I debated a lot about this phone or the X, Note 8 and S8+. I’ve had iPhones since the 3GS and tried a few Android devices in between. Samsung makes wonderful phones, just not a fan of the android software. All the benefits of android don’t really apply to me. I don’t customize or need all the bells/whistles just a very solid phone that works. I had a iPhone 6 for 3 years and it was very solid. It begun slowing down after iOS 11 using multiple apps more so than the past so I upgraded to the 8. The X was simply out of my budget. If the Note 8 or maybe S8+ ran iOS I would have bought one of those. Overall going to the 8 was a simple process with the new migration in iOS 11, I was transferred over and fully working in 20 minutes. Sold old phone on swappa and away I go. Overall the 8 Plus is a very good phone. Camera is nice, MUCH faster than my 6, but otherwise much like my previous phone. True tone display sounds nice and works but found it to be of little value to me. Probably more useful on larger screens such as the iPad. Battery life is excellent as usual. Probably could go 2 days on my use. I also have an Apple Watch, no issues there either. I’m happy with it.

I was interested in upgrading my iPhone and went to Best Buy to explore my options. The Best Buy Tech person listened to my needs and ran comparisons of the 7, 8 and X models where I wound up choosing this 8 Plus phone and am very happy with it so far. The set up and integration to my current cell account was quick and seamless. The transfer of my data to the new phone was quick and painless and the credit I received for the turned in iphone was a big plus. So far I'm very satisfied with the new phone's battery live, screen size, resolution and very fast processor speed. The camera is excellent for both photos as well as video. I would recommend Best Buy if anyone is interested in upgrading their iPhone!

Oh this phone is snappy! Going from the SE to the 8 is pretty nice. Yes there is no plug in for headphones, the 8+ has more features but it comes with earphones with a lightning connector. It even comes with plug in for earphones that will never get used. 5 watt adapter. I think apple could send some more extras but oh well. Typing with one hand kind of sucks but oh wait there’s a feature for that I can have the keyboard on one side. The phone is heavier though. It feels really nice and smooth. I got a bulky case for it. I’m thinking a screen protector and a skin case would feel more comfy. I feel like the phone is more comfy without a case. Set up is a breeze with another apple device. Of course this phone was still on iOS 11 I’m guessing it would’ve been a much more smoother set up on iOS 12. iOS 11 was pain. 12 runs smooth even on my husband’s 5s. I was worried the screen would be just a slight bigger and I might hate it. I think the plus might be a bit too big unless maybe with the right case. Gaming and videos work good for me for this screen size. I was hoping I could set it on the counter and watch it I’m not sure about that. Speakers sound great. The home button is different I’m not sure if it’s good or bad. Overall I like it a lot

I upgraded from a IPhone 6 and the additional features and capabilities of the IPhone 8 Plus are great. Camera capabilities, screen size, processor speed, battery life, etc all much improved.

It was a really nice phone. Great camera for people love selfie. High speed and Long hour battery compare to my last Galaxy. First time i used Apple product and i am in love with it.

I'm prefacing this review by stating I spent A LOT of time researching the pros and cons of the iPhone 8 Plus versus the iPhone X. Ultimately, I decided to go with the 8 Plus for a couple of reasons. -TouchID vs FaceID: I am not convinced Apple needed an alternative lock mechanism for iOS, and I don't think FaceID is the answer. For one, you have to be looking at your phone directly to unlock it. There are many times where I'm at my desk at work and my phone is a few feet to my side. Having the ability to unlock the phone with my finger without always bringing the phone up to my face is actually pretty important. -Screen size: Despite Apple's marketing, the iPhone 8 Plus still has more screen real estate than the iPhone X. By only increasing the height of the iPhone X rather than the width, Apple distorted the aspect ratio. Most videos on Youtube or other common streaming apps don't support the full ratio on the iPhone X, so you're not really getting anything more for that extra $200. -Price: As I just mentioned, the iPhone 8 Plus is at least $200 cheaper than the iPhone X for the base model. This is not something to ignore considering how overpriced iPhones are to begin with. Given how quickly most Americans purchase new smartphones, it might be worth it to start picking a slightly cheaper model that does almost exactly the same thing as the more expensive one. Finally, the last reason that caused me to pick the 8 Plus over the X is because Apple released the 8 Plus in this gorgeous red edition. This phone is SLEEK, and with a clear case you can really show off the beautiful design of your new phone.

I love my new iPhone 8 plus - it is easy to use. Apple provides you with tips to get the best performance. The camera takes great pictures. The battery lasts a long time.

Upgraded from a 6s. Really like the larger screen size. Battery is much better than the reduced capacity that my 6s had gone down to. Very speedy as well. No complaints.

I upgraded my phone from an iPhone 6 to the iPhone 8 Plus and I love it! The size and picture are great! The camera is incredible and the battery life is great too!

My son was still using a flip phone, and for a variety of reasons, I wanted to get him a smart device for his telephone, texting, and data needs. I had a year-old iPhone 7 Plus, myself, and was itching to upgrade, and so I decided to hand my 7 Plus down to him and purchase either an iPhone X or iPhone 8 Plus for myself. I considered the X, but was turned off by the loss of the fingerprint sensor for awakening/unlocking the phone; I am a long distance runner who often has my iPhone strapped to my left arm. Having to look directly at the phone to unlock it while running seemed like a non-starter in that situation. It also seemed like having to look directly at the phone to unlock it would prove difficult if one often finds oneself trapped in never-ending meetings and if, during such occasions, one would like to sneak a peek every now and then at one's e-mail or fire off a quick text without anyone noticing. And so I opted for the 8 Plus. I have not regretted it. While there are a number of differences between the 7 Plus and the 8 Plus, two great differences stand out for me. First, the 8 Plus has a higher storage capacity than its predecessor. And second, the 8 Plus has "wireless" charging. Both are features that I make great use of now that I have upgraded to the 8 Plus. With respect to the "wireless" charging, I wound up purchasing three wireless charging devices (one for my bedroom, one for my home office, and one for my work office). Once those devices are plugged into an outlet, one simply places ones iPhone in the charging cradle, and the phone begins charging without the necessity of plugging the phone into a lightning cable. The charging occurs even when the iPhone is in a protective case (I have a leather case). I even have found the wireless charging convenient in a few airports since I bought the 8 Plus. I think it was Atlanta's airport that had a wireless charging mat. Or was it Houston's? As for whether the iPhone 8 Plus is more responsive than the 7 Plus or has longer battery life, if so, I didn't notice it. Would I recommend to a friend? Well, certainly if this would be his or her first iPhone, if it would be replacing a non-Plus model, or if it would be replacing a model made before the iPhone 7. But if you already have an iPhone that is working well, if you are not running out of space on it to store your apps and data, and if wireless charging is not something important to you, it would not likely be worth the extra money to get the 8 Plus.

I️ just love this phone. It’s easy to use and very thin . As I’m getting older I️ appreciate the larger screen. It’s still very light. The camera is fabulous.

I have owned many iPhones, but this one was my first large iPhone! I love the performance and the screen size! It was a little glitchy when I first received it, but some updates from apple helped work out the kinks. I would recommend this one over the iPhone 10 due to the fact that it still has a home button and bezel, which isn't always a bad thing. It also has a pretty solid battery life.

Nothing special, but exactly what I expected. It is faster, has a better camera, everything you would expect in a new smart phone. All with out the glitches of the iPhone X. Don’t buy a heavy or bulky case, it’ll just be too big for the Plus, also the battery life is fine you don’t need a battery case.

I upgraded to this phone from an iPhone 6S and to be honest,I don't notice a ton of difference in features or performance. The camera is great,and I really like the PLUS size. I did not really feel like forking over the extra money for the X...so the 8 Plus fit the bill. Some might wonder if it is too big...the only time it becomes an issue is in the car. It does not easily fit in the center console or cup holder very well, but no problems in front pocket. What else is there to say.....it is an iPhone...and they have always been good.

Okay so I have been an iPhone user for 6 years and I love my iPhone I decided to get a new one because my iPhone 6 plus was going out getting slow and all of that and I'm glad that I got this iphone with 256GB I feel like I can do anything and everything with the amount of storage that I have and not haft to worry about running out of space but this phone is FAST!!! and very responsive it opens apps really fast if your upgrading from an iPhone 6 or earlier I would highly recommend getting this phone it will not disapoint!!!

Upgraded from the iPhone 6 plus, mostly for the storage space. Since it is basically the same form as the 6 plus, it didn't take any getting used to. The increased speed and functionality is small but noticeable.

My old phone was almost maxed out in storage was older so upgraded to 8 plus! Faster on some things better pics! I like it!!! 256 Mg

Great Phone. I was going to buy the iPhone X at first, but thought it was too gimmicky. Its a all "faceID" type of iPhone, I am not really drawn to that feature too much. I just need a iPhone that will work for me. I asked one of the Best Buy employees that had this version previously from her iPhone X upgrade, she felt that the iPhone 8 Plus had a better battery life. So one is expensive, and the other one is more expensive. I decided on the iPhone 8 plus instead, because its at a better price point, and has a better battery life. For a phone that has a enclosed battery, that is something really important to think of. The only real difference from both phones are their screens. The iPhone 8 plus screen is at 5.5 inch with a better battery, and the iPhone X edge to edge screen is at 5.8 inch, plus its FaceID/AugmentedReality feature. Other then that they're technically the same phone.
