They’re aesthetically cool, fits well and charges really fast. The sound quality could be better and doesnt compare to a lot of other headphones in the market. Overall theyre a decent pair of headphones and im sure more people would be interested in trying if they werent overpriced.

No secret, they are way over priced. I bought them while they were on sale ($100 off) and i had about $100 in reward certificates so i bought them. They are really nice, no doubt about it.. Are they worth $550? Hmmm, im still 50/50 on that.

These headphones sound nowhere near its price point. They're over built and extremely heavy for no reason.
The cover to put the headphones in standby is annoying and the sound is practically below average.
I have the Airpods Pro 2 in-ear and they sound miles better than than the Max. The headphones have no customizable EQ and sound verry muddy.
The only benefit to this is the Apple ecosystem and Dolby Atmos. You can use this across all your devices if this is your primary headset for which it will work well but for someone who listens to Apple Music, the Dolby Atmos tracks on this headphones have a lower than usual volume. Boosting up will get you distortion and at that point i pretty much lost any interest in them. THe same is true for Dolby Atmos content on Apple TV. The volume that you actually need for good depth on Atmos content, you get distortion.
I went back to the airpods pro as my daily use.
