I originally purchased the larger iPad Air and returned that for this mini. I love the size, it's so much easier to hold and fits in a small bag or purse. I replaced a Samsung Tablet 4 with this, and there is a huge difference with speed, battery life, picture quality and more. I have switch my phone also from and Android to an iPhone, but I do miss some of the features androids have that Apple doesn't. You can't go back to a previous page as easily and you don't have the capability to add more storage for two examples. It would be great if they would someday combine all the features into one great tablet! I wanted the Gold color but it was out-of-stock so I got the Space Grey. They grey really is a pretty color. I've attached a picture, that I took with the Android, but it is a bit darker than it appears. One nice thing about purchasing this at Best Buy is that they price matched it from a different store that was $50. cheaper but they were out-of-stock at that store.

This is my third mini and it’s the best yet. So much faster than my mini 4 with lots more storage. My only complaint is that Apple doesn’t make a case to protect the back but mini 4 case works fine. Although the camera is partially covered in mini 4 case, photos come out fine.

The iPad mini is a great tablet but the battery power. This is not the case with the new iPad mini. This iPad is powerful, fast, and supports the Apple Pencil. This is my third iPad mini my second iPad is ten years old it still work but the battery is bad have to keep it plugged in all the time it’s my grand baby’s now. My new one is the battery power is great it last 10 hours. If you have been waiting to upgrade your iPad mini, this is the upgrade you've been waiting for.

The new iPad mini is amazing, I upgraded from a mini 2 and the speed difference is night and day. Screen is nice but blacks are not as dark as XSMax, understandable since it is not OLED. Pair with back cover and Smart Keyboard so you can detach front cover for gaming.

Awesome iPad with great memory and ease of use! I love the perfect size to hold, not to big!! I also love the pretty pink color!

Was in the market for an iPad and I wanted something compact for my everyday needs and I ended up going with this and I love it. So perfect not too small not too big great for casual use. Surfing the web and watching videos are such a pleasant experience on this device. Only downside is there’s only speakers on the bottom of the ipad which is kind of a bummer but not a deal breaker. Overall I would recommend this. Smooth experience works perfect with Apple Pencil first gen as well.

I really love my new iPad mini 5! I love all apple products really, but this one is my second fave. My iPhone is first! I have added a smart folio ckeyboard case and paper like screen cover and now my iPad mini 5 is like my baby laptop and I take it EVERYWHERE ! The sound quality is way better than my last one thi mini 4 and the picture clarity is great too. I’m happy I got it! My only issue with apple is the pricing.... they could be more budget friendly but otherwise I am happy! Love my iPad Mini 5

Nice Ipad on the go. Perfect size and capability that works fine for me. I would like to recommend the UAG Metropolis Series case to go with it and also an Apple pencil.

While this review is a little late, with the release of the new iPad Mini, this is still a great little device. Easy enough to hold in one hand, and powerful enough for just about any task. If you are big on streaming, then the smaller drive options may suit you better. I like storing my files on my device, so I went with more storage. Extremely reliable, great screen, and great battery life. While the new iPad Mini and its new form factor and internals is quite an improvement, this is still a great device for anyone looking for a smaller tablet.

I have a 2018 iPad Pro 11-inch and Apple Pencil 2nd Gen that I love to use for productivity, but wished for a smaller tablet for when I travel. While on a train ride to San Francisco for a leisure day trip, I got a headache while watching videos on the iPhone X's smaller screen. After hearing that the latest iPad Mini got a significant boost in specs, a brighter/wider color display with Tru Tone, and Apple Pencil 1st Gen support, I decided to purchase the Mini 5 (my first ever Mini). I realize that the forehead and chin bezels harken back to the 2012 design, but I didn't mind it too much. After all, I was using an iPad Air 2 prior to upgrading to the iPad Pro and those had huge top and bottom bezels. Apps open quickly, and I enjoy watching videos on the bright screen as colors really pop. With the laminated display, there is less reflection and the apps are so close to the glass that it seems like I am touching them. With iPad OS, I have the ability to use this in a pinch for productivity. Mainly, I use it for web browsing, Youtube, and Netflix and the size makes it a perfect travel companion. It's so easy to just grab and go. The camera takes decent pictures, but I mainly use my phone camera for that. I found the 7 megapixel front camera much improved for FaceTime. The 2 bottom stereo speakers are fairly loud. Along with Bluetooth 5.0 update, I am glad that an audio jack is still present as I have an older Bose wired headphones I love to use when listening to music or streaming movies. In addition, TouchID has been improved and unlocks the Mini in a flash. With the A12 bionic chip, it will continue receive software updates for years to come. I highly recommend the iPad Mini 5 for those who have older Minis and looking to upgrade. I hope that Apple continues to produce the Mini as there are many of us who really love its form factor and portability. I love it so much that I purchased a 64 GB Gold one for my mother, and she loves using it to watch Youtube. I can't wait to see what Apple has in store for a future design!

Size is perfect for holding in one hand, taking it with you on a trip, reading a book, watching a movie, or even drawing (need Apple Pencil). Processor is fast, screen is beautiful, and it is a pleasure to use. Got the 256GB (highest capacity) model as I want to make sure I have all the apps on it while on the road. Also got 1 year Apple TV+ for FREE.

For the size and price, this is 100% worth it. I've had this for about a year and a half and STILL when streaming, Facetiming, and using Zoom/Google Classroom, it DOESNT KILL THE BATTERY! This is my favorite part about it. For anyone needing something bigger than an iPhone for reading or school work, this is a good option. If you want to get this INSTEAD of a computer, this might not be it. Maybe splurge on the iPad Air or Pro, or at least get the mini with cell connection. This does connect to a bluetooth keyboard, and you can use the First Gen pen on it. This product still uses Touch ID rather than Face ID which has proven very useful with the pandemic, if you use it out in public. I downloaded and use the whole google suite effortlessly. With school being fully remote for most of last semester, I set this up and connected to google classroom and took notes. All of the ebooks I use are easily accessible on the iPad, I personally prefer Chegg e reader and Kindle e reader, both which run well on this. I am an apple person, so I loved that it was compatible with the cloud storage and made accessing all of my things from iPhone to iPad to computer a breeze.

iPad Mini is an underdog of the iPad family, but it robust has a great screen and is extremely portable. I'm using it in my media room to help control a number of Smart functions and media. Compliments my Apple TV and I don't have to load my phone up with apps I don't use regularly. It's got a great display, good memory and moves very fast.

Purchased this as a gift for my son. He is very happy - plenty of storage, sharp images on the screen, lightweight and perfect for university. Take notes, review texts, general browsing - very versatile and works with the Apple Pencil. I highly recommend this device.

Love this IPad, it was easy to set up, the battery life is great. Just the right size for me. The display looks good and it is much faster than my last iPad. The shipping was fast. I’m happy with this purchase and Best Buy.

Portable, great battery life, and powerful enough for all of my tasks. Really useful for media consumption and there is more than enough memory storage for whatever I want to save on it. Great for travel!

I loved my old iPad mini, but as Apple updated its iOS, it got slower, and slower and slower, to the point where simple stuff like surfing the web was like watching in slooooow motion. So I finally broke down and bought the new 9.7-inch iPad back in 2017. At least I could use the Apple Pencil with it. So mostly fine, but bigger and heavier than I prefer. Then a month or so ago I saw a mention online of a NEW mini! Somehow I'd missed the news of its release, but I didn't waste any time getting one--and a new Apple Pencil so I could give my old one (and my 2017 iPad) to my son. It's great having the added functionality of the pencil on the mini, even better to have the small size back, and especially the lightning-fast response of new hardware, built to run the latest iOS. I hate that they make us upgrade like this, but DANG, I sure do love my new iPad Mini!
