I bought this purely as an upgrade from the original Mini for my wife. She uses it for everything... games, email, movies, Facebook and web surfing/shopping. The new retina display is amazing as expected. It now matches that of my 4th gen iPad. The only real negative is that the slight increase in thickness was just enough to not fit the Zagg keyboard/folio case. Oh well, Amazon to the rescue...

Best Buy had the best deals on iPads. Purchased my larger iPad through Best Buy and loved it! It was time to get a mini one and of course got a great deal (so much so that another was purchased for my son). It's compact and has so many cool features. It's not as heavy as the old iPad and can easily be carried around. Love the smaller version! Thanks for the great deals, Best Buy!!

Love the mini! Use it to plan and teach lessons. My kids love playing on it too.

My mini is great for travel. Even though it's small the screen resolution is great. I'm still learning about the features, but I don't have any complaints.

I really enjoy being able to connect with my children using my iPad and FaceTime. It's so easy to take pictures and put them on face book or email them.

I love my iPad mini, I sure made a good decision investing in this iPad instead of a computer or laptop, I can carry it anywhere I go, it's not heavy and it's more practical, I can do my work, create spreadsheets, read books, play, pay my bills, I can pretty much do anything. This is far most the best decision I've had in purchasing an electronic. Love it, love it, love it!

Compared to the ipad 2 I had before obtaining the mini, i really like the size difference even tho it is smaller (which is what i was worried about, before hand) but it packs a punch with the retina display. I was told that retina really didnt make a difference with the ipad but i can see with some apps it can give you every detail retina gives out. The difference i believe between the ipad 2 and the mini personally i think is the speakers, the iphone has better speakers then my ipad mini with output and quality.

My son really like it for school.Is easy to carry and to do homework.

I got the slimmest case and I still don't love it. But the unit itself is perfect. It has replaced paper for me completely. I use it to read and watch videos primarily. Find myself reading a lot more books now that I'm essentially carrying books with me everywhere I go. Carry a tiny stylus and use writing apps to replace scratch paper, legal pads and sticky notes.

My 9yr old son bought this for myself after he took his first I pad mini swimming. He is very happy with his purchase. The screen is clear and pretty. Easy to use. The small size is perfect for his small hands.

My wife and I purchased this for a cross-country trip, so the kids would have something to watch on the airplane. (at least that's her story... I think she wanted an iPad). Setup: We got it as an open box item. Highly recommended. Saved $40. We're Apple converts, and have other Apple devices (1st get iPad, iPhones, Macs), and setting it up on her iMac was a breeze, just getting the settings correct is a trick if you use one Apple ID for iTunes, and the other for iCloud. Here's the trick: When setting up the device, use the iCloud settings, then in iTunes, change it out to the purchasing account. This way, you have all of your music/apps/movies with the account that buys stuff, and you still get messages on your i-Device. Use: Well, it's an iPad... use it like one. One thing I put in the "bad" column is the lack of cover. It would be nice to have a cover included, and then we can get one we like afterward. Nothing like having an out-of box experience of a $700 device that one drop will, at bed scratch it, and at worst, break it. End: Well, the wife and kids made it across the country, and the iPad was well used to watch Frozen, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs I/II, and there were no issues... and now, Mrs. thequick has a new iPad and loves it!
