Dark and taboo, Angel Sanctuary is the story of Setsuna Mundo, a high school student, who is the reincarnation of an Angel, banished from Heaven for rebelling against God. He is also in love with his younger sister, though this relationship takes a back-seat in this animation to the supernatural interference of demons at Setsuna's school. Angels and demons flocks to him as the day of his awakening draws near, and death approaches all those for whom Setsuna cares. This is a *re-release* of the OAV (original animated video) of the wildly popular manga series by Kaori Yuki of the same name. Both this OAV and the manga deal with the taboo topics of religion, incest, good vs evil, (among others) and will make you question what is right and what is wrong, all while gripping the sides of your seat! The only real downfall to Angel Sanctuary is that if you want to find out what happens next, you've got to run over to the bookstore to finish the series. The OAV covers the first story arc, but the manga spans 20 volumes, all of which though are thankfully in English and still in-print. It's also one of my all-time favorites, you won't be able to put it down!
