Form factor is incredibly sleek and light! Gorgeous rose gold color! Great display! OSX is incredibly easy and touch pad is very responsive and easy to learn gestures and use! Even though the keys are short throw due to the super slim casing its very responsive as well and the individual backlit keys are very easy to see! May not be fast enough for high end 3D gaming, media encoding, big audio recording projects or CAD. But for everything else I can't imagine a better portable laptop. Maybe a bit pricey.

I’m a big fan of Apple products and this is my second MacBook. I absolutely love it! I wouldn’t buy a computer unless it was made by Apple. I highly recommend for college students since it’s so small and lightweight.

I purchased the 256gb version of Macbook. I must say it is really light in weight that sometimes I forget if it's even in my bag. This laptop is great for some light internet browsing, youtube videos, typing documents, and etc. It starts to lag a little when too many applications are all working at the same time. If you tend to open a lot of apps all at the same time, then I would recommend going for the 512gb version. As for this one, I would recommend it for college use as it easily packs into any bag, very portable!

This machine is a great replacement for my aging MacBook Air. The footprint is smaller, the 12" retina screen is very sharp and colorful. The new keyboard works really well once you get use to the shallow key travel. The biggest drawback of this machine is that it only have one USB-C port. If you are a type of person who connects a lot of devices to your computer, you would need to get use to a "dongle life". While I often don't need to connect external devices, I found myself in a situation where I need to quickly connect a flash drive to the machine but was not able to because I forgot to bring along a USB-C to USB adapter. Additionally, because it is not a Thunderbolt 3 port like the new MacBook Pro, it won't be able to drive multiple high-resolution screens (like the LG Ultrafine 5K display).

This laptop is super small and light. Although the CPU is not very good, the computing speed is good enough for writing code purpose. I got a really good deal from bestbuy. I only spend a little more than $700.

This MacBook is perfect for the college student, it is simple and efficient. However, for technical and advanced fields such a computer engineering or graphic/music design it may not be for you. As a political science student, I can take my MacBook everywhere. It's light and doesn't take much space in my bag. Perfect for in class lectures and research, convenient for cafe work and browsing the web at home. When I need to do a big thesis or paper I connect it to my monitor. You can get a monitor such as the 27" Acer gold monitor with an attached USB-C port that can charge at the same time your MacBook. The set up will look amazing and you can get a desktop for the big projects. In overall, if you like sophistication and glam as well as power and efficiency, definitely get this MacBook.

Best lightweight laptop on the market. Only drawback is having to use expensive dongles to connect to anything. Needed peripherals end up being heavier and take up more space than the laptop itself !!!

Lightweight, easy to use, and good color. Major downside is not having multiple USB ports (why apple ?!) I would give it 5 stars for sure if it wasn't missing the USB ports.

The MacBook is incredibly thin and light, even more so than the MacBook Air. The monitor is really good and this is where it really differentiates itself from the MBA. The keyboard is a new type of mechanism and for those not familiar with it, it works very well.

I'm very satisfied with this MacBook it's small lightweight and for what it use it for it's perfect. The lack of ports is kinda a turnoff and I wasn't crazy about usb c charging but I haven't needed to use any usb c adapters for anything yet. Using air drop from my other Mac lets me work around the missing ports, the battery life is excellent again for what I use it for. And I don't play games or do any intensive tasks with it. Now the only negative I have is that I should of waited a bit longer before I purchased it because there are new MacBooks coming very soon. Who knows with Apple these days when updates are coming...and and..the Microsoft Surface Laptop. Thats what I should of waited for.

Light, easy to use, plenty of battery life for my use, which is light work, some internet. Display is great.
