This is an essential album for everyone with an interest in heavy metal/rock/late 20th century music. Angelwitch was formed around the same time as other major NWOBHM bands (Saxon, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden) and even shared the stage with some bands from that era (Iron Maiden for example), while aforementioned groups went on to sell millions of albums and tour the world, Angelwitch was sadly overlooked and became a cult band, but this adds to the mystique of this album; here's a band that came out of nowhere, released one PERFECT album, and vanished ( with a few comeback attempts in the decades that followed). I'll go as far as saying that this is one of the top 5 heavy metal albums of all time! Essential! Now, let me talk about this specific CULTURE FACTORY release. The overall package is nice, with the classic John Martin painting on the cover. It comes with something similar to an obi strip, the vinyl is a beautiful orange color that matches the overall artwork, and this pressing is limited to a 1000 copies. An extra insert with the lyrics and some notes would have been nice, but sadly there's none. The main issue with this release is the audio quality, I don't know what was used as the source, probably some old album, but definitely not the master tapes, you can hear some noise and the overall sound is a little muffled, not bad to the point that it detracts from the listening enjoyment of the album, but far from a great audio quality. In short, this is a good package for anyone on a budget looking for a copy of this classic album. But if you're looking for that one definitive Angelwitch reissue, this is not it.
