It lasted less than two years and then the edge of the charger broke. Inshort, it’s tummy came out. Now it’s upto you to decide. They should make the charger little stronger. I’m curious to know how long the other comparable Cheaper brands last.

This cable works well -- and it hasn't (yet) caused the issues associated with generic Lightning cables that I've experienced in the past. One of my pals is a senior power-supply engineer at Apple. He doesn't work on iPhones or iPads -- but he says that those who do claim that the problem with many generic cables is that, over time, lesser precision in their electrode contacts on the Lightning end can mess-up the connectors inside an iPhone. He says those engineers maintain that mis-alignment is the typical source of failure in the Lightning system, as occurred in my prior two iPhones after a year or two of using generic cables. Thus spending a few extra bucks for an official, Apple-approved lightning connector is worth the investment, particularly when they are on-sale at Best Buy for ten bucks.

The charging cable I had previously been using frequently alerted me that it might be incompatible with my device, and I was also having difficulty transferring photos from my phone onto my PC. Always buy genuine Apple accessories! The few dollars more are well worth it many times over. I got tired of repeatedly purchasing the “non-Apple” brand charging cords...it seemed like every time I turned around I needed another one! So, I decided I was going to purchase genuine Apple brand (this one) and compare them. Well upon opening the box there was an immediate difference; one I had forgotten about or Apple made improvements...the quality is superior to the off-brand. The actual cord seems “thicker”...it’s more firm & sturdy, as compared to “flimsy” and easily bendable. It charges significantly faster, too!

I rated this item a 4 because I already know the life expectancy for this charger. I use this item frequently. So, owners of Apple products more than likely have way too many chargers. Yet, I continue to buy the Apple charger instead of off-brands because my Apple device charges quickly and is less likely to have any frequency issues. Yes, I know because I tried off-brands charging cables and they don't measure up to the quality of Apple accessories. The newer Apple chargers are much better than this charger so I often use an adaptor when using the newer Apple devices.

Bought this cable to charge my 5 year old Ipad Pro. Prior to getting this, I bought a knock-off for half the price thinking it would be the same but it took almost 5 hours to get a full ch a rge and the battery dies too quick so I opted to try the original cable amd that made all the difference! Definitepy recommend getting the original cables for your Apple devices! My iPad is good as new again and no more frustrating extended hours of charging!

Apple cables can be expensive to I've bought my share of 3rd party cables and have had all kinds of problems with them: the tip came off one, other's frayed quickly, and others just charged really slowly, so when this Apple branded cable went on sale I jumped on it and it has not disappointed. It's sturdy and it works great and it will probably last 2-3 times as long and those cheap 3rd party cables.

i bought a knock off lightning cable and used it for two weeks then it stopped charging. i tried to reach out to a 3rd party sellers but was ignored... never again. This genuine apple lightning cable works awesome... been using for a while, never encounter any problem plus i have product warranty! Lesson learned never buy crappy stuff to save!!!

Since I seemed to be going through iPhone cords & boxes so often (especially since my daughter & her friends were always borrowing) I started buying brands other than Apple because they were cheaper, often half the cost. Most were just as good when it comes to longevity & durability but after using awhile my phone would start having issues like freezing, powering off by itself, & not recognizing touch. Then I would start getting alerts warning me that the “accessory may not be supported”. Well I found myself buying twice as many so I learned my lesson & went back to using Apple only accessories with my iPhone. And all phone problems solved!
