This set is by far the best I've purchased. It contains 3 distinct versions of the film along with hours of bonus content and my personal favorite, the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse which I've been excited to finally watch. An A+ is what this collection deserves. Well worth the price

The 40th Anniversary Edition of Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 classic has everything you could possibly want at a ridiculously low price: three cuts of the film -including the new 181 minute "Final Cut"- available in both 4K Ultra HD and standard 1080p blu-ray and hours upon hours of bonus material old and new should keep fans immersed for quite some time.
The only possible downside is the packaging is a bit iffy. But taking into consideration the amount of product you get for the price it is selling for, it's easy to overlook the overall packaging. If you're a fan of the film, this purchase is a no-brainer.

This is by far the best offering of Apocalypse Now. It has all the versions of the film with a new 4k transfer and improved sound including digital copies of all three versions . Loads of special features including The Heart of Darkness documentary which as compelling as the movie. Excellent price for a 6 disc set.

I ordered this movie Online and received it today ...... It was annoying that Best Buy said this was for online orders only .... Now i look today and best buy says this movie is for store purchase only, to be available two days after release , and my store has only one copy left ? I don't get it . I would have liked to buy the movie on release day at the store, and this has happened with a few movies that i bought this year. Other then that this movie is a Super Bargin for 6 discs, covering all versions and special features .... I cannot wait to watch it again in 4K.

This 4K transfer on this 40 year old film is really good, especially all the closeup details on Sheen’s face. Sound is 4/5 and could have maybe utilized the Atmos channels a little more.
I had only seen the original 1979 version before. The Final Cut has added scenes, some I liked some not so much. The French plantation scene adds some historical context, but doesn’t really seem needed to move the film along.
Overall it’s a definite must have if you’re a fan of Apocalypse Now.

Beyond the spectacular scenes, I watched it a couple of times and saw it as a thoughtful movie on VN war. Bookended by Duval's bravado and Brando's insanity, the mivie a lot of the contradictions of the war and US involvement.

Presented in 4k Dolby Vision, this remastered version of Apocalypse Now is the best 4k image that I have seen to date. Beautiful films grain. Beautiful colors, both primary and secondary colors. Includes 6 discs for 4k, Blu-ray and dvd and each type disc gets the Final cut version on one disc and the original theatrical version and Redux on the other disc. If you want to see your 4k tv demonstrate its capabilities, go buy this disc set now!

A great Vietnam film about insanity of war. This has the theatrical cut, Redux, and The Final Cut (an in-between cut between the other two), and also "Hearts Of Darkness" (though this is not 4k, only Blu). Some good features. Digital Copies of all three versions of the film in 4k (I did not get what the insert promised but I contacted the company via email on the insert and they fixed it lickety split). Great introduction to a film classic.

As one of my favorite all-time movies, it's great to see Apocalypse Now get such reverential treatment on home video. In an era with far too few genuine special editions, this Final Cut release boasts three cuts of the movie, sparkling 4K Dolby Vision transfers, new Dolby Atmos soundtracks, and what feels like every possible special feature available. Quite simply, this is everything I love about being a home theater enthusiast. Must Own.

Finished watching the theatrical cut. I’ll echo what others are saying, this is a gorgeous presentation; grain, color grading, black levels (the shadows for meeting Kurtz is just right), and highlights were faultless to me. The UHD will be my preferred viewing from here on out! If there’s one thing I would find as a fault it’s the exclusion of the additional audio options that aren’t on the UHD. This release is one of the best of the year!!!!

The film chronicles Capt. Benjamin J. Willard's (Martin Sheen) journey down a hostile Vietnam river to find and kill a crazed Green Beret, Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando). The majority of the film follows Willard and his shipmates (Laurence Fishburne, Sam Bottoms, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall) as they travel to their classified destination. Ultimately, Willard must face the horror of the world Kurtz has created.

An absolutely thought provoking and gut wrenching take on all views and standpoints of the Vietnam war. NOT for the faint hearted.
The 2160p specs really works with the filmic look of the movie, making the colors pop!

A Classic

A classic film. I do have another copy, the original, bought 20 odd years ago before Redux came out. However, I didn't have the Redux, and the newly edited version. Comparing the different versions, well, I don't think it's possible due to the editing. Each one offers a different aspect. To bring this film to Blu-Ray and have all 3, plus the extras, is a bonus.

First of all this is an old movie, so it may not be as much of a dramatic upgrade to 4K. However, the sound is definitely nice and there are some improvements throughout. This particular version includes so much in the way of extras that it’s almost too much. All in all, definitely a good buy for somebody who is a fan of this movie, this is the version to get.

This being one of my all time favorite films, I have to say that I didn’t particularly like the “final cut” of the film (theatrical still better to me) I will say however that the picture quality of this 4K is among the best I’ve seen! It looks like it was shot yesterday! The audio is also top notch has it has always been on all its other releases.

Coppola just assembled a new "Final Cut" of Apocalypse Now. Personally I prefer the Theatrical Cut because it is tighter and flows better. Picture quality is outstanding and it should be when it is presented in Dolby Vision HDR. I also am viewing this on an OLED display so that is pretty much as good as you can get. Highly recommended!

Tremendous film beautifully restored in 4k with 3 cuts of the film, one new for this edition.
Fantastic presentation with great audio mix and bonus features including the documentary.
The art of the packaging is also great though I wish there was more holding it together like a slipcover of some kind. On a shelf though there is no issue.

This release just set the standard for how to restore a movie for 4k. I went straight for the theatrical cut and wow. I've seen Apocalypse Now just about every way you can on home video and this was revelatory. I'll watch Redux and the Final Cut down the line, but this was like watching it for the first time, all over again.
