Apple decided to release to variants again. But the cost difference is as big as before (4th Gen 129 - 179). The gap is only $20; you get a wireless case, 1hr extra of playtime, volume control. Definitely worth the extra cost. The sound quality is subtly improved with reworked internals. Sound is balanced with quite a bit of emphasis on lows & highs. Vocals are clear & bass is felt without that muddying. Worth the purchase.

I’m very happy with these AirPods. The sound quality is excellent, with clear audio and great bass, and the Active Noise Cancellation works really well. They’re comfortable even when I wear them for a long time, and connecting them to my iPhone is quick and seamless. I also love the convenience of the wireless charging case. Great for music, calls, and everyday use. Definitely recommend them!

Just picked up these 5th gen AirPods after using the original AirPods for years. I was between these and the AirPod Pro 3s, but after seeing they have the same durability and already came with noise cancellation, I opted for the $100 cheaper ones- it was definitely the right choice! My family has pros, so I knew how they felt already, but I’m not a huge fan of the silicone in-ear, which is why I stuck with the original AirPods for so long. The new 5th gen AirPods combine the great (customizable) active noise canceling of the Pros with the feel of normal AirPods, and I couldn’t be happier. I especially love the bass quality, which is usually something you have to compromise on when you don’t have in-ear nubs, but it’s excellent with these! Battery and charging speed is great too for someone who listens to music throughout their day. If you’re looking for convenient, comfortable, and affordable, these are the earbuds for you.

I love the new features of touch on the side for volume,and play,pause,next on while listening to my music,the sound quality is very good as well and more comfortable than usual,mostly i use it at work while working so i can tell to the battery is good as well,connectivity wise there are certain feet until your connection well be disconnected if anyone need airpods for daily used this is my recommendation.

Sound quality is top tier, and the built in equalizer is phenomenal, battery life is really really good, and connectivity is really good !

I’ve had my last pair of AirPods for a few years now. They were solid. I upgraded to these though and they blow them out of the water. The noise cancellation is amazing for not being “pros.” And the bass is much deeper. The spatial awareness feature is cool, and I appreciate that you can mess with the EQ settings now. Another great product from Apple.
