ClearStream MAX-XR Packs a Punch!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MAX-XR is the best I've found in a while, and I install the things, so I know. Good price, too. Doesn't break the bank, but delivers a bunch of channels.

Fantastic attic antenna
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the ClearStream MAX-XR antenna for over a year. It needs to be assembled, but it's quite simple & will take less than 10 minutes. It does not come with a coax cable. I originally had it installed behind the TV & it performed well. After a short time the only high-VHF station in our area started coming in broken while the UHF stations continued to have strong reception. I believe the VHF station may have cut its transmitted power. I moved the antenna into the attic & it now receives 41 local stations, including the PBS station that is 90 degrees & 30 miles from the other transmitters. My house is surrounded by trees, so a little elevation helps the antenna pick up the signal better. I strongly recommend the ClearStream MAX-XR antenna, especially if it can be roof or attic mounted.

Digital Air Channels free
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My home location contains a 120 degree sweep area of two major groups of broadcast channel tower locations, 11 miles and 8 miles away respectively. I have a clear view of one group of towers and an indoor antenna worked, but not for the other set of towers. The local broadcast channels charged a monthly fee to be included in the internet streaming app...now no more. I get all the Digital air channels with this antenna. I improvised on installation and put it upside down to fit my situation. Meets the expectations.

Picks up stations far away
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We live in Florida where there are no mountains so we get many more channels than we can watch. For example, we get 5 PBS channels, all of the major networks, multiple Spanish channels, one Greek channel, one Japanese channel, a weather channel, several news channels, several channels that carry older tv shows in reruns, a western channel, a SiFi channel, several mystery channels, multiple true crime channels, two channels that carry comedies, a business channel, two game show channels, and even a channel called nosey that carries shows like Springer. There are more than these, pretty sure some for sports too, ....but I figured this would give you an idea that it picks up lots of stations including some that are quite far away. My guess is that if you can get the signal, this will pick it up.

So much better than those cheap inside antennas!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was fairly easy to assemble and install, but best of all is the great signal we are getting for all the OTA channels in our area! We live 20-22 miles from all of the towers (but luckily they are essentially in a cluster and in just one direction from our house). Our living room is on the opposite side of the house from the towers, so the inside antennas never worked well for us. We couldn't get one signal (ABC) and another would intermittently go out for a few seconds at a time (CBS). We mounted this on the roof with a clear line of sight towards the cluster of towers. Now we get a clear signal for all stations. Our Roku TV says we have 4 out of 5 bars of signal strength on everything except for ABC, which is 2 bars. But all channels are coming through clearly, without any interruption.

Totally worth it!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardest part of installing this antenna is climbing the ladder. Thankfully, the antenna itself is not heavy at all. Assembling the antenna is quick and easy. You will get a better signal if you install it outdoors and as high as possible. I have an early 2000s HD TV that still had a TV tuner built-in, and I picked up around 70 channels in our metro area. However, if you plan on using a splitter to get the signal to multiple TVs, then you will want to buy the model with the powered signal amplifier. Initially, I had it plugged into a 4-way splitter and one of the channels was popping up low signal strength errors. As I only was connecting the one TV, I pulled the splitter out of the loop and the issue disappeared, and I picked up a couple extra channels. The picture is very crisp! And, no monthly cable bills!

Easy set up. Cut cable. 40 channels.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to assemble. My husband took the old direct tv dish off the pole and attached the new antenna to it. Used the coaxial cable already there that runs into our house and attached it to the antenna. We scanned and get 40 channels. So far, we are happy with this purchase.

Much better than grandmas antenna!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this hoping to get the big 3 channels and watch football this season, so far i do not regret my purchase. I like streaming but im tired of paying an arm, leg and several teeth to not have FOMO on Sundays. Works great in my apartment, have it indoor and signal goes through several walls without issue. 10/10

Great antenna--plan a few hours for install
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have only had this for two days, but so far so good. We purchased this along with (1) the Tablo Over-The-Air DVR & Streaming Player and (2) the Rocketfish 50' Indoor/Outdoor RG6 Coaxial Cable with F connectors. The antenna was easy to install, but it did take several hours on a Sunday. These are the basic steps I followed: 1. I assembled the antenna. This was very easy. The enclosed directions are simple to follow. The antenna is very lightweight. 2. I placed the Tablo next to our wifi router for good connection. I then powered it up and downloaded the app to my phone. The Tablo automatically connected to my phone app. 3. I connected the coax cable to the Tablo and routed the cable to the exterior of the house and up to the chimney, This involved drilling a hole to the exterior of our all-brick house. More challenging than I expected. 4. While on the roof, I connected the coax cable to the antenna and attempted to use the Tablo app to find the best direction to point the antenna. This app feature didn't work for me. 5. I attached the mounting bar to our chimney, which was relatively easy with the proper drill. However, I did go to the hardware store and get stainless steel hex bolts and masonry anchors. I filled the holes with all-weather silicone caulk. (the bolts that came with the antenna did not seem appropriate for outdoor use.) The mounting bar is adjustable on a single axis. I mounted it so that it was perpendicular to the ground. 6. I attached the antenna to the mounting bar. I was doing this on my own and, although easy, it was a bit awkward; would have been easier with two people--one to hold the antenna pointing in the desired direction and the other to tighten the wing nuts. I used the compass on my phone to know where to point the antenna--in the general direction of our local T.V. stations' transmission towers, most of which are in/near our downtown core. The mounting clamp allows one to pivot the the antenna around the mounting bar to get it pointed in the correct direction. 8. I used the Tablo phone app to scan for stations. We have 160 stations available to us. Surprise! (I only care about receiving the major networks.) 9. I downloaded the Tablo app to a Roku device and to a Samsung Smart T.V. and tested the reception. We are receiving all the major networks and the picture is crystal clear. The only shortcoming is that stations are a bit slow to load, but that is a Tablo issue, not an antenna issue. As far as the antenna goes, it is getting great reception, but I wonder how it will hold up in our November wind/rainstorms. I recommend the Antenna's Direct antenna, along with the Tablo and the indoor/outdoor coax cable. Sidenote, it was surprisingly difficult to find indoor/outdoor coax cable. I checked 3 hardware stores; none carried it. I hope this step-by-step run through is helpful; when we were considering buying this antenna, I had a lot of questions about installation.

Our 2nd ClearStream Antenna.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first antenna was installed in June 2023 along with a new TV by the Geek Squad. Last month, that antenna stopped receiving channels from Boise, 50 miles away. So, I got this one as it fit on all the previous hardware and installed fast. I hope it lasts longer than the first one.

Great antenna
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great antenna! I'm actually picking up pretty much all local channels and getting little to no connections issues. This is by far the best antenna I have ever had. Only downside is that it doesn't have a flat side and they expect you to mount it on the wall. Guess the size is also a bit big but it's worth it if you're sick of getting crappy quality and having the local channels freeze.

Excellent so far, no regrets
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't hesitate to rate this 5 stars. It is far superior to my previous antenna, bringing in at least twice as many stations, and this is without boosting the height of the mast as I intend to do in the future. Stations at least 100 miles away are crisp and clear, even though there are several tall trees surrounding my house.

Outstanding value, worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with the household name in antennas and it didn’t dissapoint. Installed it in the attic and wired to the house coax. Perfect reception without any adjstments, really plug n play. Enjoying free HD channels in lossless Dolby Digital sound. Set it up with my Denon receiver and speakers and BOOM! Greatness. The only regret is not cutting cable sooner. Saving $1200/year with this move.
