Customers are enthusiastic about the ease of use, performance, and screen size of the product. Many appreciate the design and find the built-in speakers surprisingly good. However, some customers find the price to be high and express concerns about the keyboard's size and functionality. The compact keyboard is a point of contention for some users.

This computer has been the best I've had in my life. I just bought it yesterday and I am already in love with it. The screen is extremely bright and the built in speakers are amazing. It is loud and clear with nice base to it. The price is a little much but hey you get what you pay for. I recommend this computer to anyone. It is easy to use and easy to set up. I would also the magic trackpad. I say this because the magic mouse feel a little unconfotable.

I would really like to thank the good people over at Microsoft for making Windows 7. Without that level of profound stupidity I may have gone years before finally joining the Macintosh family. It is so nice to sit down to use various programs and not play 40 questions with the computer before finally getting to use the desired program. The software makes sense. The functionality is superb. The computer has 1 wire going to it; the power cord. The speakers are internal. The monitor is connected directly to the internals. This is a well thought out product. I love it.

The Best Thing I Have Ever Bought

4 years ago my step-dad bought me the best Christmas present ever, an iPod touch. Then last summer he handed down a 2006 Mac Book Pro and I thought life couldn't get better. After buying this iMac, my pride and joy, I can't think of anything that could complete my life more. It is a lot of money, but you get what you pay for. It is definitely an investment that you should have for years. The thing about these iMacs is that they are the latest and greatest technology so in 5 years it is not going to be completely obsolete there will be better and faster available but this will still be sufficient for most people's daily needs. The picture is bright, crisp and the wide screen allows you to multi-task and the processor prevents the mac from slowing down. Once you go mac you never go back!

I've owned several PC's over the course of 14 years and this is by far the best computer on the planet.
It totally blows PC's out of the water. No more do I have to defragment,no more registry cleanup, worry about viruses, malware, spyware and all the head aches that come along with owning a PC.
If you are into photo's than you'll absolutely love iPhoto it keeps all your photos organized under events, faces and places so much better than PC.
I could stay here all day and tell you how great it is , but once you try an iMac you'll never look back and wonder why you wasted all your time with anything else.

This is my first Mac and I love it. The screen is beautiful. The wireless keyboard and mouse work fantastically well. The performance is outstanding and everything just works as it should.
The only software that ever crashes is MS Office, go figure, everything else works great and is very stable. I wish I had gone over to the Mac side a long time ago.
Since I purchased this Mac a couple of months ago I have had to reinstall my Windows Laptop twice. No such problems with the Mac. Everything still works as fast and reliably as the day I opened the box.
I would highly recommend a Mac to anyone and already did. If you want a good quality computer, that performs well, and will just work then look no further.

So this is officially my first mac and I must say I'm impressed.
I had used Apple computers before and I knew they were great but never owned one.
I regularly use Windows and Linux for home and work, the OS comes with a neat terminal (it's a Unix after all) so ssh, scp, tar, gzip, awk, sed, vi, netstat, you name it is all available also comes with an Xterminal and console which is a handy system log.
There are tons of useful shortcuts to make working with it very easy, I setup MS office 2011 and it works like a charm.
It comes already loaded with some really good applications, it will take me some time to get used to some of the main differences, like having the top menu change as you change application and not have it bound inside the actual window - that creates a bit of a visual disconnection when you have many open windows, but that's minor.
I setup wow (cata) on this to try it out and it also works great nice frame rate, loading adons is just as easy.
The screen is just amazing, so crisp.
There are no noisy fans, in terms of cooling it has a thin opening at the back/top that releases a gentle flow of air.
So far I like everything about it.
Might cost more than setting up your own PC from scratch and customize it but you definitely get what you pay for.

I used windows and other brand PC's for the past ~10 years and was very skeptical about buying a mac. They seem to receive so much critizism because of the higher price tag for the same specs, but let me tell you it's well worth the cash. They run so much more smoothly than windows. I had an 8 gb ram windows pc before this and my new mac blows that out of the water easily with 4 gb ram. You get what you pay for, it's an excellent computer and it's well worth the extra ~$300. Not to mention it'll probably last more than 2x longer than your windows pc will.

I finally made the switch from a PC to Mac. I was blown away with how fast, reliable, and stress free this computer is. Yes they are expensive but why spend the money on upgrading a PC computer with RAM, graphics, software or whatever else you want when most of these are included in the iMac!!! I will never go back to a PC and it works great with all my online media and hobby demands!!!

I've had this computer for 2 years and it has not slowed down at all. That's amazing considering I have TONS of apps, videos, music, and much more. Space-sucker apps like Photoshop are no match for this computer. It has absolutely NO problem running tons of apps without slowing down, and setup was fast and incredibly simple. This computer is FANTASTIC for schoolwork and searching for things quickly! This is the best possible computer you can get. Don't cringe at the price, it is far less than what it is worth! The speakers produce a beautiful surround sound, and the screen is crystal clear. Beautiful!! My only complaint is that it is a little bit tall, but

Great computer, switching to Mac was the best decision we made. Super fast, more bells & whistles than I know what to do with. iPhoto is great for pictures. We are very happy with our purchase. We got tired of all the viruses & other problems we experienced over the years with windows based pc's. I know Mac is more expensive but in the long run it is so worth it. I hope to have this computer a long time, its a worthy investment. My last computer we had for 5 years, had it stripped down twice because of viruses & every year we had a problem with it even with buying expensive virus protection.

This is my second iMac (first one was from 2006 and still works perfect) and this is the best computer I have ever used. Set-up is quick and easy and out of the box it runs extremely smooth. I love this computer and it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this computer to anyone looking for a new computer that's fast, easy to use and looks great as well. Apple delivers again.

I, like many others, have been a life long PC user. Since college it has been all PC, even as I entered my career in radio broadcasting. Over the years it was always the same thing. Buy a PC, I had them all from HP to Gateway, and wait for when the machine starts to break down. As the popularity of Apple rose I started to buy products from them. First an iPod Shuffle, than an iPod Classic and finally an iPhone. I knew that their products worked...well. But was hesitant to pull the trigger on a full blown computer. Then after my sister in law bought a MacBook and I watched as she lugged it around the world and it held up just fine as I went through not one but two PC's in the same amount of time, I made the decision after our last PC laptop once again died a slow death that we were going Mac! Not going to lie, the price was the biggest hurdle to get past. It took a good year, and bargaining my way down from a MacBook Pro to an iMac, to convince my wife to let me make this purchase. But now even she regrets waiting so long! The iMac 20 inch/500GB is an AMAZING deal for the amount of machine you get. I was lucky enough to get in on a Black Friday deal that even beat Apple's Black Friday sale (the ONLY day of the year they lower their prices too) at $1049.99. The machine arrived and like so many other reviewers said, within 5 minutes I was up, running and online. SIMPLE!!! The design is killer, the wireless keyboards and mouse is great. And the machine works...not well...but GREAT! Fast boot up, unbelievable speed and....NO CRASHING OR STUTTERING OR BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH! The display is so great I have even used it to stream some online NFL games. Yes, if your a PC user it will take some getting used to. Use the Apple website videos to learn the tricks of the trade. You may want to buy some apps to custom suit you, I bought Pages ($19.99) for word documents and such, because why after leaving the PC world would I want to buy Microsoft Word?!?! Once you get the hang of the Mac world I doubt you'll ever head back, Lord knows I wont. So as I sit at work and our busted HP PC's grind, stutter and crash I breathe a sigh of relief knowing my iMac is waiting for me at home!

I bought this for a family computer to replace an aging Windows PC. It is easy to setup. Each family member has an account of their own. I setup parental controls and time limits for each of the kids. It is incredibly stylish which is important because it sits out on the main floor where it is visible to all. It is well designed and has excellent performance. Everything I could want from a family computer! Well worth the price. Don't settle for less.

I was on the fence for a LONG time to switch to an iMac, at first scared off by the higher price tag and lesser software options than Windows PC. But after one issue after the other with my last Windows machine I took the plunge and opened an account with Best Buy to get an iMac desktop. From the moment I brought it home and set it up I was FLOORED how great this machine ran! Even at entry level there is power in under the hood and since I've had it over a year there as been MUCH fewer issues than with any previous computer I have owned. The only hitch is that as you start using more programs and running more tasks you will find yourself needing to upgrade the RAM to at least 8GB, especially if you plan on running Parallels or VM Fusionware, but if you want a Mac, GET A MAC NOW!!!! LOL

I'm a first time Apple user and honestly I don't know why I ever used Microsoft products before this. This computer has been so easy to use from set up to your everyday work. I can't get over how user friendly it is! I also want to mention that the Apple support has been excellent for example, every Thursday Best Buy has free classes to attend to learn how to use the Apple computers and I also had to call their Tech support once and they were amazing over the phone from start to finish. They didn't end until we were completely happy. The graphics are brilliant and the programs like iPhoto and idvd are so much fun to use. I haven't found anything yet that I don't like.

I Should Have Got an iMac Years Ago

Setting up a computer doesn't get any easier--plug in, turn it on and follow the prompts. Things just get better from there.
I've been using personal computers for over 20 years and I'd always been partial to the PC. Since purchasing the iMac I've GIVEN away two fairly new desktops and totally abandoned a top of the line Sony Vaio laptop with several thousands of dollars worth of software installed. Why? Because the iMac was faster, more powerful and a lot sexier.
I use my computer primarily for multimedia work (audio, video and photo editing) so performance is everything to me. At any given time I've got 4 or 5 resource intensive apps open and I've yet to notice any degradation in performance. In fact, I find that even when multitasking, my programs run a lot faster on the iMac.
After putting it through the paces for several weeks for up to 18 hours a day, I haven't had a single crash or reason to complain.
The bottom line is this thing does everything I need it to do faster than any of my comparably priced PCs. Once you've gotten used to the Mac's operating system (which is more intuitive than Windows in my opinion), you'll never want to use a PC again.

I bought this imac to replace my old Dell laptop and let me just say that if I would have known what I was missing I would have bought one years ago! This is the best computer ever! It is sleek, easy to use, fast, very smart, great apps , what more could you ask for in a computer. It was a breeze to set up all of my stuff on it! I don't know a whole lot about computers, but apple sure knows what they are doing!! I did lots of research on where to buy my iMac and I finally decided Best buy was the way to go. I purchased the 4 year warranty (1 yr longer than apple store offers) and I know that if I have any issues Best buy will take care of me. Overall even if it is more money to go with apple brand, it is sooooo worth it!!!

Our previous computer was one of the first white macbooks that came out about 6 years ago. So with all that we had put onto that computer it was finally starting to slow down.
The iMac is fast, easy to set up, has an awesome screen. Its great that it comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
This one came with OS X Lion which took some getting use to scrolling differently, but even that has been great to use.

My mother board died on my Windows machine. My APPLE friends, with religious fervor encouraged me to buy a MAC. I did and love it. The learning process is a challenge but not that bad. The telephone help is terrific but does not last for the whole year so find problems quickly. I was not told by Best Buy that I was entitled to LION X upgrade for free but had to download it within 30 days. I just made it. Come on guys. You gotta know this stuff.
It is fast, and has great features built in like I-PHOTO. Office is not on it so I downloaded NEO OFFICE which is pretty good and free.
I like the all in one. It makes my desk and work area much less cluttered. Connectors and cables are all out of sight. Neat. I Love the mouse and keyboard. Just enough and the mouse responds to my every wish and command.
A few things I still like better on Windows though. Like burning a disk without uploading everything to ITUNES first. So that is the reason for the "Good" grade on features. And as for value, it has good stuff inside but the price is high for what you get, so it only gets a "good" rating. Anyway, go for it. I recommend it.

So far, my new iMac suits my needs for being faster and easier. I enjoy the large screen and am learning the commands for apple. With help from a local tech, I loaded parallels and can have most of my Windows features as well.
Because I enjoy writing, a Mac is so much easier to use. It will still take time to learn all that I need to know. I've only had this computer a month, but it has filled my wish and dream for something much better.
