Took about 5 minutes to set up & 3 hours to back up my MacBook Pro. I plan to back up my iMac & several other macs in the family over the holidays. That's why I bought the 3TB. I have an older 1TB that did exactly what it was suppose to do. My older iMac died. Recently purchased a new one, hooked it up to the time machine and overnight my new iMac looked just like the old one, just newer with current OS. I love it when machines do their job.

My wife and I both have Macbook Pro notebooks, the time capsule works perfectly to backup all of our files including those precious family pictures. Once you set it up it's done, you never have to worry about it again as it backs up your files automatically. The fact that it also is a wifi router that works much better than our old Cisco device is a major plus.

I bought this unit to replace an older unit. It is expensive, but quality and reliability make it worthy the extra $

I bought the 3TB to replace my older 1TB Apple Time Capsule. Easy plug and play. Open Airport Utilities on my Mac. Select the new Time Capsule and you're good to go.

Very Poor Quality for an Apple Product

First, let me start off by saying that I own just about every apple product out there because I believe in the quality of the products they produce. I also have over 15 years experience setting up networks for both PCs and Macs. This product has really disappointed me, not due to the fact that it will not work right out of the box like other apple products, but because it will not work with optical network terminals (FIOS) no matter what. My 2009 airport extreme, which I reverted to, configures itself in about 15 seconds and it's up and running. I spent 2 entire days trying to get this product to work: One day with a 2TB time capsule which I returned to best buy, because I figured it's defective. The second day with the 3TB time capsule which still will not work no matter what. Maybe this base station works great with other networking configurations, but if you have FIOS, save yourself some aggravation and stay away.
