A durable compact product. A little bit heavy to carry around. The setup is very simple and straightforward. It will takes you up to 14 hours to fully charged. After that, you don’t have to worry about interrupt your game due to power outage.

Probably the most important part of a computer is the power supply because it is the "blood" that the system needs to operate. In order to protect your computer, you should spend money on a basic surge protector, but if you are going high end, then don't cut corners! -No coil whine -Prevented 2 failures during summer brown-out -Provides an added layer of clean power for PC My overall PC is very high-end ($5K) and I feel like a dummy having bought this last, but I'm glad I own it!

So far so good! Works well for our needs, we utilize this on a rolling office cart with an attached Mac. I unplug and go from room to room as needed with attached device not needing to be restarted each time.

To start off, I've had all sorts of surge protectors and power conditioners over the years, but I never really had a dedicated UPS with Battery backup. Why? Just never really figured I needed one. The power conditioners were more or less a step up over a typical surge protector and helped with mitigating dirty electric. While there are certain surge protectors that are good at mitigating such interference due to EMI, they don't remove it completely.. Have you ever plugged an electric guitar or alternative instrument into an AMP and got static or hum? This is is just one example out of many. *Enter the APC Backup UPS* What makes this product special is the fact that it uses sinewave conversion. Meaning, the power is taken from wall (AC), routed through the unit and cleaned up before hitting sensitive electronics such as a desktop PC, gaming monitor and or high frequency 8000hz gaming mice and keyboards. This contributes to: -Cleaner waveform. -Improved linear performance and spike mitigation for high powered graphics cards. -Longer performance and insurance that capacitors don't prematurely get worn out. Mine is currently being used with my main 12900K desktop PC, though I did test it with a bunch of electronics that are susceptible to general EMI. Happy to report no hum or anything abnormal on that end. PROS: -Sleek and modern design. Has 2x USB-A and 1X type C out of front. -Nice menu to check statistics and current power draw fed to unit. For example, playing Counterstrike 2 with my current system draws around 400W total power between PC, monitors and speakers. -10 Power ports, 6 Dedicated to battery backup. 4 with regular EMI/surge protection. -Coax EMI mitigation for those with DOCSIS modems near your PC. CONS: -Very heavy unit. Might need help moving it around. Not exactly a con, but I figured I mention it for sake of practicality. -Ethernet data port is only 1G. Seems like a missed opportunity for 2.5 or 5G. Most consumer gaming PC's are standard 2.5G with 5G ports taking over as of 2025. ISP's will end up deploying 10G service in most US areas by early 2030. -LED has no ability to shut off, just capable of cycling between alternative colors. NEUTRAL: -Seems to be capable of up to 900W of power. I think this is more than enough, but if you plan on running a newer Nvidia 5090, you might want to find a unit that is more capable. Especially with a modern high end Intel CPU from last generation. USE: Can definitely notice that the unit helps mitigate EMI and provide stable performance when moving around my mouse on a 360hz monitor. My other basic power strip is a bit different feel wise. This is subjective, but something I wanted to share. I use my PC around 6 hours a day and I'm a little sensitive to subtle change. A positive factor for sure. The battery backup portion works good. I tested this manually by turning off the circuit breaker on my panel for the room my PC is in. It seems to last around 30mins before completely shutting down. I'd say this is enough time for me to power down my setup and ensure no damaged equipment from random thunderstorms. Really enjoy cycling the menus, but I tend to leave mine on total wattage draw from wall. Gives me an idea if something is wrong with my PC setup. I peaked around 500W full load. OVERALL. I think it's a great modern design and fits a 2025 aesthetic quite well. Older units look like they were conceived 10 years ago. Everything is within expected performance along with screen/performance providing excellent objective feedback and ease off use. I wish there was capability for 2.5G+ ethernet passthrough and or multiple ports, but I'm just nitpicking here. It is also a little heavy, and I wish the LED's can be turned off from a general standpoint. My only real concern is that the battery will need to be replaced sooner than later due to the nature of the product. I'd also recommend placing the unit on a solid floor and not carpet... otherwise desk given it does have a large battery.. Just general safety concerns.. Overall, 5/5 from me. I really like it.

The display is angled, making it easy to see whether on your desk or on the floor. This nice-looking unit comes in at twenty-five and a half pounds. This is not a low-end UPS/Battery backup. It not only protects your gear from surges but also has the most stable power when there's an actual outage and full signwave power, providing your equipment with surge protection and automatic voltage regulation as it's full-time job whether you are on backup power or just running your gear. This means that it helps you to get the maximum lifespan for your gear, helps to avoid system instability and crashes, and even helps to insulate your gear from sound interference. If you have a desktop computer or console system, you need an excellent UPS/Battery backup to protect your gear, and it helps to prevent lost game saves. If you are not a gamer, you still need a good UPS/Battery backup to protect your investment in those large-screen TVs, sound systems, and streaming services, along with NAS and network gear. The Reactor circle visually alerts you to remaining power, surges, dips, power outages, and building wiring faults. The front has 3 USB smart charging ports ( two Type-A + one Type C) to plug in your wireless gaming devices, mobile phones and personal devices. I was able to charge my phone on fast charge rate with the USB-C port. Rear LEDs illuminate the ten total outlets (6 x NEMA 5-15R, of which are battery backup and surge protection, and 4 x NEMA 5-15R, which are surge protection-only outlets) to help you see exactly where you're plugging in your gaming gear. Its surge energy rating is 1080 Joules. The Automatic Voltage Regulation corrects voltage dips and surges to proper levels. I had set up a friend's computer with an APC UPS/Battery backup whose home was later struck by lightning that went down the electrical wire of the house cooking the APC UPS/ Battery backup, but his expensive computer was saved and unscathed. APC sent them out a new unit. I have a pretty intense gaming rig with two 34-inch gaming monitors. This unit gives me plenty of time to exit my programs and properly shut down my machine if I lose power. If I am not attending to the machine, the PowerChute program will shut down my system before running out of battery power. Living in an environment with AC ( line noise and possible surges) and electrical storms gives me confidence that my computer systems will have a long life without power-related problems. Things I would wish for from APC: The LED color selection is nice, but I would like the option of turning off the back outlet lights when not needed. The APC logo is a bright white light. I want to turn the light down or off or at least color it like the rest of the lights. I was surprised that the network ports were only rated at 1Gb. I would think at this time in home networking, it would be at least a 2.5 Gb port, but I would really like to see it being rated for 10 Gb. Because the outlets are close together, I need to use 3-prong short extensions. To keep the size of the unit down, it would be nice to have this kind of outlet with the cords attached. Also I would like to see an economical version that was 1000 Watts or more of power since having a couple of game consoles and a high end gaming computer is more common.

TLDR: THE Battery Backup to get if you want RGB lights to match your gaming setup, have money to spend, and don’t mind a crowded plug area. Let me be clear: I’m very happy with my new APC Backup Battery. I live in Washington, and while we don’t get hurricanes or tornadoes, we do still get lots of rain, mud and wind. The weather may not cause utility damage, but people in their cars do! My home is also attached to the areas smallest and most remote power station, and if the power goes down all over, we’re usually the last to get it back. Because of this, I’ve been using a small APC backup battery to help keep my internet ‘system’ going, along with a mid-sized home server pc. One my previous backup battery, I only had 3 plugs for all my devices, so I had to use adapters to fit everything at once. And when the power went off, I’d have about 5 minutes before the battery died. It was not ideal. Then I saw this beautiful device and had to have it. The battery is large, the device is built sturdy, and it’s been dead silent during normal operation. This guy has 6 plugs with battery backup and 4 without. It also has the useless (in my opinion) coax cable surge plug, and 3 usb chargers (2A + 1C). Having 6 backed up outlets is nice—no more multi-plug adapters are needed! But all the plugs are close together, and I had to use a short extension cord to plug in my internet access point due to an oddly-shaped “L” power adapter. Without the extension cord it consumed 3 outlets by itself, so using the extra cord was absolutely necessary. The additional 4 plugs aren’t linked to the battery, but still have surge protection. This is where I plugged in my monitor and table lamp. All in all, everything works perfect. The signal is a finely tuned sine signal, great for the electrical health of your gizmos and doo-dads. My power hasn’t failed since setup, but I went ahead and flipped the breaker, just for testing. With an internet access point, high-power Wifi 7 mesh router, cable modem, a 4-port network switch and the aforementioned server pc, the APC backup was showing a draw of around 115w (far below it’s estimated limit of 900w). It kept all my devices alive for over an hour before I got bored and flipped the breaker back on. I’m very happy with that result. Other features to point out include the RGB lighting (12 colors and multiple ‘shows’ available)—this is also defeatable, thought the APC logo stays lit up. It’s bright, but not enough to keep me awake at night. It’s also small enough to tape over with some black electrical tape if need be. I haven’t noticed any noise from the system, during backup or otherwise. It’s been 100% silent for my use. The black model collects dust like crazy, so be prepared to either dust it frequently or put it on a table top. Speaking of putting it on a table top, this thing is heavy (25lbs plus) and large (12” tall and 18” deep), so you may need to think ahead in terms of location. I love the LCD screen on the gaming model—it’s large and easy to read—but I do wish there was more functional ways of moving through the screens or making selections. The buttons aren’t especially accurate and sometimes their inclusion makes the system feel dated or lacking. A touchscreen would be really cool for the next generation, but I won’t hold my breath. Overall, I’m very happy with the function and design of the APC Gaming Pro battery backup. It has plenty of juice for all my necessary devices, and surge protects the ones that aren’t as necessary. If the spacing between the plugs were larger, this would be a 5-star product. I still highly recommend it for those in the market.

The product itself seems to be fine, the issue lies with Best Buy's listing. The image for this product listing the specifications as "2200va/1350w" are a lie. This product is 1500va/900w. I contacted customer service and was willing to keep the product, all I wanted was a small store credit of some sort as a gesture of appreciation for the inconvenience and error on the part, but they were not willing to do anything of the sort. Be careful trusting the specs you read on Best Buy's website, I would recommend checking the manufacturer website for anything you are considering purchasing as they don't seem concerned with making sure they display accurate information. Or simply avoid shopping at Best Buy.

The APC UPS Pro Tower is a welcome addition to any home electronics setup. I am personally running several consumer electronics items with this backup and so far, it has performed as expected. It is now the centerpiece of my gaming setup and it is running my receiver, subwoofer, gaming monitor, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, with plenty of room to spare. I also charge my controllers and phone from the convenient front facing inputs. With its built-in pure sine wave output and variable voltage correction, I feel comfortable knowing all of my expensive electronics are protected from dirty power and surges. Having used APC battery backup towers for years, I was pleased to see that they have finally updated the boring old rectangular gray towers. The updated sleek design showcases a new circular hub display surrounded by a color customizable LED ring of light, as well as an LED light on the back of the unit so you can actually see what and where you are plugging your items in. Great job, APC! This tower not only looks great, but it has more outlets than all of my previous towers, plus the added bonus of two USB A ports, and one USB C port, both front facing for convenience. This is the first battery backup I have owned that I want to keep visible instead of hiding under a desk, or behind a cabinet. On the back of the unit, there are 10 available spots to use for power. All 10 spots include surge protection, but only 6 of 10 spots deliver both battery and surge protection. The bottom two spots will accept “wall wart” type AC adapters, one of them for surge only, and the other for both battery and surge. Again, having the rear top down facing LED light is a nice touch so you can see what you are plugging into the tower in dark environments with ease. Having a battery backup for potential power outages can provide video game players with the ability to play through to the next save point without losing any ground. Build quality feels solid. It is heavy, as most tower battery backups are. This is not an issue for me, because after initial setup it stays put. The information presented on the round screen is bright and easy to read, even from a distance. A quick press of the menu button will wake up the screen and the text will be displayed. The screen and text will remain on for just over one minute before timing out and going black to conserve power consumption. The color LED ring and back illumination can be set to stay on, or be turned off completely if you choose. The only issue I ran into was that the first unit I received had a small part rattling around inside the front side of the case. This could have happened in shipping or production, but a quick chat with APC customer care had the unit replaced quickly and I was in business. In conclusion, I believe having proper power for all of my electronics to safeguard them from spikes, surges, and dirty power in general. Having used APC products for years, I feel comfortable that all of my electronic investments are protected and will prolong the enjoyment they provide.

I’ve been using APC battery backups (or uninterruptable power supplies) with my computing equipment for many years. This is my favorite model because I don’t feel the need to hide it behind my desk. It has a cool aesthetic that makes it look right at home next to my gaming rig. There is a large LCD screen with a customizable RGB ring light around it and the back also illuminates the same color to make plugging in devices easier. There are 5 power receptacles that are protected by battery and an additional 5 that provide surge only protection. There’s also two USB-A ports and a single USB-C port on the front for powering up portable devices like phones. While that seems like plenty of receptables for any gamer’s setup, they are located very close together, and with so many devices using power adapters of different sizes and orientations I could realistically only use about 3 of the battery receptacles. The USB ports are also not quick charge capable. There are buttons to wake the LCD screen and toggle through the different modes of information on the display, a button to toggle through the available RGB lightning options, a power button, and finally one to silence the alarm. The alarm is loud enough so that you should be able to hear it even when wearing headphones, giving you time to shut down your system safely in the event of a full blackout. You can also hold the alarm button to silence the alarm. In the event of a power anomaly, the ring light around the LCD screen will flash green to let you know of an issue and then move to yellow when the battery is under 50%, red when it gets down to 20% and finally will flash red as it gets below 5%. The display works similar to the other APC UPS systems I own and can tell you how much load is on the system, how long the battery is estimated to run for given the current load, and the current output of the system in volts, watts, and frequency. I use it with my desktop gaming PC but highly recommend that even laptop gamers use a UPS as it protects from both surges and dips in power. The APC will keep the voltage where it needs to be and outputs a pure sine waveform which is crucial for sensitive (and expensive) electronics. It also has passthrough protection for your low-voltage ethernet and coaxial cables allowing the UPS to take the brunt of a surge instead of your router or networking port. In the box you will also find a data port to USB cable which can be used to connect the UPS directly to your computer which enables power management features. When I connect it to my desktop, the UPS shows up as a battery and allows Windows to manage it as if it were a laptop. For example, if power is interrupted it will switch to a different power mode, adjusting my refresh rate and other system resources for energy efficiency. This allows me more time to get out of a game and shut the system down. The only other downside is like most battery backups, it is heavy, and therefore best placed on a floor. The APC Back-UPS Pro Gaming is what you've come to expect from APC uninterruptable power supplies, with a new look targeted at Gamers. From what I can tell, it is literally the same unit as their 1500VA 120V Pure Sine Wave unit with a re-skin and new display panel and some LED lighting. I've used these for work for years, and they are reliable and work perfectly, within reason. You will not be able to power any gaming system with monitor or TV for any substantial amount of time. Here is what to expect with different gaming platforms and use-cases, from my own real-world experience as well as APC's guidelines. 1. Network Equipment Backup ~100W - Router, Switch, ISP Modem. You will get around 1 hour of usage or less, depending how much each device draws. If you have PoE (Power over Ethernet) on your switch, this will drain your UPS even faster. This is really best for handling quick power surges and brief power outages in a commercial environment. 2. Home Gaming System ~180-300W. Around 20 minutes max. This does NOT include your TV or any other equipment like receiver, router, etc. TVs will use another 45-90W so this will drop time again by around 1/3rd, so maybe 10-15 minutes if you have only the console and TV plugged into the UPS. 3. Desktop PC Gaming System ~475W. 10 minutes. This is long enough to save your game, same any files you want backed up, and shut down gracefully. My Gaming PC uses closer to 600W during gaming, so this isn't super practical. 4. Laptop PC Gaming ~200-275W. 20 minutes. Similar to consoles, but the nice thing is laptops also have batteries already, so it is like a double backup. I personally wouldn't use the UPS with a laptop since it already has a battery. 5. Networking gear at Home. 50-100W. At least an hour, but up to 3 hours. This is what I am using my UPC for. Why? Because I have enough devices, including my laptops, tablets and phones that I can use that have batteries that allow me to survive a power outage....as long as I have internet. I can watch shows, browse the web, write emails, get some work done, edit photos etc as long as I can connect to my network and that depends on whether my internet is up. I actually power both my router and my ISP ONT with this UPS, because the ONT needs power as well so if power goes out, that is the first thing that needs power before anything else in the house. In terms of functionality, it works great and provides pure sine wave power that won't damage your fragile electronics. If power goes out and it switches to battery, you'll hear a beep. The display is bright and easy to read and also serves as a Watt Meter which allows you to see what all the devices connected to it draw in terms of power, if you've ever been curious. This will help you decide what devices you want to keep on battery backup, vs. the ones that are just on surge protection. That's another nice benefit of this UPS, it is like a huge surge protector and has tons of power outlets as you'd expect. There's outlets that have battery backup protection and there's some that are just surge protection so keep that in mind when configuring your UPS. So yeah, just another solid product from APC/Schneider electric, the Gaming nomenclature is really just for looks more than anything but it does look very cool so no complaints there!

This APC Back-UPS ProGaming Battery Backup is the second model from this company that I've owned. The first one did what it was designed for, but over time, experienced some issues. So, I'm giving this one a try to see if there have been improvements made in the design and overall performance. While marketed towards gamers (which I am), this backup battery unit can serve many power supply needs. Noticeably, this version has an LED display on the top front side so that you can actually view the all-important stats of how the backup battery is performing. My previous model, did not. Plus, there are two USB ports, and one USB-C port right there on the forward front facing side of the device. Very convenient! The multi-color choice LED light on the back above the outlets is a nice addition, as well. The power cord itself is heavy duty and more than long enough. There are 6 surge protector/battery backup power outlets, and 4 surge protector only outlets. The only real issue I have with power plug-in devices of this kind is that of the spacing for the outlets themselves. Often, various electronic devices have "block/brick" style plugs, and it can be difficult to position them in a 'power strip' to be able to use all the outlets. *Be Aware* - this backup battery IS heavy at around 25lbs. There are two "car style" batteries inside the unit. The top and sides of the unit are vented. Providing decent airflow is important. Overall, I can definitely say that there have been many improvements with this APC Back-UPS ProGaming Battery Backup design. The shape is more streamlined, modern-looking, slimmer, and the LED display is certainly a plus. If you are in need of a solid, reliable short-term backup battery option for your home electronics - modem/router, gaming console, TV, etc. or even as a way to charge mobile phone should the power go out, then this unit could fill that need. It's also a smart way to try and prevent damage to those expensive devices if a sudden surge were to occur. Hopefully, I'll never have to find out if the surge protector aspect of this APC unit works as intended to prevent unexpected damage to my gaming equipment, but at least if the power should go out, I'm covered. Recommend.

A few weeks ago the power in my area went out. If everything isn't backed up or saved that can be a bummer. Luckily, for me I wasn't doing anything important. The APC Back UPS Pro solves that problem. Honestly, I see this as a "niche" accessory. The Professional or the serious gamer! Also, if you are in an area where the power flickers from time to time. This will be of great benefit. The Unit comes with a bright LCD screen. It shows how much time is left on the battery when used and the load capacity. The Back UPS PRO does have some weight to it but it is slim and sleek. You power protection and surge protection. You get 10 Outlets. 6 of them are surge and battery used. Meaning you get surge protection and will run off the battery for the allotted time. The other 4 are just surge protection. They will not run off the battery. You also get 3 USB ports which can be used to charge smaller devices. Also, one of the main benefits of the tower is it's dead silent. You don't hear it at all. The only Negatives would be the right. Also, again this is a "niche" product. For the "Hardcore" Gamer, Professional, or A Serious Content Creator. It's still a great addition to any setup. You'll have fun deciding what all to plug into the Back UPS! Just as I did!

The last thing any gamer wants is to lose progress while in the middle of a long session because of something out of their control such as a power outage. I have had a few different versions of APC’s products in my home protecting various devices such as my router and desktop PC, but having a unit that has enough juice to keep my consoles running is awesome. This battery backup works the same way as my others, seamlessly providing power in the event of an outage or brownout. It will keep my TV and PS5 or Xbox Series X running for 20-30 minutes, which is more than enough time to get the game saved and things shut down properly if the power doesn’t come back quickly enough. I had a quick brownout occur while I was playing this past week, and thanks to this backup I only even noticed it happened because the lights in my room went out during that moment. Since I was using a headset and the backup kept my system and TV on, I would never have known otherwise. That is at least until the beeping would have started which this backup battery will do if it is using battery power for more than a minute or so. Setup couldn’t have been much easier, other than the process of reaching into my entertainment center and unplugging everything from my old surge protector, determining what plug is for what device so I only have the correct items plugged into the battery and the rest into surge protection only, and then plugging everything in and hitting the power button. If I were to use this on a PC, I could have also used the included USB cable and software to allow the UPS to shut down the PC without my intervention, but that aspect is not available otherwise. For my TV and console gaming setup it is just right and has a nice aesthetic that brings some color via the RGB lighting and LCD screen for information about current consumption, state of charge, and load to the battery. Unfortunately, the glossy top layer is prone to damage, as mine was cracked right out of the box. It is just cosmetic and has no impact on its functionality but was still disappointing to see. It has more than adequate power for my setup, enough plugs to cover everything I needed including a few USB charging ports, looks good and does the job it is intended to do. There is hardly anything else I could ask for from it. It performs that job flawlessly and I am very happy to have my expensive equipment better protected from power surges and outages. If you are a serious gamer and want to protect your investment, you’ll be needing one of these.

Most UPS backups are hideous, but they're immensely useful for providing enough power to shut down or save your progress during a sudden power loss or brown-out… or simply to prevent having consoles complain (looking at you, PS5) after power is lost while they’re in sleep mode. Before finding this model, we were looking for just about any way to hide one in, or under, our living room media center. This one is designed to be seen and fits in well among our other quality electronics. Similar in size to comparable UPS', it just looks much more sleek and well designed. Its circle of light can be changed to match your preferred console’s primary color - or a range of others, including white. A button on the front turns on the screen to display battery level, input and output wattage/VA, etc. Since it’s just a battery, it will work with just about any other electronics or PC setup you have. But its capacity, throughput, and pure sign wave power (which can be necessary for more sensitive audio/analog equipment without having issues with sound artifacts) makes it suitable for these scenarios. On the back you’ll find a range of outlets and ports, most of which are battery + surge protected. One cool feature is a small light that shines down on these ports, simply making it easier to see where to plug in when it’s dark. - Neat! Ports on the front of the device allow you to plug in and charge other devices, though I don’t think I’d need to do that very often. These batteries aren’t the lithium cell styles you’re used to, their workhorse lead-acid batteries - reliable, heavy, but usually left stationary. Before first use, you’ll need to connect it inside the side door, but it’s nice in that you can easily replace it in the future should you need to. We’ve had it in use for several days and while we haven’t had any power-blips since then, we tested it by pulling the plug. It works! - Handling our TV, receiver, subwoofer and console without issue. Overall, it offers everything you might find in a UPS of similar specs, just with a much better aesthetic and plenty of throughput for most media or gaming setups. It’s everything we were looking for.

This APC UPS does what it is supposed to do, and does it well, however it is pricey for what it is and there may be less expensive choices. This is also considered a gaming UPS but I’m not sure what that means. It is just like any other UPS of its style. Power/time (sine wave) I have my gaming desktop, 49” monitor, and soundbar connected to it. During normal operation, it draws around 150 watts, and I can get around half an hour of battery time. When I am gaming, it draws around 450 watts, and I can get around 10 minutes of battery time. Does that get you through the boss fight that you just started? I don’t know. This is replacing another UPS I had which gave me 45 minutes during normal use and 15 minutes while gaming, so this is less. The output is a pure sine wave which is rare for a UPS but is the only kind I would ever use so this is a great thing. Outlets/USB It has five battery backup outlets and five surge protected outlets. This should be plenty for most applications. On the front of the unit, there are two USB-A charging ports and one USB-C charging port. It allowed me to rapidly charge the few devices I tried. I tried to research how much power the USB ports output, but nowhere could I find that information, I just know I can do a rapid charge. Display This has a display that can show various information such as input voltage/power, output voltage/power, events, and battery time remaining. There is a button that allows you to select what it shows. The biggest problem with it, and perhaps the UPS, is that pressing a button turns on the display but then turns off after a period of time. There doesn’t appear to be any way to set it to keep the display on. On my previous UPS, there is a setting to keep it on. Whether this is a problem or not is up to you, but I prefer to have the display stay on, which I can’t do. There is also an alarm that will sound when power is lost. In this case you can disable it, which is how I have it set. I’ll already know if I lose power to the house and don’t need the alarm. LED Ring There is an LED ring that surrounds the display. This acts as a meter depending on what is being displayed. If you display the output power, the LED ring will show this. If you display the battery time remaining, the ring will show that as well. I’m not sure how useful this is, but it does stay on even when the display is off, so I suppose that compensates for it, but again, I’d rather have the display stay on. You can also change the color of the LED ring. Software There is a special cable that connects the UPS to the computer through USB-A, but it is not a standard USB cable, so don’t lose it. This allows the UPS to shut down the computer when the battery is low. It also allows you to use their web application. The manual indicates you should download the PowerChute Personal software however that is obsolete based on the APC website. You should now use the PowerChute Serial Shutdown application, so the manual is out of date. The web app is simple but is well organized and gets the job done without being overly complicated. It installed without any problems. It gives you the status information that is on the display such as load and remaining battery time. There are also a bunch of settings such as how the UPS should shut the computer down and allow you to do an initial setup. After connecting the UPS the first time, the first thing you should do is install the software and go through the initial settings process. Another important thing to do is set the battery install date so you will know when it is time to replace it. This is all something that needs to be done on day one. Conclusion This is your basic UPS that works well although it is pricey for what you get. The sine wave output is a big plus, but the inability to keep the display on is a big minus. I would recommend it, but there may be other UPSs with the same options but less expensive and give you longer battery time. I still don’t get why this is called a gaming UPS.

I got this UPS as my old one was showing signs of age. I wanted a UPS that listed the battery time and output for my devices and I saw this on the website. So far, it's been great. I have my TV, modem, router, security system, PS5 and Xbox Series S connected to the UPS battery ports and there hasn't been an overloading event yet. Just need to see how it handles during a power outage and how long it will last. It does cost a pretty penny that I can't justify yet especially with the other APC and Cyberpower UPSs on the market.
