Upgraded my mid-2011 MacAir for this one. First, it was on sale for $200 off. Second, it’s much faster, better graphics, more memory and more powerful for less money than original. Love the MacAir

I have been on the fence about which laptop to get for some time as I've been trying to replace a 2010 15" MacBook Pro. I loved the size of the 12" MacBook, but the too small screen, and worrisome keyboards made me think twice. The MacBook Pro was also a consideration, but It had the same keyboard issues and it's price quickly rises as you add additional specs. I wanted something that was portable and also had user friendly features so that I could take it with me everywhere. The MacBook Air fit the bill. I opted for spec'd out version and got it on a $300 off sale so It was considerably cheaper than either of the other two options I was considering. I know it's a little bit older model that hasn't been updated in a while, but it's specs are far superior to my old pro and it is much more portable. I had hoped that an updated Air was going to be released at the WWDC in June, but I guess that won't be coming until the fall. My purchase being made, I have a computer that meets all my needs, and I didn't break the bank. I love the old style keyboard and its so lightweight that I take it on all my travels. The ports also make it a winner in my opinion. Who wants to spend money on additional dongles you have to take with you?! If you're on the fence just go for it!

This is my first Mac computer. I was skeptical on how easy it would be to adjust from a PC to a Mac. So far, so good! I wanted something light weight and that had good battery life.

Outperformed my expectations. Unboxed, plugged in, powered up and it was ready to go. Looks great, very light and easy to carry around. Runs all my programs. Absolutely no problems .

Although the Air does not have all the “upgrades” of the Pro, I chose it because it still has USB ports for my current peripherals. I need to use what I have rather than be forced to update everything I use simply because Apple chose to change the ports. That said, the Air is still a fast machine with everything I want and need.

Very pleased with this laptop. Screen quality is fine and performance is great. Sure retina would be nice but not needed for my purposes. Built in display port nice when at home to plug in to HD monitor as the graphics card supports 3840x2160.

I bought a MB Air back in 2012 to replace my then fried MacBook Pro. I loved it - light weight, portable and perfect for bringing to school. Fast forward 5 years and I was ready for an upgrade. I bought a new, top of the line, fully upgraded a MacBook Pro. And I hated it. The keyboard was awful. A year later, I went back to the Air. I don’t mind that the design hadn’t changed in years. I bought this Air at this time because I knew Apple was launching a fully redesigned computer and I needed the old school keyboard. This machine is perfect for school, writing, surfing the web. It’s not going to cut it for hard core tasks like graphic design or RAM intense games. But it’s just right for me.

At the time of this writing this product is end of life, so you may not be able to find it brand new. Although if you’re reading this review based on a decision to purchase this model either refurbished or second hand, then this review may be useful. This MacBook has always been a great purchase for me. I bought it to get me through the rest of my Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity. Did the job and a little bit more. I also game on this using Steam. It’s just enough to play most games but really intense, resource hungry games you may want to avoid or just buy a new MacBook Pro. This particular configuration of the i7 and the storage will allow this MacBook to age quite a bit longer than the base model, which is what I was anticipating. Also got the AppleCare+, no brainer. As far as I know, it doesn’t look like Apple has a repair/recall program out for this model. No trips to the Genius Bar! Totally recommend

I purchased this laptop instead of the new MacBook Pro's for these reasons, and I haven't regretted it! 1) This MacBook Air can do everything the MacBook Pro for MUCH less money. Video editing, podcasting, music composing, DONE! It does take longer to render animations, but you can save a bunch of money with a little patience. 2) This MacBook Air's keyboard is superior to the new MacBook Pro. The recessed keyboard on the new Pro's was a mistake. 3) If you carry your laptop with you every day, this Air is a delight to carry compared to the Pro's. The Pro has a better looking screen, but I don't use my MacBook Air for entertainment. I use it for work, so I prefer to save the $$$ (being self-employed), and save the weight.

I had to upgrade from my old Mac Book Air because it was already showing me signs of impending problems...I had to choose from Mac Book Pro or still go with the Air...I'm glad I went with this product, not only was it great, having the features I needed, but also I got it at a sale price from Best Buy. A "win-win" for me...

This laptop is a dream to have. The specs are incredible, 8gb Ram, 512GB hard drive and with an I-7 processor. I got this on sale for $1299 and do not regret it. Apple laptops will stand the test of time and never fail on you. I hope to get about 7+ years out of this laptop.

A few days after Christmas, I spilled a glass of water on my 4-year-old Macbook Air. Once it was established that my clumsiness had, alas, proven fatal for the computer, I immediately went to Best Buy to purchase a new Macbook Air, never considering another brand or model despite the well-meaning suggestions of others that I could get much more for my money. I was pleased to find that Best Buy still had available some of the older Macbook Air models with the USB ports that would accommodate my flash drives and other accessories, meaning I wouldn't have to purchase expensive adapters for USB 3 type C ports. AND, the older model was on sale. My purchasing experience at Best Buy was a pleasure. Other then the (yeah, still considerable) hit to my bank account, and the fact that I now keep all beverages several feet away from my computer, it's as if my mishap never happened.

MAC takes some getting use to after hassling with Windows for years. I am pleased to be able to spend less time on a computer task than with Acer. I am still learning to use this new computer.
