Easy hook up and programming. You will need to move the antenna around until you find the best place for the most channels. The more open space towards KC the better it will work. I gave it a 4 due to the tree I have, I had to put the antenna on the far side of the window to get the most channels. This works for me and I am very happy with it.

Two stage testing: 1. Connected cable to TV (LG-OLED) antenna input without the HDTV antenna connected. Ran find channels and none were reported with a signal - kind of expected this. 2. Connected the antenna, re-ran find channels and 49 channels appeared. 3. Then connected the amplifier inline, re-ran find channels and 53 channels were listed. I bought this as a gift; my son took it to Virginia and was able to get a few dozen channels on his TV. Large apartment building with tall garages and buildings. Overall satisfied with results. I recommend this, AND I caution to take it home, try it out without using the adhesive in case YOUR results are not to your liking.

Thanks Chuck! There is only one side of the Sure Grip strip that is adhesive, the other side is a silicone, so it won't permanently stick to any surface. Antennasdirect

I have to say I didn’t expect much when it came to trying one of these. Boy was I wrong. The cable is plenty long for you to find the best spot for channels. It took me about 3 programming tries in 3 different spots to optimize what the TV received. Once that was done this thing has been flawless. Picture is great on the channels you would expect. If you’re trying to cut cable you can’t go wrong with this investment.

This antenna works great, BUT it depends on where you live. We were able ton get 40 over the air channels. Then I bought a $18 non powered antenna and picked up 39 channels. So it all depends on how far away you are from the local stations. Would test a cheap one first then try this one if your reception is bad.

This antenna delivers crystal clear reception, but I think it is not receiving as many stations as are within range.

Easy to install and use. Has great range (40+ miles). Previous antennae would struggle to pull in over air stations, but this antennae doesn't have a problem. Great buy.. Also has sleek design and can be hidden taped behind TV.

I purchased the antenna and was happily surprised with how easily I could set it up. (Not technical.) It picks up the local channels as advertised, including the HD ones. Beautiful, clear picture. I couldn't be more pleased.

Purchased for my son who lives in the Chicago far south suburbs. He's able to,pick up 20+ channels clearly. Set up was a breeze and the antenna hides nicely behind his entertainment center. Very happy with this purchase!

The reception is excellent (HD quality) for local channels. The picture quality is better than the one I was getting with cable (non HD). I get a number of channels and the antenna is easily concealed behind furniture.

I was skeptical that this or any antenna would work in my suburban home. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I got 56 channels with this device hooked up inside my home! Admittedly, most of the channels were either religious or Spanish but it also received four networks, a few "cable" channels, and two PBS channels.

    Not all antennas are equal

No antenna picks up all signals from all directions. Each is designed for a very specific purpose and if you expect it to do something else you may be disappointed. Be aware that this, or a similar antenna, may not be enough to pick up all the stations you want. This antenna, and I believe this applies to all flat HDTV antennas, is NOT omnidirectional. Online reviews often list them as omnidirectional but the manufacturers are much more careful in their descriptions. The antenna should be placed on an outside wall facing the TV towers you wish to pick up. The direction does not need to be exact, but turning the antenna 90 degrees will impact reception. In my case it reduced the number of channels I could pick up. This style antenna is also designed for UHF reception. Most, but not all, HDTV stations are UHF. This antenna will pick up some VHF signals depending on their frequency and direction. When setting up my antenna, all the major networks but one were broadcast on UHF from the east of my home. The other was broadcast on VHF from the south. No orientation of this antenna would pick up every station. I contacted Antennas Direct customer service and they responded quickly and helped figure out a solution. I needed to add a VHF antenna to my setup, and together with this antenna, they work perfectly. Customer service was great! The web site tvfool.com can be used to show the location, frequency (UFH or VHF), and direction of channels at your address. Focus on the chart that lists the stations in descending order of signal strength to best understand what you will need from an antenna.
