I was a Mac user back in college and have been using HP for the last few years. I am excited to be back with Mac. This computer offers the style and lightweight design I was looking for. It also provides fast boot- up speed and I have no issues running several programs at once. I added the Alien decal to complete the look. I will never go back to one of those 2 in 1 laptops again. They make tablets and laptops for a reason. There is no need for a touchscreen on this guy the track pad works great. The battery life was important to me and I could n ot be happier with how long it lasts. Will continue to learn new ways to use this laptop everyday.

I bought my macbook air for graduate school after my PC laptop stopped working. Having used a PC all my life, I was nervous about the switch. However, after a few months of use, I couldn't be happier! The laptop has been outstanding for typical school uses with a strong battery life. I love the stylish sleek design and lightweight portability that allows me to easily take the laptop on the go! It was definitely worth the switch.

After lugging my nearly 10 pound Alienware to class everyday for over a semester, I finally decided that it was time to get a smaller computer. My requirements were simple. I wanted something small (around 12-13 inches) with great battery life, and be light weight. All three of those were things that Apple has been excelling at for years. It came down to a MacBook (1.1GHz 8GB/256GB) and the 13" MacBook Air (1.6GHz 4GB/128GB). Ultimately I went with the Air because of the lack of ports on the MacBook. I mean come on, only Apple can get away with only one port! As well as the increased processing power and the battery life.
I highly recommend this computer to anyone that needs a fast, reliable computer with little processing needs (light coding if any) and fairly regular multitasking. GREAT FOR STUDENTS

I purchased this laptop as a certified-excellent open box condition in late September 2015. A few days after owning, I upgraded to El Capitan, process was easy. Since this is only a 128 GB SSD, if you install El Capitan as a new install versus upgrade from Yosemite you shave off about 3 Gb of space. Resolution is not as high as some, but the screen is great. 1440 x 900 is good for a 13" inch screen. It has very vivid colors, but the ultimate gain with the MacBook Air is battery life. A solid 10+ hours over a weeks time, and even 13+ over the course of heavier use over a couple days. Impressed with how well it sustains a charge over days. A huge benefit to the 13" model is the SD card slot. I am very pleased with OSXs abilities to not unmount, or lose a mounted SD card, Which has been my typical Windows experience in the past. One thing is I recommend getting a MacBook Air / Pro SD Card adapter such that the micro SD can fit flush to the machine. Otherwise a regular SD will stick out a quarter of an inch. I am not missing not having force touch, which is a new feature on the Macbook. So far this laptop has performed better than expected. It stays cool, even with a case on. The vents face back towards the monitor, which is great for users who utilize the machine in bed. Attention to detail was obviously placed on construction, from the aluminum chassis to ease of touchpad. I technically give this a 4.8 out of 5, since Apple does charge a premium for Hard Drive space, but the Flush mounted Micro SD card serves its purpose.

This MacBook Air is fast, powerful, light and beautiful. After a few years of frustration with Windows operating systems I am so happy to return to the sleek and intuitive Mac OS.

One of the best laptops I have ever used before. This Macbook Air has phenomenal battery life, is lightning fast, and light as a feather. I have yet to encounter anything I dislike about this laptop (the keys are even not too shallow, which is impressive considering how thin this device is). Moving from Windows I was worried I would dislike Mac OS X, but I personally have found it a breeze to use, and I would miss it if I ever went back to Windows (and yes, I have used the new Windows 10).

This is the best computer. It is my first Mac. I was concerned about programs operating properly but it has worked great. I just started back to school after 12 years. I was able to download Word 2016 for Mac. Safari works with my schools blackboard. I love it. I have an iPhone and everything synced right up. My favorite is that I can have word open in one window and Safari in another and can drag words right over and drop in for my homework. If you highlight a word it gives you the definition and even speaks it for you. Starts right up, doesn't get hot and no noise. I'm hooked. So much better than my HP.

I had an old 2010 MacBook and decided it was time to upgrade. Didn't have any problems transferring files and programs over to the new one. It started up and I entered all my info. Never had a problem with any Apple products I ever owned. I use an iPhone, iPad and now a new MacBook. It all syncs together. The MacBook is half the weight of my old one and battery life blew me away more than 8 hrs depending on what you are doing. I had 13 hours already!!! There is no Disc drive but everything is downloadable. Only drawback I see is you can't upgrade the RAM on the MacBook Air. Other than that I am loving it!!!!!

The Macbook Air is a sleek and lightweight laptop. It feels good in your hands and the screen is bright and vibrant. The keyboard feels good and the back lit keys help in darker places. Battery life is excellent for such a thin and light laptop, lasting all day without worrying about finding a place to plug in, or waiting your turn at the airport charging station. It feels snappy too, very responsive. No trouble hitting wifi hotspots or loading video. I can't find anything about it that I don't like. Very glad I bought it. Mainly used for video review, word processing/page layout and light gaming.

An easy to use, excellent design, compact laptop.Great for school use, you won't find anything better. I originally had a windows 10, toshiba, laptop. The dam program gave me so many errors, first I couldn't connect to the wifi at school, then bugs, crashes, and all of the sort happened. Mind you, yes you can fix it but think of the time needed to fix an imperfect program. Ever since i switched to apple, I have rarely encountered any problems. Browsing, watching videos, reading manga, doing work. All these functions are easily and easily accessible. Plus the touch pad is really convenient, there's a lot of quick functions.

It's a great product...so far very impressed. It's my first apple laptop after over 15 Windows laptops.
Pros
Extremely light
Sleek
Screen is high def
Mousepad is very very soft to touch and use
OS is pretty cool
Battery goes over 10 hours....awesome!
Cons
1. Looks and feels fragile. I ordered a cover and screen protector right away
2. If you are hooked onto Windows, it will take a while to adapt. You can make it a dual-boot system and install Windows 10 for $120, but the whole point of greeting a Mac is to use the Mac features, so this option might not be worth it.

You won't find a better value Apple laptop than the Macbook Air. Lighter and thinner profile than Macbook Pro, more horsepower than a Macbook. Plus, this is cheaper than the respective models, while having a decent amount of ports (i.e. USB, thunder, and SD card). If you need a better screen and more horsepower to do video/photo editing, get a Macbook Pro. If you need an ultra portable laptop, get a Macbook. Definitely recommend the 13" Macbook Air over the 11". You get a lot more features for an extra $100. Only benefit to 11" is the size if you need ultra portability.

I have always been a PC person, but got tired of my laptops getting viruses and slowing down after a year. This is my first MacBook and I love it. The battery lasts 12 plus hours. I charge it once every two weeks or so. It is so light and thin and doesn't get hot if sitting on your lap like my other laptops did. It is so quick to start up after closing it. You open it and within a second or two its up and running every time! I took the MacBook classes offered at BestBuy and they taught me the basics to start using it. I wish I would have bought this years ago.

If you like Apple products and are used to the interface system this is a great product.
Great battery life, light weight, slim, easy to use.... just took me a bit of getting used to as I'm not "Apple-Savvy".
Be advised there is no "Tin-Key" and no "Touch-Screen". Other than that I have nothing negative to say.

I've been a Mac user for a few years now and purchased the MacAir because of it's portability. I was confident it had sufficient processor power from my needs, but the limited RAM (4GB) and small hard drive (128 GB) left me with some reservation. The $200-off Black Friday deal was too good to pass-up. I have been pleasantly surprised. I don't do any high-end computing and the computer works great for my needs. Using an external drive for my pictures and my extensive music collection has worked well to keep the hard drive from getting too full.

I never thought a Mac would be worth the money for me since I only use my laptop for movies and web browsing, but after having my hp for only four months and having it crash on me, I knew I needed to spend a little more money on a laptop, and even then I was very skeptical that the MacBook hype was worth it. However after getting accepted for the bestbuy credit card with a surprisingly high limit, I bit the bullet and decided to get it. I decided to get the air cause it was small and light, I debated between the new MacBook and the MacBook Air but I didnt want to separately purchase adapters for the usb c port on the new MacBook so I chose the air. I've had it for almost two months now and it's truly amazing, I didn't think a laptop could be so quiet! On my hp the fan was so loud I hated it, and on top of that it would get so hot after an hour tops. The battery life on the MacBook is amazing too, I watch Netflix or stream Spotify for hours on end and I don't have to charge it until I'm ready to head to bed. So all in all I'm very happy with my purchase.

My daughter uses this Macbook Air everyday for High School. It's light weight and travels easily in and out of her school backpack. Plenty of speed, power and battery life for everyday computing. Maybe not enough if doing heavy video or movie editing. Would have liked more storage. Bought an external Seagate USB 3.0 drive. Told my daughter to keep her files well organized and learn to archive old content. Received Best Buy $100 student discount because she has a dual enrollment class at local college. Great laptop for a busy student.

I owned a 2012 MacBook Pro before this and loved it! I was torn between the Air and the Pro but in the end decided on the Air. The price was the deciding factor it was on sale and for what I required it had all that I needed and more! I adore the Air and I have never had any trouble with Apple products and neither have my 2 college age kids! You cannot go wrong with this computer it is fast, lightweight and worth the price! I sold my 2012 MacBook Pro for only a few hundred less than I paid for it now that is incredible!
