recently took a road trip with my 17 year old daughter on my motorcycle, and ended up in the area where this movie was filmed... A good friend of mine, who has since passed, was an extra in this movie, with some good parts, actuall speaking parts and some real camera time... anyway I was telling my daughter about it, so I decided to order the movie so we can watch it!!!

An Officer and a Gentleman is a true classic. The cast is amazing. Richard Gere and Debra Winger are at the top of their game and Louis Gossett Jr. is spectacular. This great story will draw you in immediately and doesn't let go. The Blu Ray transfer here is truly wonderful. The film has never looked so good.

Another example of an older movie that really improves picture and sound on Blu Ray. If you have the older DVD versions this is a big upgrade. Highly recommended.

This movie was awarded two academy awards and nominated for more. Great performances by Gere, Winger and Gossett Jr and great music. Although the movie is about training naval pilots, it is an uplifting story about human conflict and human growth centering on a young man attempting to make a better life for himself. Blu-ray disc, packaging, picture and sound quality good. Presented in 1.77:1 aspect ratio. Extra features: Documentary of the making of the movie, music and tour of the town.

Excellent movie that I hadn't seen in a while. Would definitely recommend this classic movie.

From start to bend this movie will keep your eyes glued to the TV. Shows how someone who doesn't think you can do somthing that you really can !!!

Just an old classic it’s a great movie well worth the money

Disc played on a Panasonic DP-UB9000 and an LG OLED TV. Still, the picture was subpar; washed out across the spectrum. Like an early DVD which is probably what this is - a tweaked transfer from DVD source material. Which would also explain the flat sound - nothing boomed, voices never rose, the sound was monotone. Dolby Audio. Video - 2 Stars (If DVD 3 stars but this is supposedly Blu-ray). Audio- 3 Stars (because voices clear, distinct, easily understood)
