHz and 2.4GHz from my router and from the extender I was getting 75% signal on the 5GHz and 50% signal from the 2.4GHz. I assume this product was made for people with really weak routers that can only broadcast about 10 feet. In that case this would be a useful device. Otherwise if you are looking to improve the signal or extend the range of an already powerful signal/router then this will just be a waste of time and money. I have a Netgear N600 Dual Band router and so I will return this extender and just buy another of those routers and simply run a LAN cable down to the basement for optimal speed and hook up the second router down there to get the signal I want at the speed I want in my basement.

The You Tube and Netflix streaming are now working much better then with the Netgear extender. It reaches out to my shed about 80 very well. However if your shed is build with radiant barrier material do not expect the signal to penetrate. When the weather warms up and leave the door open I get great signal and my WiFi radio works fine. The door also has radiant barrier material and once the door closes the signal is diminished to where it is trying to handshake and make a connection. I will be speaking with the Amped Tech Spt. later to see what solutions are avialable. I need WiFi in the shed to watch U-Toob vids on woodworking while refinishing furniture. SO this is not a negative just keep expectations at a reasonable level and you should be content with browser performance on tablet and mobile devices as well.

So you pay a lot for this thing relative to other range extenders. Is it worth it? Well, maybe. The installation is pretty easy - I had some issues with it integrating with my Trendnet router and needed to call customer service. In the end, I was getting an error message that I simply needed to ignore. It was working fine. The range is nothing spectacular, but it's not bad and it gets the job done. Jeremy in customer service was knowledgeable and there was little wait time. In the end, the thing just costs a lot.

I live in a home that is constructed out of brick, and I currently use a Motorola SBG6580 Cable-Modem/Dual-Band Wireless Router. The problem is that the antenna's are very weak and has a hard time penetrating walls from one room to another so I needed a repeater/range extender. I first bought a Cisco RE1000, single band, and it was alright. I needed something more POWERFUL. I started doing some research on Amped Wireless and came upon the SR20000G which claims to be able to cover an area of approximately 10,000 square feet (this is in the 2.4GhZ band, it is 5,000 in the 5GhZ band). It was strong, but using a Wi-Fi Signal Meter it was still not doing what I needed. I next bought an ASUS RT-AC66R Dual Band Router with External Antenna's to see if it would help..... I also bought an ASUS EA-N66R to test which one would be better....... Well I ended up getting a better signal with the EA-N66R. I have no doubt that the SR20000G is an excellent product, and I would recommend it to anyone with a non-brick home. Is it worth the price though? I would say that it should be priced $20.00 lower then it is because you can get the EA-N66 for $89.99 (EA-N66R for $99.99).

Phone Tech Help for Amped Wireless

I had to reset my Guest Network after it went down, Andrew Concierge #108, called me back right on time, and walked me multiple times through the procedure of setting up new network names, security, passwords, signal strength testing, etc. and got me back online for my Tenant using the Guest Network. He was very clear with his instructions, and patient with me as i did fumble a bit with setting up dual networks for both 5.0 and 2.4GHz lines. He stayed with me until I was clearly back with a strong signal on both lines and told me how to re-do it on my own if necessary. Excellent Tech Help, a Genius. I give him an A+, please give this man a raise today! His help and clarity was invaluable today!

tried the top of the line amped-wireless extender and it connected great and had good range, after a couple of hours the extender would not connect to the internet and had too reinstall it, after trying to call tech, support and being on hold for 45 minutes hung up, tried to solve problem by moving it at different locations around the house and all I could get was a 75% signal went it was located just above the router in another room and still lost connections, after almost a week I finally got tech support and was told the my Motorola surfboard was not capability with the unit, return unit and got the netgear dual band unit and is working great with no problems and good range,
