Customers are saying

Customers praise the 27" iMac's large screen size and ease of use, frequently citing its excellent performance and sleek design as additional strengths. While some find the price high, the lack of a built-in DVD drive is another common point of feedback. Many appreciate the readily available RAM upgrades.

So far after doing 1 video editing it been working flawlessly! It's amazing and better than expected. Honestly, the 5k display and this display aren't too different. I'm happy with my purchase.

i finally transitioned from a PC to an iMac. It's exactly what I expected from Apple. I recently watched Avatar, the Extensed version and the picture was amazing. I have much to learn about my iMac, I'm glad I finally got it. Sincerely; Joey

My wife and I went up to Best Buy with the intent on buying his and hers PCs. She saw the Mac and had no choice. It was love at first sight! FAST processing, amazingly easy set-up! Opened the box, plugged it in and it immediately found our wifi and she was off and running! The graphics are beautiful and streaming videos is a breeze without any lag time. The sound quality is okay, not of high end quality but for her needs, it is perfect! Also, back in the 90's when she owned a Mac, most software was not compatible with a Mac. Now, just about all her programs that she uses works with this machine! Little pricey at 1,749.00 but then again, you get what you pay for!

Apple does it again. This machine is so powerful, I almost feel guilty for not using it to its full capabilities. The design is excellent and the screen quality superb. Why would anyone want to purchase any other computer?

Originally I was going to buy the 21.5" iMac because of the cost but then realized I would not be able to upgrade the RAM without servicing ($$) since it requires removing the glass and literally all the internals to just to get access to the logic board. The huge display is amazing and just as good as the Retina iMac. The user accessible memory compartment will let me bump the memory to 32GB, which with the 3.2GHz processor will keep this computer running great for years to come even as Apple upgrades the OS and newer Mac models come out. I was told in store that the my Mac comes preinstalled with Yosemite, but in fact it came with Mavericks. This turned out good though since Yosemite reviews are not so great. Overall happy with the upgrade. Worth the extra $$.

This computer is the simply the easiest product to set up. Coming from Windows, the navigation and file operations take a little getting used to but it all really makes sense in the end. Great to compliment or complete the entire Apple ecosystem. You can receive texts and FaceTime on your desktop and finish on your iPhone or iPad. I was surprised at how fast this computer can execute commands. Very fast iTunes and other app speeds when compared to 3 year old Windows machine on the same internet connection. Just one note to buyers--the 27 inch screen is huge! If you are not sure go to BB and check out first. Highly recommended!

Coming from a PC, I can say it's beem an entirely new experience. A very good one at that. The beautiful screen resolution makes the resolution of our pictures pop, sucking us into their beauty. The processing power right out of the box is more than plenty to endure even the most strenuous editing of pictures to videos. However, with that said, adding an additional bus of RAM (helps with processing speed, allowing programs to run much more smoothly) up to the max of 32gB will enhance your overall experience. That's not all this computer is great for though! Do you have kids? Maybe grandchildren? If so, then I'll ask you why would you expose the to a PC (unless their big gamers whom like to customize and upgrade often)? The parental controls are amazing on the MAC. They're so intuitive: -time monitoring (when can the get on, until what time at night, or maybe even a set amount of hours and minutes). -application filtering (you have an app you don't feel comfortable with your child using? No problem, just disable it for their user!) -website filtering; pornography, manipulative, and discouraging...no matter your dislikes , you can filter them all! Overall, it's a fantastic computer that will last for years, the construction, software, and even hardware blend together creating one hell of an experience. Fantastic switch from PC to MAC.

This iMac has been great... It's easy to use, boots up quickly, has great software, syncs flawlessly with my other Apple devices... I only wish I had purchased a Mac earlier, rather than using more cumbersome Windows PC's in the past. The MAC OS and functionality takes some getting accustomed to if you've never used one, but within a few days of using it, it's hard to imagine using anything else. The Hard Drive is more than sufficient for all of my songs, movies and documents... With plenty left-over storage space. The 8Gb of RAM is great, the screen is awesome... I have nothing bad to say about this device!! I love how quickly it starts up and syncs perfectly with our other Apple devices... I have no regrets with buying this iMac!!

If you are thinking about switching to a Mac this is the way to go. Beautiful screen, lots of RAM and a nice fat HD. There are a few caveats though. It doesn't come with a DVD drive, if you want one you should pick up the Superdrive. The keyboard that comes with it is not a full size one with a number pad, if you want it you will have to buy a separate one.

I was comparing this computer to the i7 ones and saw a massive price jump. I live in NH and the nearest Apple Store was over 40 minutes away so when I saw this on sale at Best Buy I needed to jump on it. I had the RAM upgraded to 32GB and this thing blazes through anything I throw at it. I'm a designer and web developer and have yet to see the agonizing rainbow wheel.

I've used iMacs since 2011, and while they're not all they're cracked up to be, I do like them. I switched because I liked the idea of not having to worry as much about viruses. Sure, there was a bit of a learning curve, as well as compatibility issues, but overall not too bad, except for MS Office for Mac 2011. If you use Outlook, there are functionalities that you had with Windows that are not in the Mac software (no back button, can't copy emails, have to type in folder name you want to move an email to instead of just choosing it, etc.) According to a MS representative, Apple limits them as to what they can put in their software for Macs because Apple wants you to use THEIR office software. Geez. My first Mac (21.5 inch in 2011) came with Snow Leopard. When Mavericks was offered for free, I upgraded, thinking things could only get better, right? Wrong. Outlook had issues. So when Yosemite came out, I upgraded to it hoping to “heal” Outlook, but Outlook developed even more issues and crashed when I was trying to fix it. I asked a local mac technician if I could downgrade my OS back to Snow Leopard and he said no. So that is what led me to having to buy a new computer- this 27 inch iMac. I will NEVER upgrade operating systems ever again on a computer or phone. Just use what the computer came with and what it’s hardware and software was designed for. Not too happy with the Mac keyboard, either. I'm used to 10-keying and the provided keyboard does not have one. So I bought the LMP 10-key that attaches to the Mac keyboard via a slot or groove that fits between the two. While mostly reliable, I have had lots of times where the 10-key disconnects from Bluetooth randomly. So it would be very helpful if the bluetooth keyboard that is provided with iMacs would have the 10 key keypad on there already so you don’t have to buy one more thing and mess with connecting yet another bluetooth device. The other gripe I have about the keyboard is you have to cramp your fingers up to do the Mac version of CTRL + C (or X, or whatever, depending on what shortcut you need), which is Command + C, etc. Also, unless you have a 10 key attached, you don't have a way to delete characters to the right of your cursor, only to the left. Another inconvenience. And make the keyboard solar! I'm waiting on a Logitech solar keyboard to come in. Ditching the Apple one on my most-used computer. Tired of all the batteries- between the Mac mouse, 10-key and the keyboard, seems I'm always changing batteries. So the Logitech keyboard has no batteries to change and has 10 key already! I do like the 21.5 and 27 inch screens. I don't think the 27 makes that much of a difference, though, and kinda wish I would have just bought another 21.5 inch. I have several programs, windows and applications open at the same time, so I thought the 27 would really help. It helps to help a little in some cases, but probably not enough to justify the price diff between the 21.5 and 27. The top of the 27 inch screen is higher than the 21.5, also, so I find myself straining my neck back a bit to use the whole screen. I'm getting used to it after a month + now, but still, for someone with neck and back problems, it can be a pain. Pun intended. ;) I can't raise my office chair up any further, either. I do like the all-in-one feature of the computer. I don't have room for a tower, so having just a screen to deal with fits my needs. The computer looks nice on my desk, too, and adds a touch of modernity to my office. Time Machine has been unreliable on my 21.5 inch. We’ll see what happens with the 27. Welllll,,,, hopefully I won’t have to find out! And, I do NOT like the fact that the new Macs DON'T HAVE A DISK DRIVE!! I didn't know this until I brought the 27 inch home and went to put a disk in it and was like, "Where is the disk drive?!?!" Fortunately, I still have my 2011 21.5 inch Mac. There are still times we need to use disks, Apple!!! Another issue I have with Macs is there is no refresh button in Finder. In my work, that would come in very handy.

Made this purchase primarily to edit video/photos. I'm running both FCPX and Adobe's CC and its super-fast. I love the large screen and wireless keyboard/mouse. I've been a PC guy for a long time and I can't say that I'll be switching back anytime soon. An iMac is a bit pricey but once you're set up you're solid, I haven't had a single issue with mine. If you need a cheaper option and already have peripherals try a Mac Mini, they have one available with the same specs.

All the wonders of an iMac with a giant screen

This iMac is just as great as my old iMac, but comes with a much bigger and better display screen. It has plenty of space to have multiple windows open without having them overlap and partially cover each other. For people who have a little trouble reading small print, this screen is the answer. And when it comes to working on your digital pictures, you can view a large group of images at the same time, making everything easier. I also love that is is wireless for both talking to the Internet and the printer. One thing I do miss from my older iMac is that it does not have a built in DVD/CD disk drive.

This is my 3rd iMac and each time I upgrade I worry that there won't be enough difference, and each time I am not disappointed. This iMac is lightning fast, including load and shut down times. The screen is brilliant and the colors are very realistic. The unit is lighter than previous versions and there is much less glare on the screen that previous versions due to the new coating. The processor handles everything I throw at it without hesitation, including rendering HD movies, photo editing, along with the basic stuff too. There are a couple things I recommend to make the computer even better. First is a numeric keypad or after-market full size BT keyboard. The Apple wireless keyboard is nice, but the fact that it is missing the numeric keypad is unacceptable and Apple does not sell their own BT version. The second thing is more RAM. Buy as much extra RAM as you can afford. It's cheap and easy to install.

Incredible graphics, the 27inch screen is amazing!! way over the top for a desktop computer!! Makes it fun to get work done every day, also extremely fast compared to my old (very expensive) computer. I was not an Apple believer but now I am! It only took a few days to learn the new language( new to me after being a Microsoft guy for 20 years)
