Do not go into this expecting Mass Effect 2. The gameplay is fantastic, but the story and characters aren't nearly as engrossing as previous entries. It's a great game for sure.

I can't say enough how much I love this steel case. The artwork on the cover is worthy of a renaissance master. Since it's made of steel that means my game will be safe from the environment for years to come. I can also stack other games without the fear of buckling. Will wonders never cease. I highly recommend this product. Here's hoping that more games will include the steel book. Oh wait, persona 5 just did it. As did horizon zero dawn. Tekken 7 and Injustice 2 will also do. But the difference is that this is FREE. Nothing is better than free.

This collector's steelbook will look great on your shelf. It's well made, and the art is really cool. A nice little extra from Best Buy.

This is a nice looking steelbook. Wrap around art with a nice matte finish on it. If you're into Mass Effect and a collector, it's really a nice item. Great that it was free with game purchase.

This case is better than the regular one. It not only looks good it protects the game.

I love the Mass Effect universe so I thought I would get the game because the price was so low and it came with a free Steelbook case. Well, now I have to use the Steelbook as my main case because the original green plastic one was broken. It normally would be a big deal but it is the part that hold the disk in place. Luckily there were no scratches on the disk though the Steelbook was covered in little scratches.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is both a sequel and a reboot of the successful Mass Effect series of video games. The action is set FAR in the future and many, many light years from the Milky Way as the Andromeda Initiative heads to the Andromeda galaxy. But, of course, things are not so rosy once they arrive. You play as a Pathfinder and your job is to assemble an elite team to make first contact with Andromeda species, establish viable colonies, and fight those who would welcome your colonists with violence. The flaws? Well, I find the basic look of the Pathfinder somewhat off-putting. Most of the Human character models are "old school" in a bad way. And the way the male Pathfinder moves is awkward at best. Watching him run around the Nexus or the Tempest and flapping his elbows like a turkey near Thanksgiving is pretty laughable. Driving around in the Nomad vehicle looking for minerals can be fun, but also tedious. There are some limited tutorials, but the game leaves a LOT (too much!) for you to figure out on your own (like how to choose your squad or the ins and outs of crafting weapons and armor). The combat is pretty fun, but multiplayer combat has a steep learning curve. The steelbook edition from Best Buy is just that...a steelbook to put the game in. The design on the front is different than the regular case. And it's metal, so it has heft. If you're a steelbook collector, you should be happy with this one. All in all, this is a good game and should please sci-fi gamers and Mass Effect fans.

I wish there were more preorder bonuses like this. I'm a fan of physical copies of my video games and movies. Whenever there's a steel book edition available, I am all over it. The Mass Effect Andromeda steel book is clean with its smooth version of the game poster on the case. It's a welcome addition to my game collection and stands out on its own.
