Another great success with Animal Crossing!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still play every single previous Animal Crossing game since their release day. New Horizons does not disappoint! It just looks so beautiful and the fact that you can share a joy-con or use another controller to play with other players is very awesome. There's so many things to do, like building, crafting, gardening, fishing, bug collecting, fossil hunting, fashion, & traveling. It's also an easy way to hang out with friends especially in this COVID-19 era. It's almost like The Sims but more kid friendly and very cute. I love it! My kids, friends and relatives all play it alone and together. 2 thumbs up!

First Time Animal Crossing Player Here
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve never played any of the Animal Crossing games before and a lot of people I knew were getting this game. I decided to get it as well. Best decision I made. (Even got my best friend addicted to it.) It’s a great game to play alone or even with friends. Learning the game was super easy. There is so much to do in the game and you can take your time doing it all. I’ve even heard there will be special events or something similar to that in the future. There’s even specific items that are seasonal items too. I do recommend this game (and I have to several of my friends as well.)

Excellent game for casual play.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This isn't a game for those looking for an end goal. This is more of a "go at your own pace" kind of game that lets you explore, and eventually build and customize your own little island. Your storage inventory can be a bit cramped without constantly upgrading your house space, so keep that in mind as you have to save up a considerable amount of bells to afford said upgrades. The game gives you lots of opportunities to earn the bells though. Usually through fishing, bug catching, or even turnip trading if you're clever and patient. The game works off of real-time and even has seasons depending on hemisphere (northern or southern). The game could be in winter in the middle of July if you went with southern, but most will go with northern as it better matches North American climates. The animals in the game are quite helpful at times, so be sure to check up on them often, and remember important events such as their birthdays. Just remember to play often. You don't have to play every day, but it is recommended to pop in often to see how the villagers are doing, and to do the daily tasks such as fossil digging, harvesting crafting materials, and checking what the stores have for sale. If you're a fan of any of the previous Animal Crossings, then you'll definitely want this one if you have a Switch!

Worth the wait!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to pickup the physical copy, as well as the pre-order bell bag safely in the car, with an employee taking down my info and going into the store to grab the copy. The process was super efficient and I cannot stress enough how well our Best Buy store handled the new work order rules our state put out (with what's going on now). The game has been a lifesaver during this time, and every single day has been a joy to play. Great graphics, tons to do and amazing customization options. One of the best entries in the series and must-buy for AC fans and newcomers!

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have developed a renewed appreciation for this game. It provides extensive customization options, which I find highly appealing. Unfortunately, I misplaced my previous copy of the game, resulting in the loss of my saved progress. This incident occurred prior to the release of the latest downloadable content update. Despite this setback, I am delighted to report that I am enjoying the game even more now, thanks to the aforementioned update.

My island has become my sanctuary...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit that I wasn't expecting to like this game as much as I do. My friends talked about New Leaf quite a bit when it was released, but I didn't play it at the time. I tried Pocket Camp, but didn't feel it was special enough to invest a significant amount of effort into. New Horizons, on the other hand, has been a lifesaver. The first thing that really convinced me was the sound effects-- the game's realistic ambient noise are both immersive and relaxing. Different shoes produce different noises on different paths! When you step on grass, it crunches like real grass! The wind sounds exactly like wind! Maybe I'm easily amused, but I'm always so happy just listening to my character walk on stuff. And since the game takes place in real time, it genuinely feels like a place I can escape to. The short days in Stardew Valley tend to stress me out, but with Animal Crossing, I can wake up at 7 AM and it'll be 7 on my island as well... and when an hour of real life passes, I don't come back to find that all my Sims either hate me or haven't moved. I was skeptical about the deserted island setting at first; I'm not much of a beach person. But I've been impressed at how effectively I can to make my island my own. And the environment is easy to navigate, even for people like me who are easily disoriented by rapidly-moving cameras. The characters are mostly cute and friendly, but there's enough of a sense of danger (is that the right word?) to keep the game from feeling overly sweet. Tom Nook is mildly exploitative, but not in a way that feels genuinely threatening. There are wasps and tarantulas/scorpions, but you don't necessarily need to battle them outright-- a net and quick reflexes will do, or you can hide in your house at night. Some of the villagers are awful, and it takes effort to get rid of them (just like real acquaintances tbh), but they won't actually hurt you. And it can be surprisingly fun to commiserate with other players about how much we all hate (or love to hate) a few particular characters. That's the key thing here, I think-- Animal Crossing offers social connections, but only if the player actually wants to connect. It's a lighthearted cultural phenomenon in a time when lightheartedness is more necessary than ever. New Horizons can be whatever we need it to be-- perhaps something with strict competitive deadlines, or just a place to run in circles with different shoes to see what sounds you can make. It's something that you can use to connect with others, or to hide in a very expensive basement with fifteen stacks of books. Maybe both. Of course, it does have flaws. The controls aren't as well-designed as they could be, and as a result, some simple tasks are more repetitive than they should be. The social features aren't always up to par, either-- the messaging system is convoluted and unwieldy, and having more than two friends on your island can be frustrating. Every time someone shows up or leaves, everyone has to watch a very slow, very predictable animation of them walking in or out of the airport gates. Still-- the pros massively outweigh the cons here. It's truly an excellent game.

Adorable and addicting!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve played AC on many different devices before but this one is by far the most interesting version of the game I’ve ever played, and it’s sooo adorable!! I can’t help but keep wanting to play because of how good this game is. It’s safe for anyone to play no matter how young and old. It’s fairly easy to play. If your looking to buy somebody this game or buy yourself it, I think it’s a must have for the Nintendo switch. 100% don’t regret my purchase

Great game the whole family can enjoy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have this game for the Wii and recently started playing it again. After a couple of weeks my daughter really wanted to get this new improved version Of animal crossing for the switch. As a surprise we bought her a switch When we found it in Stock and then found this game in stock too. The graphics are really good and the attention to detail is incredible. She has spent hours playing this and its gotten the whole family involved now. The changing scenarios and the story line keeps her engaged and wanting to accomplish more. Its great to break up the boredom of being home all the time. Its even A little educational if you listen to the owl who runs the island museum when you donate stuff to him. He tells you about the item you donate. There are so many tasks to accomplish you will have hours of fun and it seems there is no end to the game. Snorkeling and catching sea creatures is a challenge sometimes, but the reward is worth it. You get more valuable stuff diving compared to fishing when you sell your catch. Recommend this to help break up the home isolation feeling from being forced to stay home during this Covid-19 crisis. People of all ages will enjoy this.

Still Going Strong After One Month!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having played Animal Crossing games since the GameCube, this is the best version of the game yet! Having played each day since release, the community has seen fishing tournaments, an Easter egg hunt, and all sorts of other fun surprises! The best part about the game for me is that it is the first full-featured entry in HD, and the first full-featured console release of Animal Crossing that uses standard controls since the original GameCube version. Wholeheartedly recommended for kids of all ages!

Best Game Ever
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Animal Crossing New Horizons is the gates version of Animal Crossing in my opinion. It has all the familiar characters from the original games and new very cute ones you are able to interact with. The graphics are so crisp and vibrant love it so much. It is perfect game for quarantine as it is a time passing game. You are a rebel to customize your own island and travel to other friends islands as well. Highly recommended. Loved the preorder bonus Tom Nook phone badge. He is my favorite character!

Wonderful game and a great escape!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A week after receiving the game upon release I’ve been hooked and haven’t put the game down! It is a breath of fresh air despite what is going on in the world today, a great way to relax and keep calm in a world where you can’t get hurt! (Except by those wasps and bees!) Animal Crossing is a fantastic series of games, and this one hits the mark as the others have before it! If you need a relaxing and fun game to play, pick this one up and I’m sure that you’ll have a fantastic time!

Beautiful graphics!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve played New Leaf and I have to say that this game is definitely a huge upgrade! The graphics are absolutely beautiful and there’s a lot more activities in this game, compared to all the other games in the Animal Crossing series. This game is also a create-your-own type of thing. Everything can be customized according to how you want your island to look, from the homes to the outdoor furniture. Can’t wait to get a 5-star island!

Didn’t think i’d like, but am now obsessed
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a binge worthy game once i got started, thought i wouldn't like it since I didn’t like the first game for the 3ds, but this one is so much better. I like how it starts out with only a couple other people and slowly turns into a community, and theres way more to do, like crafting, which was non-existent in New Leaf, is a great addition to the game, cause there’s so many materials to work with. And you can customize your island with just about anything as long as you can build it or buy it, also Blathers museum got the best upgrade, might as well be a zoo and aquarium combined, oh, and an art exhibit. It does require a lot of grinding tho, like new materials don’t usually just pop up out of nowhere, u need to find them, so it becomes very repetitive. Kinda reminds me of minecraft how you need to gather and make stuff, except u can sell whatever you don’t need at Nooks Cranny for bells, and depending on what u have u can sell it for a good price, you can also sell stuff at the dropbox when the store isn’t open, which is a huge convenience, in case your pockets are full. Anyway, just an overall good game, i’m glad i bought it. Best Buy is also a good place to get it since it goes on sale there all the time, and you can combine the sale with any member coupons you have to be an even better deal!

Fun creative game
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been Animal crossing fan since GameCube. New horizon is really fun with creative side of creating your own walk paths, streets, outdoor furniture and clothes. Playing with friends have been fun showing off my village and giving gifts. Game is kinda relaxing no major battles just enjoy things. Go fishing, dog for fossils or decorate your home. Interacting with villagers has been fun. The museum my favorite part.

Good clean fun family game.
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good game for the family if you don't mind sharing one island. If you have multiple members in the family that want to play this game, it's best to have multiple switches with each copy of the game. People will complain about that but my rating on this game is still good (4 stars) because the gameplay itself is fun and will keep you busy for a long time. Yes, I did take off a star because they should have made it where multiple people can have their own islands but corporations gotta make their money right? =)

An addictive way to pass time!
||Posted . Great for beginners and veterans of the AC chain.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the bell bag combo with my new animal crossing and I'm beyond happy. I've been playing 18 years and I still look forward to the new releases. Went out of my way to buy the bell bag as soon as I saw it existed, I even work at a competing store but I absolutely needed this. The bag itself is actually pretty decently sized and really well made, I mean it better be if it's normally $20 already. The game keeps surprising me with the littlest things they've added over all these years. I didn't want to read reviews on what was coming out with this game as I wanted it to be a surprise. Great game, still a lifelong obsession, and love the bell bag addition.
