Marvels studios continues its outstanding commitment to deliver quality in cutting edge special effects producing the individual Marvel characters. This Ant-Man sequel introduces the Wasp into the ongoing series of the Ant-Man. The story sets out detailing the life of the main hero and the lives of all the people connected to his life after the last Ant-Man movie, including the interactions of Avengers in the story line. Full of action drama and comedic relief this story line delivers quality entertainment and anticipation of the outcome of each plot twist. Do not miss out on the final plot twist hidden at the very-end of the movie. Hint you probably walked out before it was reviled at the Movie theater, you will have to watch all the way to the end of the outtakes.

Solid entry into the MCU

Well not quite as entertaining as other entries in the Marvel cinematic universe, Ant-man and the wasp is not without its charm. While it would appear as though the director intends upon “dumbing down “our beloved hero to make him seem somewhat more affable, one can only imagine that the purpose of this is the only enhance the journey that we will see of the main character subsequent to infinity war. The special features are somewhat lacking in comparison to previous releases, but all in all, it is not a terrible second entry into the series.

Excellent 21st Movie in the MCU

This is a great movie, and continues the comedy from the 1st Ant-Man. Although it is not as main of a character as Iron Man or Thor, Ant-Man is a fun and exciting character that pleases the audience. Paul Rudd is a great cast for this role and delivers a string performance. If you are a fan of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) you should be sure to see this move. Side note, although this movie was physically released after Avengers: Infinity War, the events in this movie actually happen just BEFORE the events in Avengers: Infinity War.

I was unable to see this in theaters and saw Infinity War first. Buying this helped to complete our Marvel collection and I LOVED the movie!!! I like how it filled in the blanks for me as I wondered what happened with Antman. I loved seeing Wasp in action and was looking forward to it! I think the family chemistry is AMAZING and even though he started as a criminal, Scott is an amazing dad and his interactions with his daughter are heartwarming. It shows you can't judge a book by its cover. Great movie!

After the depressing ending of Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp was a welcome pallet cleanser. Once again the film feels like a minor MCU story, but elements set up in this film will likely have a big impact on Avengers: Endgame.
The 4K looks and sounds amazing. The film comes with a digital copy that will at least be HD on iTunes or 4K in Vudu. Because it’s a Movies Anywhere title, one code unlocks a digital copy on Amazon, iTunes, Xbox, Vudu, FandangoNow, and Google Play.

A Solid Sequel to "Ant-Man"

"Ant-Man and the Wasp," like its 2015 predecessor, "Ant-Man," is a fun action-adventure full of humor, thanks to the chemistry of its four lead actors: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña. However, the 2018 successor adds additional star power with Laurence Fishburne and Michelle Pfeiffer -- plus one of the last cameo appearances of the late, great Marvel icon, Stan Lee. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the 2018 "Ant-Man and the Wasp" occurs in the same timeline as "Avengers: Infinity War." If you enjoyed "Ant-Man," you will also enjoy "Ant-Man and the Wasp," a solid sequel, whose ending begs the same dramatic question -- ahem, at a micro scale -- posed by "Avengers: Infinity War": what happens next?

Perfect follow-up to Infinity War

With the very dramatic tone and surprising ending to Avengers: Infinity War, this was the perfect light-hearted follow-up. Very deftly continuing Scott Lang’s story from Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War, the movie moves along at a brisk pace and perfectly utilizes the comedic abilities of its stars. The mid-credits scene perfectly sets up Ant-Man’s key role in Avengers: Endgame. Enjoy!

Non-Stop Fun

The latest film in the Marvel juggernaut of blockbuster motion picture entertainment, “Ant-Man and the Wasp” wisely allows super-heroics to take a backseat to comedy, and gives the audience a chance to catch its breath after the almost overwhelming non-stop intensity of “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and even the adult-oriented “Deadpool 2,” all released earlier this year.
Marvel-based pictures are sometimes suspected of being in danger of overkill—of inundating the movie-going audience with an overabundance of new products competing for the viewer’s entertainment dollar. This possibility was recently driven home by the lackluster performance of this year’s “Star Wars Anthology” picture “Solo.”
Only the tenth picture in the “Star Wars” series since 1977, “Solo” is the first film in the franchise’s history to fail to earn back its budget costs even after five weeks in wide release. By comparison, “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is the twentieth picture in what is known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the fifty-third movie since 1989 based on a Marvel-based comic book.
A sequel to both 2015’s “Ant-Man” and 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp” reunites most of the cast of the 2015 picture. Former petty thief and ex-convict Scott Lang escapes from house-arrest to team again with physicist Hank Pym and his brilliant daughter Hope van Dyne and assume his identity as the miniscule superhero Ant-Man in an effort to rescue Hope’s mother from her imprisonment in the molecular quantum realm.
The trick to enjoying a movie like “Ant-Man and the Wasp”—or any picture in the Marvel Entertainment Universe, really—is to not allow yourself to be too impressed with the science: It’s all theoretical, which essentially means that nobody understands it any better than you do. This is the kind of stuff the guys talk about on television’s “The Big Bang Theory.” And the filmmakers use it in the Marvel pictures as a sort of distraction, to get you thinking about something else while they’re cooking up a big surprise for you in the next scene.
In the case of “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” the result is nearly a satire, a comedy which seeks to make some fun of the gravity and ponderous self-importance of the other movies in the Marvel series. Ignore the science and the technical terms, and even the story: This is what a Marx Brothers comedy would’ve looked like if somebody had given Groucho and the boys a $200 million budget and the services of the most talented special effects craftsmen in the world.
As in the earlier “Ant-Man” picture, the comic actor Paul Rudd is a lot of fun as the hapless Scott Lang, doing as well as he can to be a good role model for his adorable daughter while still housebound with an electronic monitor locked to his ankle by government authorities, a result of the events depicted in “Captain America: Civil War.” The Canadian-born actress Evangeline Lilly is simultaneously effective and impressive as Hope van Dyne, Scott’s estranged love interest and occasional rescuer. Lilly, who also appeared as the elfin Tauriel in Peter Jackson’s “The Hobbit” trilogy, possibly used her experiences in those pictures as a warmup for her size-shifting acrobatics here.
Likewise, old pros Laurence Fishburne and Michael Douglas are more fun than they’ve ever been, playing old friends and professional rivals, a sort of Hope and Crosby for the new millennium described by director Peyton Reed as having been partially modeled on competing computer geniuses Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. At one point in the narrative, through the miracle of computer-generated imagery Douglas plays a scene as he appeared at around the time of 1972’s “Napoleon and Samantha,” a Disney picture from the very beginning of his career as an actor. The results are astonishing…and even a little scary.
Also appearing in the cast are Hannah John-Kamen as an unstable victim of quantum science, a wonderfully clueless Randall Park as Scott’s parole officer, and Abby Ryder Fortson as Scott’s patient, understanding, and tolerant young daughter. Marvel Comics pioneer Stan Lee contributes his customary cameo. And Michelle Pfeiffer appears in a few scenes during the picture’s final quarter as Douglas’ wife and Lilly’s mother, imprisoned in a sort of cosmic Phantom Zone.
But the picture is almost stolen away from the others by the wonderfully talented Michael Pena as Luis, Scott’s partner and former cellmate. Pena is a genuine delight, almost unbearably funny especially during a scene when the bad guys inject his character with “truth serum” to extract some information…and then can’t shut him up.
The product of no less than five writers, including Chris McKenna of television’s “Community” and “The Mindy Project” and star Paul Rudd, “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” although certainly not a classic, is non-stop fun, filled with dazzling special effects, dizzying stuntwork, and daring car chases. It’s actually more in the tradition of Disney’s live-action films of the 1960s than the current palette of existential Marvel ruminations…although mid-credit scene at the picture’s end brings the characters up-to-date with the events depicted in “Avengers: Infinity War,” and sets up the inevitable sequel.
As is the case with most collaborations between Disney and Marvel so far, “Ant-Man and the Wasp” is expected to earn enormous amounts of money at the box office—some sources place the expected global total as high as $155 million over the opening weekend alone. Critical response has also been high, with Rotten Tomatoes reporting an 86% approval rating and Metacritic reporting a similar 70%. Exit audiences polled by CinemaScore assign the picture a final grade of A-minus, slightly less than the A grade earned by “Ant-Man” in 2015.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is rated PG-13 for its comic book violence, and some rude humor which kids might need to explain to their bewildered parents.

It is a Marvel movie so there is a team behind this who makes sure the film will get laughs, engage the audience just enough without losing them and execute a balance story of emotion and plot. With that said, the first one was better. There are many more elements and depth in this but I don't feel the execution was all there. Am I trying to spoil this? No. If anything it's best to lower your expectations so the movie becomes more impressionable. Breaking it to you now so you don't go in with higher expectations than this movie can make good on. Would still recommend it.

Great fun. Never saw the original Ant-Man in theaters and was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on blu-ray. I saw this in theaters and it was great. Ties in well with MCU and leaves you wanting more after the credits roll...was Scott protected from the snap because he was in the quantum realm? Or was he just 50/50 spared? Did Cassie survive? How will this tie into Endgame?

If you watched this right after Infinity War like I did, then it provides some comic relief following the harrowing events of IW. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are perfect together and it provides a great segue into Endgame with its plot surrounding the Quantum Realm. Even on its own, this movie holds up well. Another hit from Marvel Studios.

Ant-Man and the WASP takes place during Infinity Wars. Storyline is actually really good where is Ant-Man and wasp are battling a woman who's almost like a ghost trying to correct her phasing problem. Meanwhile dr. pen is trying to go into the micro-world and find his wife. Michael Douglas plays a great character with Dr Pim and they have a woman who played the exceptional wife Michelle Pfeiffer. If you're a Marvel fan this is a must have the Ant Man was good but I think beyond a shadow of a doubt Ant-Man and the WASP is better.

I've got a heck of a positive bias towards marvel movies, admittedly. I like almost all of them, although some more than others. This is at least in the top ten, as it is another one filled with laughs and great visual spectacle. As good as the first, maybe better, but if you didn't like that one this one won't change your mind.

I was really surprised how well Paul Rudd made Ant-Man come to life with such hummor and knee slapping good times. It is fun for the whole family and I am always surprised that they were able to take Ant-Man and make it such a great character. Well done Marvel. The 4K version is well worth the few extra bucks. Marvel really couldn’t have casted Ant-Man any better even if they tried, Paul Rudd IS Ant-Man. This installment has Hope van Dyne finally donning her Wasp suit and joining in the micro adventures against Ghost. And of course, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michael Peña as Luis take this movie up another notch.

Always love the ant man movies! He has such a humorous personality that liven up a movie! Was so awesome to see Evangeline Lilly take up the wasp mantle. Made such a fun team and their outfits looked so good in 4K quality! Great intro to the quantum realm aspect, which will come into play big time in Avengers:Endgame.

I had some Best Buy points to spend and this movie was on my list. The Ant Man movies are a lot of fun. The first one is better but this on isn’t far behind. Of course, right after I buy it, it shows up on Netflix! Definitely going to start checking first before I buy movies. I would have bought Doctor Strange instead.

This flick is a much better movie then the first Antman IMO. Probably, because it is not as slow and is a faster paced movie. It's action-packed and just as hilarious as the first Antman. A must see for any Marvel MCU fan. The steelbook is very cool. It comes in a matte finish, but still looks fantastic.

Overall great purchase.
