I wanted to turn my 2016 MacBook Pro into a desktop and this was the perfect option for an external keyboard. I wanted a built in numeric keypad but I didn't need it to be wireless, although that would have made it a little slicker, but I'm fine with not having o change batteries. One cable doesn't make clutter. The two USB ports on either side are a great addition too!

    Replacement Apple Keyboard

My Apple desk top Mac came with a keyboard that did not fit my needs. I do a lot of work on excel spreadsheets and I needed a keyboard with a separate number pad section for ease of use. The new keyboard is fully compatible and has the Apple product quality that is expected. I would recommend this keyboard if you do a lot of work with numbers on your computer.

The keyboard that came with my Mac computer operated through the BlueTooth System. The Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad operates through the USB port. It has several advantages over the wireless keyboard: (1) when I start typing, I do not have to wait for the BlueTooth to connect; (2) this keyboard has a numeric keypad; (3) there are more key commands.

I really like the Apple keyboard. I wanted one one that has a number pad, because I do a lot of spreadsheets. I originally was looking at Apple's wireless keyboard, but it does not have separate number pad. I also like this keyboard's TWO USB ports - with my new MacBook (only has 1 USB-C), I need as many additional ports as I can get!

I originally had the wireless keyboard, but it broke down (kept sending '\' character when no keys were pressed). I decided to switch to the wired keyboard because it offers a numeric keypad, larger arrow keys, along with dedicated home, end, page up, page down keys. Another advantage is that there are no batteries, so I don't have to keep changing them when they die. The disadvantage is portability, but how often are you more than 2 feet away from your computer? In my case, it's wasn't very often, so this keypad is the preferred model.

At the cost of 1 usb port, you get a [beautiful] apple keyboard that itself supports two USB connections (on the underside). Compared to the wireless keyboard, this one is more akin to PC keyboards' general size, just much lighter and cleaner feeling. Unless you HAVE to have a wireless keyboard, this is the best.

I was finally tired of "compatible" keyboards that did not quite work, especially for all the Apple Mac shortcuts, so for the price, the Apple keyboard gets me all that. I have it hooked up to a MacBook Pro when I use the external monitor. They keyboard feel is good, though not as good as the old-time full stroke keyboards and having the numeric keypad is a major plus, too bad they do not have the numeric keypad on their bluetooth model. The price was reasonable and the keyboard feels sturdy.

In the past I hand the wireless key board, which is nice, but after constantly replacing the batteries, I find it a real pleasure to have a key board that is wired. In addition I love the numeric pad on the right hand side. I only wish I had made this change sooner, as I now am much more productive.

Very slender but good feel to the keys. I like the number keypad. I think the keyboard that comes with the iMac should have one. Only issue is that it connects by a cord. But then you don't have to charge it or change batteries.

Pros: Full and spacious keyboard, including numeric keypad. Elegant aluminum design. Gives you 2 USB ports, one on each side the keyboard, so you are plus 1 for USB ports by using this keyboard! Soft touch keys and good typing angle. Never need to worry about batteries or bluetooth connectivity as it's a wired keyboard! Cons: Desktop footprint is naturally a little bigger than the wireless variant that came with my iMac. I wish Apple would have incorporated backlighting for this keyboard (not so much a con, just a wish really). Love this keyboard! No issues with it. I now use the wireless aluminum keyboard that came with my iMac for my Apple TV. : )

Bought this to replace our original apple keyboard since someone spilled something on it and half the keys would stick and my kids also decided to put sharpie all over it. Love the new keyboard since it has usb ports to charge devices and also a number keypad which our old one didn't.

The keyboard that came with my Mac had issues with the batteries in it and soldered the end of it shut so it was impossible to put new batteries in. I really had no use for a wireless keyboard anyway so I bought this and it's better because you have the numeric keyboard

Classic keyboard. perfect fit for apple. This is the recommended keyboard for apple users. It is easy to set up, hook up and use. Only comment is that it is too rectangular so your hands hurt after a while from typing.

This keyboard works great, looks great, and is easy to install. The only question I have is why hasn't Apple designed a wireless version? On the up side, you do get two additional USB ports (one on each side of the keyboard) that are easy to access.

I own both the Bluetooth Apple keyboard and this USB keyboard. There is little to point out that I do not like about the keyboard. It is functional, full Apple key functions and comes with a USB extension in case the 3 foot cord s too short.

I tried to use a regular PC keyboard when I got my Mac Mini. No way... so I got this device. It's the right fit. I chose the wired (USB) keyboard because it has a 10 key pad included. The only keyboard to use with a Mac is a Mac keyboard.

I bought this keyboard bc of the # pad. Love the size and convenience of it. I don't care for the keyboards that come with the iMac bc they're too small and not stable enough to me. This one is perfect for office or home use

I have owned Apple products, mostly computers and laptops, for quite a few years (they last and last). Unfortunately, recently, I decided to clean my Apple wireless keyboard (which I love the best) with a wet wipe. Don't ever do this....it was too wet and got down into the keys and the keyboard didn't work. My computer went to sleep and I could not sign on to the computer to recognize the new wireless keyboard I bought, so I had to purchase the corded one. I could have returned this keyboard but decided to keep it as a "back up" . It is a very nice keyboard, I like the feel and touch, but I still prefer the smaller compact Apple cordless one as my favorite. But for those having to work with numbers a lot, I think you would prefer this one.
