I bought it to recharge my iPhone faster than the AC plug that came with the iPhone. It definitely does that. I am very pleased.

I prefer to get the authentic apple charger as they seem to last a lot longer and work better. Only comment is the price on these remain fairly high given other competitors. Having said this I still shell out the extra money for the reliability and knowing that they will work 100% of the time.
