works well - by buying the cable separate from the charger, if one item stops working you only have to replace that item - the cost is the same as purchasing a one-piece charger

This is a replacement charger, my 3rd one. The end that plugs into the iPad or the iphone could use a redesign. It seems no matter how carefully you grab that small end and pull it out, it inevitably starts to separate or loosen from the cord with its wires loosening or worse the metal plug falls off. When it charges it very effectively does the job, it’s just not made to last very long, but then again maybe that’s the point...though the Apple brand does seem to wear better than non-Apple.

Was in need of a new cable and new that I would be able to get one at the store.
