This is my first smartphone. So far it is perfect. I like the fact that I always have a quality camera handy. I also like how easy it is to use and it looks great!

I had no intention on upgrading to the 5S from the 5, since my contract was not up yet. But with family share, we had two phones that were upgrade ready, and Verizon doesn't give you any break on your monthly rate once you have "paid off" your phone. Coupled that with a one night only BestBuy special for Rewards members that they gave us a $200 gift card for the trade in of my wife's 4S (she took the 5, gave me the credit for the 5S) so the 5S was essentially free. I did not think I needed the upgrade, but the touch sensor has made life just a bit easier. I now have a 10 digit log in number, rather than the low security 4 digit, but the fingerprint sensor works quite well. When iTunes wants you to give again your AppleID password, the TouchID does it in a jiffy. It seems that iTunes asks for that ID number way too often, but now it is easy to comply. Other than that, I am not aware of much advancement. The processor is faster, noticeably so, but the 5 was plenty fast for me. The camera is supposed to have high resolution, I think, but the 5 was quite amazing as a phone camera.

I was very impressed with the iphone5s considering I haven't upgraded my device since the iphone 4. I love the new design of the phone. It is very slim and has an impressively large screen without being too big. I love all the new features and the phone is definitely a lot faster. Aside from the price I love this phone. But considering all of the features it is beyond worth it

I won't go into a full on mobile OS discussion. Each of the mobile operating systems have their followings. I will say that I've used Android for many years and loved it, however I just had too many usability issues and had to make a change. Android was wonderful to use and play around with, but when the most important tasks for me (phone calls, navigation) began to freeze and/or crash my device, I found that unacceptable. The iPhone does not have the customizability that Android has, or the options that the Android ecosystem can offer in terms of hardware, but it is a great all around device. The hardware and design are top-notch, the OS is user-friendly and offers plenty of power and functionality, the camera takes great pictures, and it dependably makes/receives calls and gives me turn-by-turn directions to where I need to go without hiccups or incidents. Verizon's LTE service has been great for me. The display is beautiful, the size works really well for everyday use, and the only nits I'll pick are that I do need to charge before the end of the day on occasion, and Apple has disabled push email service with my gmail account.

I love my 5s! The one main negative is the short battery life which was very disappointing. But I do love the fingerprint reader. When on 4g, the phone is super fast. Picture quality is great. Overall great phone with the exception of the battery!

This phone is fast, easy to use and it works. Every single text. Every single call. Every single photo. No bogging down in a web search. And, it fits nicely in the hand in addition to being a nice-looking piece of technology.

The good: The iPhone 5S delivers an improved camera, a nifty fingerprint sensor, and a next-gen CPU and motion-tracking chip. Apple throws in the iWork app suite for free. iOS 7 adds some nice step-ups, too, including AirDrop file transfers and the Android-like Control Center. The bad: External design is identical to that of the iPhone 5, including a 4-inch screen that looks downright tiny next to Android competitors. For now, the fingerprint sensor only works with Apple apps. The 64-bit A7 processor and M7 motion-tracking chip don't have killer apps yet. iOS 7 differences are potentially jarring for longtime iPhone users. The bottom line: The iPhone 5S is not a required upgrade, but it's easily the fastest and most advanced Apple smartphone to date.

Love everything about it. Easy texting and camera much better. Music functions great.

It is everything you expect from an Apple iPhone and more. the new thumbprint scan is cool but I have only ever used it when I first set up my phone so far. I don't make many purchases. The camera is a bit better. The back camera was always good but They did improve to front camera some. The battery life is supposed to be longer but I am not seeing that at all. If anything my battery dies faster than it did with the 4s. As far as I'm concerned the rest of the upgrades are mostly just "visual" upgrades. An iPhone is an iPhone. They're all great quality and do more than you could ever need them to.

The phone features are very good. It's attractive, dependable, easy to use, has a wealth of functions and short cuts to learn that keep it interesting! The camera is also very easy to use, and the quality of the pictures is very good. The battery life has been impressive. I hope Apple will work to make the phones more durable, especially the glass. I've had the 4s, the 5, and now the 5S. While it is not radically improved, this is the fastest, the most versatile, and the best so far. As always, the ability to sync all of my Apple products with ease is a bonus, and the security of buying quality Apple products remains a significant deciding factor for me

I am a huge apple fan and they make the best phones out there. I am very pleased with the new incarnation of the iPhone. Great screen, camera, speed, physical build. Glad I bought it!!

I purchased an iPhone 5s for my wife, moving her up from a base phone to a smartphone. She gets very frustrated with it and threatens to take it back. She finds it difficult to master, complains that taps on the screen do not always produce results, and is frustrated that the battery does not last as long as she feels it should. I had an iPhone 4s and liked it very much but switched to the larger Samsung Note 3 and so far am very happy with it. Enlarging the print on the iPhone for better readability consumes too much of the screen. Hopefully the next iPhone will remedy that problem. The iPhone 5s is somewhat different from the 4s and, based on my brief experience with it via my wife, it does not seem to operate as logically as the 4s. However, the quality and number of apps available for the iPhone and the ease of obtaining music from the iTunes Store are definite pluses. The camera is easy to operate and produces good pictures. I wish the iPhone communicated more readily with non-Mac computers but, in spite of my complaints, I like the iPhone and would recommend it to a friend.

This is a great phone. I upgraded from a 3G 4S and it is faster. The finger print reader works well unless you hands are dry and chaffed from the cold. Larger screen but still lighter than 4S. It has a better camera.

I previously had a iPhone 4 and this is a major improvement. The picture quality and speed is much faster. Looking forward to a bigger screen size in the future.

I only got the new 5s because my 4 had been due for an upgrade for quite some time and had gotten painfully slow. My previous iPhone only had 16GB memory, so I got the 32GB when upgrading. It's obviously faster & now I have tons of room. I have the gold 5s, which looks pretty sharp. I haven't had much issue with scratching or cracking--not any more so than with previous iPhones--because I keep it in a wallet case. Other than the fingerprint unlock feature, it seems pretty much the same to me. There are slight differences. But nothing I would have forked over tons of cash for if I didn't have an upgrade. Don't get me wrong; I love Apple & think it's a great product....the price is just a little out there. The only issue I have had so far is that the fingerprint option does not work sometimes and makes you put in the passcode...but this is obviously not anything that is a complete disaster, just slightly lame since it is one of the most talked about new features. I'm pretty happy with it though!

So far so good. I had the 4s and I was going to wait until the 6 came out. But best buy made me a deal I couldn't pass up. I love this phone! The camera options are fantastic. With the burst mode and auto HDR makes it great. The screen size is great and with the ios 7 updates I love it even more. The only problem I've had was with the signal. It's LTE, but I have signal problems even when I have more than enough bars. I switched it to 3G and I get a better response and less signal issues. Overall battery life for me has improved and I couldn't be happier. I will be going back to best buy for the 6 and I will give my wife my 5s. Not because I don't like what I have, but I am looking forward to the 6!

I really like the iphone 5s. It is fast and responsive. Good call quality. I really have been an iphone fan since I bought my first iphone 2 years ago. This phone does not disappoint. The finger print scanner took some getting used to but it works great after some practice. Only drawbacks are price and battery does not seem to last as long as my last iphone 4s. Otherwise it is a great phone.

I've been an iphone user since the 3G model. After having my 4S for 2 years I thought I might give the Samsung Galaxy S4 a try. I didn't even keep that phone a week. While it had a few nice features (removable memory, big screen), it felt cheap (made of plastic) and the android operating system just isn't as good as ios. Apple's products IMHO are far superior in build quality, style, and usability. The fingerprint sensor works great and you can now avoid putting in a passcode every time you want to use your phone.

I switched from an Android based phone a couple years back to the 4S and now upgraded to the 5S. I will NEVER own an Android phone again. The simplicity of the phone makes it clean and very intuitive. The camera is great, and I love being able to share pics and videos with family and friends so easily. FaceTime is a must for people who spend anytime away from friends and family. Apple hit a home run with this one!
