i was having a hard time figuring out if i should spend the extra 200 on the new ipad pro or purchase this one and as you can see i obviously chose the cheaper option. personally, i have no artistic skill or passion, so all the cool specs the M1 ipad pro has are wasted on me. i didn’t care for the improved camera either, i own the 12 pro max so if i need to take any pictures i’d preferably use that. i even own a macbook pro, i didn’t need this ipad as a laptop replacement. i simply wanted an ipad so i could read books and manga, and maybe even stream a few shows. with my few days of experience i can say, as a first time ipad owner, that i am enjoying my choice and purchase. i’m loving the quality and all the little things i can do with the ipad air. battery life seems great and everything’s running as it should be. the only thing that made me hesitate was the fact that the ipad air has touch id versus the ipad pro’s face id. i know we’re in a pandemic wherein having touch id is starting to seem like a better option, but since im mostly using it at home i do wish it had face id instead. i haven’t used it in public (stay inside!) but maybe ill feel more thankful for me touch id once i do. but even with this, the touch id is unquestionably fast, it even unlocks when im wearing long acrylics (with small struggle). all in all, this was a good purchase from me.

I was compared between iPad 8th generation and Air 4th Generation. The reason why I chose 4G Air is because the USB C port, 2nd Generation Apple Pencil compatibility. I am pretty prefer a USB C port/cable product. The 2nd Generation Apple Pencil has much more useful functions than older one. Wireless charging is also very useful. Battery life is very good. I really satisfied. Touch ID has pros and cons. The rate of Touch ID Recognition is unstable.

The iPad Air 4 is a huge upgrade from the previous versions. The full screen design is amazing. It has Touch ID, which is nice, but it’s placement on the power button makes it a bit uncomfortable to access in certain situations; Face ID would definitely be better. There’s also no headphone Jack, so you either have to use wireless headphones or purchase an adapter, but then you can’t charge and listen at the same time. Otherwise, it’s a fantastic device. Elegant design, fast speeds, great functionality.

THE GOOD Fast performance Excellent display and speakers Comfortable to use in both portrait and landscape All-day battery life THE BAD Base model has only 64GB of storage, getting more is a steep upcharge Front-facing camera is awkward in landscape orientation Touch ID is not as convenient as Face ID

I cam from an iPad Air 2 so this was a major upgrade. The screen looks great, it's super fast, and really light. The Touch ID sensor can be finicky depending on how your finger is orientated, but other than that it's a great iPad

I love my iPad Air..but coming from the iPad Pro I almost wish I had shelled out the extra couple hundred and purchased an 11 inch iPad Pro. I currently have a 12.9” IPad Pro 4th Gen and I have been blown away by what it is capable of. Yes, on paper the iPad Air sounds like it is the same as iPad Pro but when you use both back to back you can tell the difference. The air is lighter, and the screen does not have that pro motion which I thought wouldn’t make a difference but it does. The iPad Air is perfect for reading comics and books, the main reason I got it, but if I was going to watch a movie/tv show or use remote play for my PS4 I would prefer my iPad Pro. Same with drawing, the pro is just better and offers the best screen and features, but if you cant afford the pro the iPad Air is a close second. I’m baffled why apple chose to use Touch ID instead of Face ID on this as Face ID is very easy and my personal preference.

I was contemplating between air or the pro and finally picked up Air. I’m not a lot into art and drawing but heavily take notes for work and stream Touch response: can’t believe it to be so sturdy, , my gosh I cannot believe how much I miss Touch ID, getting used to the finger sender as am heavily into using the finger scanner ion the home button. Face ID is the amazing feature, with mask it roubles a bit but you have options. . Audio - is actually very good even though it only has 2 speakers it sounds really nice. Video - colors pop, video is super clean looking it feels smooth, yeah if you had the 120 hz the pro has it feels a little choppy but honestly I can live with this I forget and adjusted very well to this. General purpose - Great buy , great browsing experience, fast frame speed. Sturdy tablet with decent weight to it, I am very happy with this purchased. Cons : Long use it become hot like taxis summer and slippery.. Overall very happy with the purchase.

The iPad Air 4 is lightweight and beautiful the screen is gorgeous and the screen is laminated so it’s nice and crisp and clear,,,it’s lightweight and the Touch ID at the top of the device takes some getting used to but you get used to it…I bought the silver and the silver is nice and clean and low profile..it’s gorgeous… If your debating on the pro and the air 4 get the AIR It does everything the pro does..the pro has Face ID that’s the only difference… Get it….

I went back and forth on having an iPad for uni and finally got this one. No regrets. It’s expensive but it’s slim, insanely snappy and very professional. Touch ID on the power button isn’t the best (I’d honestly prefer face) but aside from that there is literally no reason I would by the pro over this one. Great iPad and packs a lot of value when you consider what your getting vs the price point.

Apple nails it again with this beautiful iPad. Pros - Build quality, design, speakers, display, audio and excellent performance. Cons - Only thing I felt difficult was to use touch id on top which is not always easily accessible.

Works great and surprisingly fast. Only complaint is that there is a bug in the os that requires you to use touch id for every app downloaded including free ones. The glitch does not allow you to disable this setting which can be done on iphone.

Great Ipad upgrade from the Gen 3. The Ipad is thinner and slightly larger screen. I like the loss of the touch id on the bezel vs the touch id on the side. Besides that there is not much more since I do not need the pen or extra horsepower. I had the Logitech touch keyboard case with a kick stand but the new one for this is more of a folio which made the ipad less desirable. I also wish it had the pro motion display and mini led tech for the $600 price tag.

Bought the color sky blue as it is almost like silver. The iPad is much faster than the previous version. One thing I don’t like is the location of the Touch ID button. Would’ve been better with a Face ID unlock.

It is a great snappy device from Apple at a price point which is much lower than IPad Pro and good value pick, However iPad Pro still wins - it has better screen, better speakers and above all Face ID is much more comfortable and possibly secure than the Touch ID built into the power button. Overall you wouldn’t go wrong with iPad Air especially with the magic keyboard added.

This was consumer reports top pick with brand new A14 CPU, higher than 11” iPad Pro with 3 year old A12 CPU. I fully agree with CR, but beware of dual marketed accessories. I bought a speck case and the lid detect magnet was located for iPad Pro 11”, so it didn’t work. Also, some cases cover the Touch ID button rendering it’s useless. Apple care is only $69 and I suspect it’s easier to repair. I briefly considered MBA M1, but the lack of touchscreen and the weird way it ran the iPad apps was a major turnoff.

I am a low-level tech user, but the on-screen set-up instructions were easy to follow, especially when combined with numerous online videos of the process. The Touch ID does not always connect, but password access is always available. It works beautifully for email and web-surfing, which are my main uses so far.

I bought it to take notes on the go, and I got an apple pencil 2 along with the flip keyboard. It works perfect! Just like I wanted. Make sure to know that IPad air doesnt support face ID, and you will need to place your finger on the ON button for Touch ID, which may be a little inconvenient, but easy to get used to.
