I have had iPhones since they have come out and have loved them, but this one by far is the worst one I have ever owned, and I have had a Pantac flip phone with a keyboard and it was better than this phone. The talk to dictation is a joke and I have to restart programs all the time like for messages, it won't have a data box to type a response and I will double click the menu and restart the program to get the datat box back. Last time I will ever get an Apple product.

While this iPhone may not make much sense for most people to upgrade to, I thought that it was a suitable upgrade from the 6S Plus. It is blazing fast and has an amazing battery life, with the added benefits of new cameras and wireless charging! I personally greatly enjoy this product and would definitely recommend it to those who are looking to upgrade!

I have always been the type to purchase the latest and greatest iPhone. I have had every iPhone since the iPhone 3G. When the X was announced, I was very impressed with the display and technology behind FaceID, however, TouchID was something I was not willing to give up. I tried a Samsung Galaxy S8+ and loved the display and force press home button at the bottom. I returned the device due to the OS and applications were not as well built as with iOS. I chose this 8+ due to having Touch ID, ability to have a home button of some sort, wider aspect ratio, $200 cheaper, easier repairability. This phone has the exact same specs for the exception of the display, FaceID, and OIS on the telephoto lens which I rarely use anyways. Battery life coming from a 7+ is great, although a modest improvement. I can usually get about 8 hours of usage and 24 hours of standby. Video quality seems to be greatly improved, I love 4K 60 FPS and 1080P 240 FPS is amazing! Overall speed and performance is unreal. It's amazing how fast the A11 chip is. I love wireless charging. Picked up some Samsung wireless chargers and I don't think I have plugged the phone in once since i've had it. I will say that I had to put the phone on a scheduled DND since I am unable to lay it on it's face to charge with wireless charging. At night, notifications would illuminate my entire bedroom if I did not schedule DND.

Awesome device! Easy to navigate, sync with other devices & media via iCloud & iTunes! A little bulky, but the larger screen is awesome! I like the ability to charge by setting it on top of the charger. Note: you lose the analogue jack on this version and have to use the adapter so be sure to purchase the charging base so you can charge whilst grooving to your music!!!

Made the move from the 6S to the 8Plus and very happy with this decision. Love the bigger, clearer screen and still fits in my pockets and purses nicely. Love the wireless charging feature. Better pictures, better sound and great for streaming. Fast! Love it and will keep this one for awhile.

The iPhone 8 Plus is just as fast as the iPhone X since they both have the same processor and same camera. The 8 Plus lets you keep the Touch ID and still have more screen real estate to use. Battery lasts a whole day and then some.

upgraded from iPhone 6 got the bigger screen and i love it plus i get much better battery life . The phone is faster and easier to use

I was rocking an iPhone 5 (16gb) for the last 4.9 years and was long overdo for a new iPhone. I'm a huge photography nut and I have over 85+ gb of music let alone all of the pics and videos that I take. On top of that I like to run quite a few apps and sometimes at the same time. Take this all in with a much bigger screen and a faster chip set/ processor and this iPhone 8+ 256 is a beast! It has changed my music, hobbies, work functionality, and I'm still just getting started. Waiting so long to upgrade was a mistake. All I did was put myself behind personally and professionally. This phone is a BEAST! I LOVE IT!

I made the choice to purchase the iPhone 8plus instead of going to the latest, up and coming X phone because of a couple reasons, 1, the removal of the touch sensor/home spot and 2, I want to give the “X” line at least a generation to see if that’s the ultimate differection Apple is headed or, if it’s just the beginning to a greater blueprint. As an iPhone 7 Plus owner, in the aesthetics department this phone feels identical. The wireless charging is workable, (purchased an inexpensive Insignia brand) true tone looks very much so like my Gen 2 iPad Pro! Processor is amazing, to know it’s the same brains that you’ll get in the “X” was enough for me, all perks while retaining the consistency of battery life.

The Bottom Line The iPhone 8 Plus is a great phone with a spectacular camera that offers a lot of what iPhone X has under the hood, but in a lot less exciting body.

It’s an iPhone. Other mobile phones aren’t. Do you need more? I previously had an iPhone 6 Plus for three years. This is a definite improvement in speed and connectivity. I haven’t tried all the new features yet. It’s a noticeably heavier iPhone than the 6 Plus due to 3D Touch mechanism and the glass back panel. New features like 3D Touch and raise to wake reduce the number of times you push buttons. The updated home button (vs the 6) is markedly faster. My only thing I haven’t liked is that the 3D Touch vibration is noticeably weaker than the iPhones without 3D Touch, even turned up to max. Definitely a good upgrade for pre-7 owners.

Amazing features on the camera! I wish there was a guide of how to get the most out of your phone when you switch to a new one! I had some problems setting it up, the light is like a beacon for boats while sweating it up and the process took over a half hour and I switched fro and iPhone 6s w only 16 gbs so there wasn’t much to do. It has updated 3xs already and I’m learning as I go but a tutorial would be great to come w the phone. I am sad that you don’t provide the charging split to charge and have head phones if need be but I guess everything cost money. The water proof feature is nice but I am scared to try it even w a life proof case on. I do have problem w getting reception and late texts messages I am told they sent it previous. And I can be sitting in the same place and have two bars and a minute later I look up and there are four bars and I have Verizon which is prominent in our area... told there isn’t a resolution that just happens sometimes. I hate that they took away the keyboard feature to double click caps lock to keep capital letters going! The lighting is crazy on this I’m sure if a zombie apocalypse happens I can keep them away! Camera is great processing seems slow at times but told that must be cell service so I’m confused which it really is. I love my iPhone either way and wouldn’t ever go back to android. I have a ton of storage now too! With a case it’s hard to hear and sometimes they can’t hear me too but being told that’s the case... maybe we need more volume or a setting that you have a case on it.... hmmm only other thing is the pricing for these is sooooo expensive by now you must have constantly reused some designed parts that shouldn’t cost so much to roll out new ones! I’m glad I won a certificate at Best Buy to pay for most of it! Otherwise I never buy new wait a year and it $3-400 cheaper.

This is my 4th IPhone, started out with a 4s and wow does that seem antique now. I upgraded from a 6s plus to this one and really wasn't expecting a big change. I can tell that this one is much faster and like the new camera features. I was bummed after upgrading my 6s to IOS 11 because there were many times it locked up and a few of my apps didn't work well. I think apple needs to do more testing on older phones before throwing out a new os to everyone. I really like the wireless charging also. I was afraid I wouldn't charge through my Otter Box defender case but sat it down on my charge pad and away it went. I bought the Belkin power up charge mat and it works great, faster than using the oem cable. So far I really like my 8+, was gonna go with the X but figured I do that one ( or what ever the new model is by then) next time.

I used to not be one to upgrade to a new phone every year but now I can't wait till the new iPhone is released with the Sprint iPhone forever plan. I've only ever had a regular iPhone and decided to try out the plus for the bigger screen size and dual camera for better pictures. I love it. The camera takes amazing photos and though the iPhone 8 may be more iterative than the 7, I am enjoying all of the neat features of the 8 Plus. Even more now I love that I have more space for apps and pictures than before. It just means I don't have to store stuff in the cloud as often.

I actually upgraded to the 8 Plus after saying I was keeping my 7 Plus. However it is a great upgrade even from the 7 Plus. Wireless charging, tru tone display and AWESOME battery life. It’s well worth the upgrade. It’s also much faster. If you have anything before a 7 you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed. I did try the X but did not like the size so I stuck with the Plus models. Best Buy gave me $400 for my 7 Plus in store credit that I put towards my 8 Plus. I cut my monthly payment down to $19. I’m on Verizon and I love it. Happy with my 8 Plus for a couple years.

Last November I made the switch. Ever since modern smartphones began around 2007-2008, I'd been an Android fan. I had the original Droid from Motorola, then a couple of follow up Motorola models...I then bought an HTC 8 which I loved, a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge which I loved, with some caveats, then after ten years of Android, I made the switch to iPhone! What made me change? I bought my wife her first smartphone recently; an iPhone 6s. Setting it up for her I immediately noticed the jewel like quality of the device; the hardware. Playing with the phone I also noticed the flawless and seamless operation of the iOS. I was mesmerized. THIS was a great phone. Even though I had a few months left until 2 years was up on my Galaxy S7 edge, I went into Verizon's store and made the switch. It's been almost ten months and the novelty of the iPhone still hasn't worn off. It's simply the best phone I've ever owned. I chose the iPhone 8 4.7 inch screen for it's size. The camera is fabulous and the operating system is so smooth. I own an iPad so it wasn't a total surprise but there are no more Android jutters and flaws. I didn't get the iPhone X because I love the perfection of Apple's fingerprint sensor. I love the home button and to my eye there wasn't a huge difference in display quality, since Apple knows how to make a GREAT LCD screen. I used to like all of the customization available on Android but Apple now has Google Calendar (which I love) and third party swype-type keyboards, which are a must for me. Apple lets the user customize much more than previously. I love getting my iTunes music library on my phone now too. I guess I'm an iPhone fanboy for life now. This iPhone 8 is the very last iPhone of this perfect size and a home button. Rumor has it Apple is working on an under-screen fingerprint sensor for it's 2019 iPhones and I may upgrade to the iPhone 12 then but for now, the iPhone 8 with it's wireless charging, good battery life, smooth operation, great camera and super high quality construction is my best phone ever! You cannot go wrong with this

I've had this phone now for a couple of months and now feel comfortable reviewing this. I previously came from an iphone 6, not the plus, so this was a bit of an upgrade for me. I love the size first of all... it really does make viewing anything in it quite a pleasure and I see more information per page now versus the standard iphone size. Compared to the iphone 10... I believe the features to mostly (95%) be the same. Sure there is no button anymore but I believe that I am able to open my phone faster than the X simply due to the fingerprint sensor. In comparison, the X does look great as the absence of the button does make it look more minimal and "technologically advanced". I guess if you really wanted the better resolution but not the size of the phone as I have heard many people say that they can't get the plus due to its sheer size, then get the X. Still, I could not justify the extra $200 for the X... nor the wait at the time. I'd like to think that these days most of these phones are comparable. The things I mostly value in a cell phone in this day and age include the following: battery life, charging time, texting, and email. I'd say most cell phones are capable of high ratings in those departments. Because for me the plus provided the largest battery life, I got it and have been extremely satisfied with it. Other than a couple other things, which are due to software updates and such, I believe this phone to perfectly fulfill my needs.

I’ve been on iOS forever. Love the new Samsung hardware but I love iOS more. It’s what I’m used to, what I know and it works with pretty much most applications because a ton of other people use iPhones. That said, I felt kind of underwhelmed by the flagship this year. While the X has some neat new features, I don’t want to be the guinea pig for the phone of the future. For the money, it’s just not worth it to me, but this is just my opinion. I figured I’d let Apple take another year or so to work on OLED, interface-finessing and so forth. So I went with a tried and true design. This design has been around for a few years in most regards. However, I tend to like things that are solid performers and dialed in. The last thing I want to do is be frustrated by new tech. That notch is fine to me, but I bet it poses a lot of UI challenges and the need for specialized support for mobile web (especially on fixed sticky-navs). True, the exterior design on the 8 series is a bit long in the tooth, but the screen is plenty big for media content, faster typing, etc. and the speakers sound good for a phone. The processor (same as the one in the flagship) is snappy. And, Touch ID works quite well and I like using it. This is another HUGE reason I stayed with the legacy-design. While Face ID may be great and all (and do t get me wrong, the X’s cameras and AR capabilities with face mapping are really amazing) I just don’t want to always have to gaze awkwardly at my phone to do things. It will get better I’m sure, but Touch ID is fine and I will continue hoping they retain it in the future–even if under the screen, which would be ideal. The glass back is fine. While it looks nice out of the case, mine goes right into a case so it’s whatever. I would prefer aluminum but glass is fine if I ever use wireless charging…which for me is still a few years off b/c I don’t want to spend the scratch for a slower charging process. Again, perhaps that will get better. I don’t really care about the lack of a headphone jack. I use AirPods or Beats Solo3s anyways, so I ditched wires a while back for listening to music. The sound quality is good enough for me. Lastly, battery life is good, there are a ton of first and third party accessories available and I have zero regrets on updating to the larger screen format from my 6S which was a great phone and was still performing well for me. I just wanted a bit better camera and my dad needed a new phone, so there you go. My wife upgraded her older 6+ for an 8+ and she’s enjoying hers as well. Final thought: I use my phone more than most other things and it does a large number of tasks and provides a lot of entertainment for me. I want something snappy, reliable, well supported and secure. It’s a big investment, but if this phone can last me 3 years, I’ll be quite pleased and based on the performance of my 6s (my batteries were replaced by Apple about just over a year in, so I never experienced this slow down that was sensationalized in the media) I feel it will continue to work well for my needs.

When I first got this phone I had to get use with all the navigating from an android user for 8yrs. I would only hade one or two problem with it compare to android that freezes on me every hour of using it, my apps would crash, at a point where I get annoyed using my android phone. So, I tried to switch to apple and see whats up. I would say Im glad I did try this. I love the camera, the selfie camera not so much, I like the wide angle camera on my previous phone(samsung s6). The system runs really smooth with the A11 bionic chip. I use a lot of apps on my phone for many reasons and this iphone handles it all well. Overall, I think Ill stick with this phone for a little while untill another device comes up that I think worth switching.
