Customers are saying

Customers praise the 27" iMac's large screen size and ease of use, frequently citing its excellent performance and sleek design as additional strengths. While some find the price high, the lack of a built-in DVD drive is another common point of feedback. Many appreciate the readily available RAM upgrades.

This is basically the best, most sleek way to get a mac. I have had numerous macbook pros and mini's, but this runs smoother and with less heat. I did have to change my speakers because this took up so much desk real estate. That said it was worth it, I have a monster monitor, and the ability to change the RAM (you can't in the 21.5 version). The monitor is very bright and the colors look good. The only downside is the built in speakers, which I am not using; and the high cost. It is also very heavy, but in a quality way. It looks very nice on just about any desk but I went out and ordered an wall mounted desk from best buy by Prepac. Also a very solid unit, and the 27 inch takes up the entire main opening, making it look like it was custom made for it.

My first experience with any Apple device. There has been a bit of a learning curve, but not to bad. Fires up so much faster, the great graphics you hear about, and no constant restarting. I can still use Work and other Window's programs on it. So far a major improvement, and no desire to want to throw it through the nearest window. ;) The mouse is great, the keyboard is way too small for my big hands. I will get a Logitech board later.

i finally transitioned from a PC to an iMac. It's exactly what I expected from Apple. I recently watched Avatar, the Extensed version and the picture was amazing. I have much to learn about my iMac, I'm glad I finally got it. Sincerely; Joey

I purchased this iMac just prior to the new computers coming out by Apple. I'm happy with the quality, speed and picture size. The new iMac was out of my price range so I got the most for my money. If price is a concideration but you want the most for your money, this is the way to go. Best Buy shipped the product immediately and I was up and running quickly.

My wife and I went up to Best Buy with the intent on buying his and hers PCs. She saw the Mac and had no choice. It was love at first sight! FAST processing, amazingly easy set-up! Opened the box, plugged it in and it immediately found our wifi and she was off and running! The graphics are beautiful and streaming videos is a breeze without any lag time. The sound quality is okay, not of high end quality but for her needs, it is perfect! Also, back in the 90's when she owned a Mac, most software was not compatible with a Mac. Now, just about all her programs that she uses works with this machine! Little pricey at 1,749.00 but then again, you get what you pay for!

Apple does it again. This machine is so powerful, I almost feel guilty for not using it to its full capabilities. The design is excellent and the screen quality superb. Why would anyone want to purchase any other computer?

Originally I was going to buy the 21.5" iMac because of the cost but then realized I would not be able to upgrade the RAM without servicing ($$) since it requires removing the glass and literally all the internals to just to get access to the logic board. The huge display is amazing and just as good as the Retina iMac. The user accessible memory compartment will let me bump the memory to 32GB, which with the 3.2GHz processor will keep this computer running great for years to come even as Apple upgrades the OS and newer Mac models come out. I was told in store that the my Mac comes preinstalled with Yosemite, but in fact it came with Mavericks. This turned out good though since Yosemite reviews are not so great. Overall happy with the upgrade. Worth the extra $$.

This computer is the simply the easiest product to set up. Coming from Windows, the navigation and file operations take a little getting used to but it all really makes sense in the end. Great to compliment or complete the entire Apple ecosystem. You can receive texts and FaceTime on your desktop and finish on your iPhone or iPad. I was surprised at how fast this computer can execute commands. Very fast iTunes and other app speeds when compared to 3 year old Windows machine on the same internet connection. Just one note to buyers--the 27 inch screen is huge! If you are not sure go to BB and check out first. Highly recommended!

Coming from a PC, I can say it's beem an entirely new experience. A very good one at that. The beautiful screen resolution makes the resolution of our pictures pop, sucking us into their beauty. The processing power right out of the box is more than plenty to endure even the most strenuous editing of pictures to videos. However, with that said, adding an additional bus of RAM (helps with processing speed, allowing programs to run much more smoothly) up to the max of 32gB will enhance your overall experience. That's not all this computer is great for though! Do you have kids? Maybe grandchildren? If so, then I'll ask you why would you expose the to a PC (unless their big gamers whom like to customize and upgrade often)? The parental controls are amazing on the MAC. They're so intuitive: -time monitoring (when can the get on, until what time at night, or maybe even a set amount of hours and minutes). -application filtering (you have an app you don't feel comfortable with your child using? No problem, just disable it for their user!) -website filtering; pornography, manipulative, and discouraging...no matter your dislikes , you can filter them all! Overall, it's a fantastic computer that will last for years, the construction, software, and even hardware blend together creating one hell of an experience. Fantastic switch from PC to MAC.

This iMac has been great... It's easy to use, boots up quickly, has great software, syncs flawlessly with my other Apple devices... I only wish I had purchased a Mac earlier, rather than using more cumbersome Windows PC's in the past. The MAC OS and functionality takes some getting accustomed to if you've never used one, but within a few days of using it, it's hard to imagine using anything else. The Hard Drive is more than sufficient for all of my songs, movies and documents... With plenty left-over storage space. The 8Gb of RAM is great, the screen is awesome... I have nothing bad to say about this device!! I love how quickly it starts up and syncs perfectly with our other Apple devices... I have no regrets with buying this iMac!!

If you are thinking about switching to a Mac this is the way to go. Beautiful screen, lots of RAM and a nice fat HD. There are a few caveats though. It doesn't come with a DVD drive, if you want one you should pick up the Superdrive. The keyboard that comes with it is not a full size one with a number pad, if you want it you will have to buy a separate one.

I was comparing this computer to the i7 ones and saw a massive price jump. I live in NH and the nearest Apple Store was over 40 minutes away so when I saw this on sale at Best Buy I needed to jump on it. I had the RAM upgraded to 32GB and this thing blazes through anything I throw at it. I'm a designer and web developer and have yet to see the agonizing rainbow wheel.

    Macs have definitely changed

Having used Macs in past, I was apprehensive about going back to one after so many years. Not only was there the unit cost, but also the re-investment in s/w. Thought about the mirroring systems, but all in all, the cost of s/w wasn't so bad. The biggest complaint I have is the dissimilarity between same software for different systems. Completely baffles me that developers would think that different users want different features, application, etc. Part of it is the o/s, which I understand, but within the application the functionality should be greater. The 27" (which I bought) screen is BIG, because the 21.5 felt small after a regular 23" (used at work). With a 23" seeming so ubiquitous, Apple may be somewhat behind the curve on their small, standard screen size. One disappointment: Norton Identity Safe does not work in a Mac environment. The same Norton software out of the box loads fine onto the Mac, but the 'safe' is one feature that Norton acknowledges is not functional in iOS. Above notwithstanding, most of my concerns are learning curve - both how to use the software, and learning where 'things' are located. The system is beautiful and easier to read (due to clarity and resolution, not screen size), which was a key issue for me.

    Consider iMac from Apple

We switched from PC to Mac about 5 years ago, with an older 2011 iMac 21.5". Having used the Mac for 5 years at home and also having company provided PC's we thought the learning curve would take considerable time to jump from one to the other; we were wrong. Apple makes it easy to learn their OS, and the support is great. The 27" HD display, super thin design AIO is exactly what we need in our house. The iMac has always been "The" go to device for our family. We use this system mainly for media consumption, a little work, and for photo editing. It boots quick, is very quiet when running, has an outstanding screen and is very fast. We updated the RAM from 8GB to 16GB for better performance. Make the switch, if only for a little while. If you're a BestBuy Elite or Elite Plus members you have 30 & 45 days respectively, to try it out. If you don't like it return it.

What can I say about this computer. Well first off it has a super high resolution which makes everything super clear to watch. Love the all in one design. No more separate things to move around like monitor, CPU, etc. All you need to do is unplug and move it, it's that simple. Blazing fast and really easy to use.

We have been PC people for years and after years of frustration, we decided to give this computer a try. It's AMAZING!! Everything is built right inside of it, so there's not a zillion cords running fro here to there. You start up the computer and nothing is running except the apps you want to run. There aren't 100 programs installed that you know you're going to have to uninstall because they're just using up space and useless. Everything on the mac is so easy to operate and everything on it is stuff you will use. The memory in it was sufficient for a regular user, however in our media business, we decided to upgrade the memory and it's so unbelievably simple to do compared to a PC. I will never go back to PC again!

Was debating between an iMac or a Windows 8 machine. The crispness of the display and the ease of use of the Mac interface sold me. Have a Windoes 8 laptop and not enamored. Went ahead with the iMac and love it. Display is crisp. Machine is quick Great buy

Made this purchase primarily to edit video/photos. I'm running both FCPX and Adobe's CC and its super-fast. I love the large screen and wireless keyboard/mouse. I've been a PC guy for a long time and I can't say that I'll be switching back anytime soon. An iMac is a bit pricey but once you're set up you're solid, I haven't had a single issue with mine. If you need a cheaper option and already have peripherals try a Mac Mini, they have one available with the same specs.
