Customers recognize Anthem's fun and smooth core gameplay, praising the exhilarating flying mechanics and the immersive open world. However, they also point to issues such as lengthy loading times, a lack of content at launch, and persistent bugs affecting the overall experience. While some appreciate the game's story and price point, others find the loot system and server stability problematic.

Graphs are awesome and the transition from flying to running or swimming is very nice. Still has a lot of bugs and needs more end game content, but it has the potential to be an awesome game.

Gameplay is fun but the story is uninteresting. I find myself skipping any and all cutscenes. My only gripe is that flying is cut short by a cool down for the thrusters. Although fun at first, I’ve found myself dropping the game a week after release due to repetitive gameplay.

Despite negative coverage that I've seen since release, they've been working hard to bring updates and fix a lot of issues, and it's actually really fun to play, especially with friends.
Word has it they've gotten rid of some of the "Upper Echelon" who had negatively impacted the direction this game and they're bringing a huge update in the future to breath new life and completely rework entire facets of the game. (Players call it Anthem 2.0/Anthem Next)
After the introduction missions and you reach level 2 you'll be able to select 1 of 5 different Javelins.
You'll be stuck with that until you reach level 8, so I recommend you check out some youtube videos on the choices before you commit. It's not bad as long as you like your choice.
I'd recommend using a headset and turning on Voice to Text(transcribes for players that don't have headsets) so you can communicate with your party outside of the 5 default text strings.
The community isn't toxic like some games, and everyone is pretty cool. Mostly adults, but there are some kids on here so don't bring any toxicity to it either please.
The game will automatically try to pair you up with other players in groups of up to four, but you can join the PSN community or hang out in the launch bay to connect and party up with others for a more effective team to take on harder difficulties to maximize experience and loot.
Though if you find a good team I would use the PSN party features and not rely solely on the game, as it's communication is limited, only letting you communicate in prep or javelin gameplay, not loading screens or menus.
Brass tacks; The UI outside of javelin gameplay is dreadful but the javelin experience is extremely exciting and not as buggy as it used to be.
The loot system is rewarding and you'll almost always find a new piece you like.
The load times are long, 45 to 90 seconds, and quite often, so I'd recommend getting an SSD to play this game and it'll shave 30 to 45 seconds off load times.
TL;DR
It's still a little buggy, but if you like hack n slash shooter parties get this game!

This game was supposed to be the bomb when the trailer first dropped. Sadly, it lacks a ton of what was originally shown. The updates have helped, and it has improved with time, but it still falls short of what was promised originally.

I saw the E3 trailer and it was amazing. Then we all found out it was all fake. I played the closed beta and love the iron man feel to the javelin. But the servers crashed a lot and I could barely play any missions I’m the closed beta.
When EA access came out I watched videos and read about all the tech issues and decided to pass on the game. I just finished it a few days ago and thought it was fun but missions repetitive. I only paid $20 and I thin my that’s what it’s worth. The story was ok but the dialogue was well written. The environment were to familiar with not enough variety. I just traded it in and got back $7. I was worth the 30 plus hours I spent playing it. I played a lot by myself which was more challenging and fun on hard. I got up to level 20. Playing co op was too OP since everyone was higher levels than me.

It has a ton of flaws, and definitely feels unfinished- but I think a year from now this will be a great game. The core gameplay is great and flying around feels awesome.

I like the game and it could be great, but in it's current state it only gets three stars. Their are enough bugs in the game to make it annoying. The game itself, gameplay and stuff is fun. I think it will get better, so you may want to wait to buy it.

Game has much in need of fixing. Bugs left and right and they're inconsistent. Is still fun to play, but I can only play with one friend at a time or a bunch of random.

This is an alternative to Re-Buying Destiny every couple months. Huge open world and numerous different kinds of enemies. Would of given it a 5 if it was first person.

Fun fast combat with a co-op player vs environment focus. The game looks great, but has some early bugs or tech glitches that interrupt the fun sometimes. I'm sure will get smoothed out in time and content will continue to be added as indicated by their roadmap. It's a looter shooter with light rpg elements as you level up and take on the Dominion !

A lot of people dislike this game, and I think some of that is justified. But it seems people are more upset for what they didn't get versus what they got. Expectations are funny thing.
However, if you are just looking to feel like a magic-wielding Iron Man for a couple dozen hours, this game is a ton of fun! It's especially satisfying playing with a full squad at a high level.
I'm not going to lie and say the game is perfect, but I will say it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets. I play for a around 30 hours. I feel like I got what I paid for.

At its current sales price this was a no brainer. This was a AAA console title that failed to meet many expectations BUT the devs have finally teased a new roadmap to develop it into what was initially promised.

When I first saw this game at E3 a couple of years ago, I was pretty excited to play it. It looked to me like Warframe meets Destiny meets Iron Man.
In reality, we got another extremely disappointing game from Bioware. Part of the reason I loved DragonAge and the original Mass Effect trilogy was the story telling and game play. While Anthem's game play isn't bad, it has some pretty horrible writing.
The game's story line is complete hogwash, and doesn't leave you feeling anything for the characters or the world. Not only that, but I found myself skipping it every chance I got, because it was full of absolutely useless dialogue and horribly written jokes.
Stay away from this. It could have been so much better, but instead was another massive letdown.
