I just purchased the ipad 2 dock. Very well constructed and a great item to have if you own an ipad 2. HOWEVER, the folks at apple really missed this one (or maybe not)! This is ONLY for the ipad 2. So, your iphone will not fit in the base. They should have really made this a universal base, but at $30 for this, $30 for the iphone, that puts about $50 in Apples hands!

This charger is great. Love charging my iPad up right. This is a must have for iPad owners.

What would make this even better would be to supply an additional cable, but it is great to use when you want to have the ipad work as an alarm and still continue to charge. I actually put this in the bedroom so I can charge overnight when needed. Wouldn't be without it now.

I was very impressed at first with this device. But then I realized I had to remove my cover for my iPad 2 in order to use this.

If you can't mount your ipad on this dock, you have bigger problems. Come on...really?!? It works fine and I like it.

I use the dock for charging my iPad, listening to music and podcasts, and having it attached to my stereo for better sound overall. The dock also works well if you like using the iPad with a wireless keyboard.

This is a great thing for the classroom where students can charge the iPads while using them to lear

The dock is compact but functional. I would give it a 5 if I didn't have to take the back cover off to connect.

Get it if you FaceTime or email a lot. If you prefer landscape, skip it.

I returned the dock because it can't be used with a case. The connector is not long enough to actually plug into the iPad unless you remove the case. Dumb! I wanted it to have a place where I could just drop the iPad onto the dock, have it charge, and have the dock connect to my stereo. It failed. I suppose the design works great if you're showing off an iPad in a store, but it fails miserably in practical use. Who wants to remove the case every day in order to charge?

the ipad does not fit well in this dock, even with the Apple Cover attached. Really poorly designed.

I had to take this back to the store. I was excited that I could get my IPad to stand up and at the same time, charge it, but I worked and worked and couldn't get my IPad to "seat" in the device. I was afraid to force it being aware that I could break the connection pieces. I bought something else for way less in a drug store that did what I wanted......at least for $10 it did.
