As it stands, the screen is the most impressive part of this machine. The 5K resolution is amazing, and the color depth and quality is worth the cost. I had to decide if I wanted to forgo the I7 chip because I'm a developer by trade. But the I5 packs a solid punch and has tolerated everything I've needed to push at it. I did upgrade the memory to 32 GB, but that was cheap considering if I let Apple supply it.

Our sole purpose for purchasing this computer was to take advantage of the robust capabilities of managing pictures and videos. We are in the process of archiving thousands of pictures/videos in this very easy to use computer. There is no hiding the fact of the high price but, the value of our memories makes this purchase very worthwhile.

I would love to give the iMac five stars, but it has been so long since Apple updated the unit that I cannot bring myself to do it. I purchased this particular unit because I needed something to fill the gap until new units are announced, hopefully sometime in 2017. I love the 27" 5K retina display, and the fusion drive is snappy. I really wish Best Buy would have had an i7 unit in stock, but they did not. I also would have preferred the 3TB fusion drive option given as how it is next to impossible to update the iMac components as an end user. With that being said, I also saved a little bit of money by not pursuing the extra options. (I did install some third party memory to increase the paltry 8 GB to 32 GB.) This is still a great computer, especially if you like MacOS, but I would have trouble recommending it to anyone as it should only be a matter of time before Apple updates this old iteration of the iMac. As soon as the updated iMacs are available in 2017, I am guessing this current unit that I purchased will either find itself on eBay or maybe it will be inherited by my kids... (I really wanted a Mac Pro, but those have not been updated in years. The last thing I want is to spend that much money on a computer for a replacement to come out only a few months later.) Unfortunately, Apple seems much more focused on their iOS devices, Apple Watch, and AppleTV at the expense of their Mac consumer base. Once there is finally an update to the iMac, I will probably jump back in with both feet. Until then, I would hold off unless it is not possible for you to wait it out.

I bought this iMac to replace my 2011 iMac. This computer is blazing fast especially with the fusion drive. I love the screen quality with the 5K display and I use it to make 4K videos. Worth the price easily.

Very light, slim, fast computer with awesome screen, camera and amazing sound. Very easy to set up and use (super user-friendly). Comes with nice wireless mouse and a delicate wireless keyboard. A+

I really like the RAM speed. I went from an old iMac 2009 to this one. You can imagine the improvements. I wasn't sure I wanted the larger 27" screen and thought it would consume my entire desk but, the sleek design fits nicely on a smaller desk. I still don't like Apple keyboards and I liken them to typing on an iPad. Which isn't great for longer projects. Storage is great. Hate that a Bluray DVR-W isn't standard.

My wife and I have been using Windows based computers at work and at home "Forever" of course we have had many smart phones over the years but Apples IPhones were so easy to operate we decided to get an Apple iMac. WOW it loads up so fast and it flows trough internet pages. Anyways, we wish that this decision was mad a long time ago. The only thing that is was missing and we bought it later was a keyboard with the ten keys. The price was great even though it wasn't the newest model. It gets used every day at lightning speed...

Got this for my wife for Christmas. It's huge and awesome. She's always doing picture albums, calendars and cards of our kids and now she's in Photoshop heaven. She's happy so I'm happy.

Finally replaced my pc with a Mac, after much nagging from our son. It is great. Easy to use, the screen is large, and it's a terrific display. The only thing that doesn't make sense is the way the Magic Mouse charges, on the bottom of the mouse, which means you can't use it while it charges.

i bought my old mac 5 years ago and felt it was time for an upgrade this computer blows my other mac away in every way possible and I'm passing the other computer down to one of my kids

Very Fast iMac besides 5k looking stunning its super fast! Books up in seconds!!! I got the 2TB Fushion drive and would recommend it to anyone, definetly worth the money!!

This is a terrific Mac for all uses, especially for photo editing. Is super fast and a real treat to use!

After researching computers for the last year, I finally decided in the IMac 27" with the 2 TB fusion drive. I needed something for editing HD videos and a replacement for an old PC. I've had it about a month now and I'm very happy with how easy the Mac is to get used to. I've been using the IMovie program for my editing and it has been sufficient for my needs. I would recommend buying the magic track pad, since the screen is so large, it's much easier than using the Magic Mouse provided. I also added the $79 external DVD/CD drive which sits out of the way on the iMac stand, appearing like its part of the machine.

My buying experience was fantastic at Best Buy. The salesman was attentive to my questions. My only concern has been the need to have the computer in for service. The fan would kick on and turn the screen black after just a few minutes playing games like World of Warcraft or watching youtube videos. I'll know soon what the problem is and hopefully will see it fixed.

This is an amazing machine! I have been a PC guy all my life. Needless to say I was hesitant to make the switch. So far I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Still learning Mac OS but even with limited experience, I know I will never go back.

You won't miss the old desktop one bit. The last desktop Mac I had was a G5. I went directly to MacBook Pro from that and have had once since January of this year. It finally died and I opted for another desktop Mac. In the past the iMac was sub par to the G5 desktop Mac and I passed right over it. But this computer has come a long way and I love it! It's operates on the same level as my old desktop (for that time). I partnered it with an iPad companion instead of another laptop. Which is much easier to tote around and I'm very happy with this set up. Plus the screen is beautiful!

Fast, screen is awesome, very compact. The cost is high, compared to most Windows' Desktops, but the performance and security are well worth it. Very satisfied.
