Customers are saying

Customers praise the Dock Connector-to-VGA Adapter for Apple® iPad® for its ease of use, especially when connecting to a projector or monitor. They find it a great tool for presentations and displaying their iPad screens. However, some customers express concerns about its compatibility, as it is only suitable for iPads 2 and later versions, and its short cord length.

Wish I would have read the reviews first and found out that it only displays some apps. Videos and pics fine, but was hoping for Safari.

Overall good product. The only complaint I have is the 30 pin connector that goes into my iPad is sensitive and comes out easily.

Would be nicer if it had a long cable and if the plug locked onto the iPad

    Waste of Money - Terrible

Ok, this coming from a 25 year tech veteran... This is a complete waste of money. 1st - Apples site says it works with the iPhone, it does not! 2nd - Almost NO apps work with it!!! 3rd - What apps do work with it only work "partially" Let me explain... To view pictures, it will only work with the pictures in "slideshow" mode, you can not pause and look at individual pictures. It will NOT play videos from the video player. When you try it will tell you that the video is not licensed to be played on the external monitor. It WILL play Netflix videos but you will NOT get audio! I have gone through every app on my iPad, Netflix video and slide show are all that work. Hulu, tv.com, PBS, ABC, CNN, flixter... Awe heck, instead of listing what won't work, it's just easier to say almost NOTHING works on it! Oh, the app version of YouTube does but the video quality (without audio of course) is so terrible it's not worth saying it actually works! Do NOT buy this product unless all you intend on doing is sitting around watching a slideshow!

It is an OK accessory, but needs a longer cable. It is what it is.

I too wish I would have read the reviews before buying. When you buy apple you just expect things to work. I'm temped to take it back, won't be using it much.

DOES NOT just project whatever your iPad displays

This connector worked but it does not do what you think it will do. With the first generation iPad this connector will only allow video to be projected. If you want to project the internet it will not work. I was going to use for work instead of lugging around my laptop but I guess not. I returned the connector. NOTE: I heard that this is not an issue for iPad 2.
