    it's an iPod

I finally submitted myself to the mighty apple. This is a great piece of hardware, slender, elegant, exceptionally well engineered. It's unfortunate that apple won't let my computer treat this like a drag and drop storage device, you must install iTunes and that's where the horror begins. After years of apple bigots telling me that everything apple is better because it is intuitive I can say there is nothing intuitive about iTunes, and the software has so many traps and pitfalls I can't begin to list them all. I had over 6GB of Mp3 songs on my PC. itunes decided that my blues collection CDs were 100's of CDs with 1-2 songs by each artist. itunes can't find album art for stuff thats in CDDB, instead they use their own database that is woefully incomplete. But what amazed me the most was that beginning with itunes 11 apple dropped support for the industry standard lossless audit format (WAV). My suggestions: make sure you don't let itunes "manage your music", do NOT consolidate your existing music, where possible use iTools instead of iTunes.

This is my fourth ipod from apple. Never had a problem with any of the machines. Very easy to sync your files with. Plenty of storage for music, movies and apps. The fifth generation ipod is bigger than the fourth generation product. It is about the size of the iphone. The only downside is the back of the machine will get scratched if the case you buy sucks.

Great upgrade for old iPod touch to new

Ah a new 5th gen iPod touch and I recommend this to anyone that was pre-iOS 6 users like myself and all apps will work on the new iPod and in some cases when I was playing a game it was going way faster than normal and graphics were more cleaner. Controls are the same as the other models meaning simple and clear. But I do have a few problems with it even though it's minor but I need to address them first is the screen is longer...ok that's fine but it's not wider mean someone with big fingers will have problems using this. Second the device cool design but I think is way too thin it almost looks like I can just bend it and break it. Last and this is a silly one but why do we need a wrist strap...ok some of you may like that but I don't care for the strap I rather have another mini speaker which is in this iPod than this but you can close it so I don't have to use it but you know what I mean. But again those are minor problems and if you have apps or an iPod that can't use the new system it's time to upgrade and it's worth the money unless your device can do iOS6 it's your call if you really want to upgrade.

Love this iPod. I have 7000+ songs with additional space left. It's small and lightweight which makes it easy to travel with. I also have my favorite apps on here so I don't have to drain my phone battery. Overall I highly recommend this product if you're looking for an iPod.

I didn't want an iPhone or even a smartphone but still wanted the most efficient and convenient way to store and listen to music. The iPod touch seemed to be the best option and I believe to be the correct option. I have enjoyed it every time I use it. I mainly use it to listen to music as I intended and it works and sounds great. I bought a sound dock for my iPod touch and plays as great as any CD player. The storage space is also the best option for me since I wanted to store all my music on my iPod. The capacity isn't 64 GB though but 56.65 GB which is still more than other brands. The iPod is an expensive, high end device but it was worth it for me since I wanted the most capacity on my iPod. I could afford it and have no regrets about it.

I love my I Pod Touch! I use it to store my music library in my car so I don't get the muting notification when an incoming e-mail arrives (as I experience on my I Phone 6 Plus). Great battery life, too.

I upgraded from 32 GB to 64 GB. Uploads much faster. great for watching videos and listening to my many songs on my expanded play list. Only issue with the old IPOD's I've had is that they stop keeping a charge and the charge port gets dirty and no longer can you charge it so I've had to replace two previous IPODs for this reason. Oh Well!!

Nice Upgrade from iPod Touch 4th Gen

This was a replacement for my 4 year old iPod Touch 4th gen, whose battery was down to about 40% capacity. The display is excellent, a nice improvement in viewing angle over the old Touch and the 20% larger screen is nice. I found the changes from iOS 6 to iOS 8 were mostly improvements. The iOS 8 screens have less "eye candy" than the iOS 6 screens, similar to the way Windows 8 dropped Windows 7's "Aero" displays. IMHO this is good for a portable device as it should need less graphics horsepower = longer battery life. I like the changes to the Calendar app, it is much easier to jump years at a time, which I sometimes want to do and scrolling a month at a time is tedious. My one complaint is the same complaint I have for the older Touch -- the non-user-replaceable battery. That seems to be the way of the future from many vendors... :-(

I have used iPod touch 4th generation 32GB. I liked listening to music, so a capacity is not enough, but 64GB is enough to put lots of music files. A shape is slim, so it's very lightweight and a capacity is enough to store the data.

I've used two previous Ipods and this one blows their doors off. It combines the need for a camera, schedule keeper, music, videos, and communications devices into one simple to use piece of equipment. It brightens my jobs and entertainment.

With any IPod, you're going to get a lot of preloaded apps, but it's getting a little ridiculous. I wish I could delete the programs I don't need to free up some space. But, honestly, it doesn't matter with this one because it's 64GB. Currently, on this IPod, I have 12 full length movies (Avengers, Star Trek, Harry Potter, etc), 1,259 songs with album artwork and information, 39 photos, and about 2 GBs of "other" and it still has 10.36 GB free. On durability, I'm not too certain because I put it in a Griffin Survivor case. But I haven't had any problems with it working. I use a USB cord to connect it to my 2012 Chevy, and the headphone cord to connect it to my 2000 Ford and it always syncs up nicely. (I've recommended the auxiliary cable for those with older cars that don't have the USB port)

Bought this to replace an older ipod touch that wouldn't run the latest apps. It has twice as much memory as the old one so I have plenty of room, bigger and nicer screen than the old one and now I have a camera.

I previously owned a 32gig 4th generation iPod. This was purchased to update my device to the latest OS and also have more memory. The display is crystal clear and the processor is faster. I use an Android for my phone, but I find the itunes to work best for me with my music library. I was waiting for the 6th generation iPod to come out, but who knows when that will come out, and whether it will be worth the wait. This is definitely an upgrade from my 4th generation device.

Photo quality much better than previous model, 64GB great for a big music library especially if you travel and don't have access to wifi and iTunes match all the time. Love the display size, AirDrop and camera timer! The downside: some pre-installed apps (I don't use FaceTime, Game Center, messages etc.) can not be deleted and use up memory you pay for. I still don't like the new icon for iBooks but it can't be changed. BestBuy downside: asked sales rep. about Whatsapp, was given information it works on iPod 5 - it doesn't! If you buy open box item online: beware! Mine was supposed to be Geek squad certified & in excellent condition. The reality: it had dark smudges (like handled with dirty hands) and some (small) scratches on the back. No big deal but a little bit disappointing. Also (iCloud and computer) back-up stopped working after a few weeks. Went to get it fixed, could not get it done on the first appointment. Basically had to reset the iPod.
