This cable does not stand up to regular daily use. I use this to run a portable DAC through a USB connection. I’ve purchased three of these adaptors mid-way through the year. The wiring in the cable is thin But, there is no choice if you have an Apple product. When are they switching to USB-C? Just be aware that this product is not made for regular use, and best left in as stable a position as pissinle.

I can't say I blame the product itself or Best Buy, but this does not work to connect a Zeti mic to an ipad. Zeti's site said it is now compatible, but didn't work for us.

It has all the right parts to set the Yeti microphone up to the iPad, but it didn’t work? If anyone knows what we did wrong, please let us know! Thank you!

They will only work if you have a device that doesn’t need power to transfer. You are better off at looking at the adapter that includes the lightning cable jack.

I was looking for a 30-pin to lightning adapter but unfortunately picked up the lightning to USB camera adapter instead. I had no problems when I returned it and purchased the adapter that I wanted.

A sufficient cable, but highly overpriced. The norm for apple accessories.

I purchased this to be able to plug flash drives or hard drives into my iPad and iPhone, which I have done research online and it said that this would work. It does not work, everything I plugged into it no matter what the size or the age said there was not enough power to it. So even with the information online I would not recommend this if that’s what you’re buying for.

    Not suitable for iPhones

I can't speak for iPad devices, but not suitable for iPhones. There was an error message that said "This operation cannot be completed". If I wanted to transfer pictures from IPhone to USB, I needed the "Apple Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter - 3.8in" ( I bought it at Target). This is because your device needs to be charging while it is transferring files. I'm giving it two stars because it might work for iPad devices.

I only purchased this to transfer files from a flash drive and it would not work. Error messages said it required too much power. Might work great for other devices though.

When I plug this into my iPhone or iPad I get a error message that says it draws too much power and won't work without external power. I googled the problem, and they say to use a hub or external power. This of course makes it messy and clumsy. But I tried that anyway. The error message went away, but I could not use it because the files I was trying to view on the usb drive were not viewable

I purchased this after the Best Buy staff person recommended to me to us to transfer pictures and documents to my iPad using a flash drive. It does not work when I plug it in a message saying that it takes more power than is available on my full charge iPad. A product that cannot be used is of no value.

I bought this cable to attach an Audioquest portable DAC to my phone. Occasionally I get clicks and pops in the sound. Apple now recommends you use their new USB 3 cable.

Works great when connecting cameras directly via their USB cable. But it would not work with any of the card readers I have. My iPad 3 would complain there's not enough power.

Before I went to Nicaragua, I wanted a way to back up photos and videos on my iPhone. I asked the store clerk what would be the best alternative. He recommended this device and just use a USB flash drive to save them too. So I bought it and found out that I could add things from my flash drive to my camera roll but not back up photos on my iPhone to my USB drive. So this was worthless for my needs.
