Pros Beautiful display that can easily match up to my old Alienware with its color accuracy and brightness range. Exceptional build quality - it feels like a premium product in basically every way. The 13.6" screen size is perfect for my use case. Anything more feels like overkill now. Only 2.7 pounds in weight, which is fantastic for portability. Keyboard is the best I've ever typed on by miles. Even mechanical gaming keyboards don't feel nearly as good to me, and it really does seem as if my typing speed and accuracy are vastly improved with the Magic Keyboard on this device. Exceptional raw performance for productivity purposes - webpages and basic applications open and run without problems. Unified memory architecture means that even the 8GB of memory my model has is normally enough for nearly everything I throw at it. (Context: Unified memory lets the device switch over to the SSD storage for memory allocation purposes after the RAM fills up). The Starlight color I got is gorgeous and almost certainly better for daily use than the fingerprint-prone Midnight. Unmatchable battery life thanks to how energy-efficient the M2 chip is. I could very easily get 12+ hours of web browsing use out of this thing if I tried. Cons Running games on this thing is a massive hassle, but to expect anything else from a MacOS device is asking too much. Lack of support for a few Windows applications, but those are mostly games to begin with, so it leads into my previous point. All the productivity applications I personally need are supported on MacOS, so it's not a big deal. Trackpad normally feels great, but there are some weird occasional bugs with responsiveness. Despite Apple touting the iOS support of the M-series chips as a major feature, it's very limited as it stands. Only a few iOS games are natively supported, and the rest need to be emulated via PlayCover. It gets somewhat hotter than expected, but that's usually when performing tasks that the device isn't designed to do, and the excess heat doesn't affect battery life nearly as much as I expected. Not having a fan is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, no obscene amounts of noise when doing literally anything; on the other, it lets the device thermal throttle as much as it wants whenever it gets hot. But I'd say the fan-less design is more good than bad. Installing the latest OS Ventura was far buggier than I expected and overall one of the buggiest experiences I've had on any computing device. It had to be restarted repeatedly thanks to the sheer amount of issues I encountered. It's worked mostly fine thereafter, though. IDK what else - the webcam notch being there is technically a downside? I barely notice it, though. In conclusion, this MacBook is without a doubt the highest quality computer I've ever owned, and I'd see it lasting me a very long time were it not for the fact that my model only has 8GB of RAM. But it's my own fault that I ordered this version rather than the 16GB one, and besides, the 8GB isn't normally an issue except when doing things the device isn't designed to handle, like playing a game and running Discord simultaneously, for instance.

I am a Windows user due to my future career and the software that I run. I use an Android device for a smartphone. However, as a previous iPhone user, I miss having the features of FaceTime and iMessage because so many people that I do know own iPhones. I purchased this particular model so I have room for more music and documents to go on the hard disk. I previously had a MacBook Air with the M1 processor and prior to that I had a MacBook Pro with the touchbar and the Core i5. This has to be my favorite of the three. I bought it because as I mentioned those exclusive Apple features are great, however, I cannot afford to add a second smartphone (iPhone) to my account. This is also a better choice for me because I now have a computer that I can use exclusively for documents. I enjoy the speed of the processor, the speed of the Wi-Fi, the keyboard is comfortable and it is light and easy to transport. The battery life is excellent. The screen is very crisp. I love the mag safe charger because I was constantly having scares when either myself or someone else would bump the thunderbolt cable on my previous MacBooks and they would almost get knocked off whatever surface they were sitting on. Given my setup I purchased an external keyboard and mouse to use with it. I have the MacBook on a shelf on my desk and I like to keep my neck straight while I work on it. There are some drawbacks of all Apple Products that every Windows user has a problem with. Not all software is available with macOS. If you are an Android user, your cell phone is 100% not compatible with the system. Their systems are quite pricy even for older models. None of the MacBooks come with a numeric keypad on the right side. There are also very few ports on the system which requires me to buy an adapter to connect some of my other devices. However, this is a great system for basic tasks that I do. I own an ASUS gaming laptop that does most of my heavy lifting. However, it is nice to have a smaller, lighter system that gives me the Apple Exclusive features that I enjoyed and also has excellent battery life.

Love the black, which actually seems like more a midnight blue, color. Great laptop. Fast processor. I upgraded to 512gb. I was a little concerned because everyone was talking about the fingerprints on the device but, its not as obvious as they say. Coming from a mac pro, this is a much lighter device. I Also purchased an open box which helped me save some money.

It’s lightweight and powerful, sleek and fun! I use this as my primary at-home machine. I do a bit of software development, a bit of photo editing, some video / audio work, and a LOT of browsing. The 8GB should be fine for most people. Even when I am maxed out with 10 apps and 20 tabs, I can tell it’s slower, but it hasn’t stopped me in my tracks. It keeps up pretty well. I love how small and portable the 13” is, but BestBuy offers upgraded RAM and hard drive space on the 15”. If you feel like you need the extra RAM / space, it would be a worthy upgrade. It’s also fantastic for playing PS5 games remotely. Since it’s streaming, the battery life lasts forever! All-in-all, one of the best machines I’ve owned!

I liked my first Mac Air so much, I bought a new one. It has a beautiful clear picture and it works very fast. I use it for a multiple of uses including writing, editing, and bookkeeping. Microsoft Office 365 programs work well on it. Mine is a 13" and is just the right size for me to travel with and it is very light-weight. It works well with my Ipad when I want two screens. Also is great partnered with my Iphone. I've gone all in on Apple products, now. I think the silver is elegant looking. My first one was rose-gold and I liked that too. Some people think an 8GB RAM is not enough but I haven't had a problem with it. Of course, I'm not a gamer. I like that is has almost 500 GB of storage. Honestly, I can't of anything bad to say about it. It's a great computer.

I am 76 years old. My old MacBook Pro was dying. I could only afford a new 13-inch model, sigh, and this was an emergency. My old computer is generally a work computer, not a recreational one; I am a private party not a business and my household has a second 15-inch MacBook Pro for family use. I used to own a 17-inch MacBook, which was wonderful. Best Buy Geeks helped "migrate" my data to the new computer and at my request put on a system that was not unfamiliar to me (Ventura 13.3.1 a). Most of my settings and my organization of files also migrated, with the Geeks' help, but I had to orally tell Geeks my usual MacBook password because you can't migrate that and the Apple ID was also forgotten. My Chrome password collection was lost in the move. (If you "migrate" be sure to write down your passwords first.) I had some battles with Microsoft Word--the migrated copy would only allow viewing of my hundreds of files, not altering or saving them. (Had to contact Microsoft about this--have finally figured out password maze and am now recognized as the owner again.) I will have to have the same kind of time-killing interactions with my Pfaff-Viking embroidery software and the home office because it also won't recognize a sign-in any more. I despise working with tech support over the internet or the phone and I don't look forward to this. Until then, I can't even visually browse among my hundreds of these files to find a design I am looking for, let alone alter it. The new computer has a good keyboard touch. It is small and very lightweight--I won't need my bulky backpack and can buy something smaller for safe hauling. Screen is crisp and responds to changes in brightness, a help for 19th century handwritten documents. I do miss the larger screen because I am a historian and use digitized photographed newspapers, digitized photographed records, and digitized historical maps in my research, so I now have to do much more enlarging and shrinking than I formerly did. Similarly scrolling is now a bigger chore than ever. [See photo--the Sauk Rapids Frontierman for 1859 is almost unreadable for old eyes at this magnification, but enlarging loses much of the rest of the page.] I am getting used to the reorganized special function key lineup--the lighter/darker is on far left now and louder/softer on far right. Sound has two settings in preferences window--volume and left/right speakers but nothing to aid sound quality. Battery seems to be very capacious--I can go at least a couple days on a single charge, but then, I don't stream videos or play games with it either. The computer has a very different cord from the previous two-part cord--it's shorter and is made of a different kind of wire and it does not require a 3-prong outlet. I don't understand the latter--is the cord and plug still a surge suppressor as well? Gotta check into this. On my old MacBook system, Apple's Preview program refused to do searches. The new computer's Preview now does searches again--allows me to bypass Adobe Reader for .pdf files and also to annotate them. Hurrah! I have never maximized using all the special features of a Mac; I only use what is most useful to me, given that I've used Macs since the first models and my fingers know that old tactile history best. I'm sure that somebody else would have a blast with newer features which I entirely ignore. I need to learn to use the Cloud, but currently it just flummoxes me. Trackpads do not daunt me, but I don't engage their special pinch motions and such either. I sorely miss the built-in CD player that my old MacBooks had. Naturally I miss the various orifices which the older models had for plug-ins; I keep a converter pigtail in my backpack and also a CD player so I can work with other media. Weight was not a factor so much as price for me; "Air" light weight is not necessary but it is nice. Unfortunately, the computer is so small that I Iose it sometimes--even my hubby's garden hat is large enough to camouflage the computer when he plunks the hat on the table, let alone the daily mail or the family calendar. Why didn't I give the computer a 5-star rating? Because I was forced to buy it, not because I wanted it; I want the bigger screen at a 13-inch price. My budget was $2000 and this cost quite a bit less but the larger screen would have cost quite a bit more. I am still hoping that Apple Geniuses can revive my old computer (Best Buy Geeks cannot install new hard drives); perhaps I will be re-migrating my data back to that model if repaired. Should that occur, the 13-inch MacBook Air will belong to my sewing machine and my historical research will return to the old 15-inch MacBook. Yes, I am an antediluvian.

Very sleek and streamlined design, as you would expect from a modern Apple product. If you’re not doing anything too crazy the air is a perfect extra portable option. That being said this machine still amazes me with its processing power, and all it’s capable of. I went with the midnight color and I adore it. It is definitely a fingerprint magnet but it’s not a big deal for myself. Would recommend.

Big upgrade for my partner from their 2015 Macbook Pro. Very noticeable performance jump on apps optimized for Apples M1/2 chips. This MacBook will likely last them just as long as their last with Apple providing consistent updates. Very light and thin, with sleek design, but threw a fishskyn wrap on it for protection and personalization. Return of the magsafe charger is a big win, as well as finally improving the front facing camera in the age of zoom meetings. The only complaint is the storage, its so cheap these days that 256gb was unacceptable in 2021 on the m1 air, its more unacceptable in 2022 with the m2 air AND they put in a slower drive this year than last years unless you get the 512gb model. Its just a bad for customers policy to force you to buy the more expensive models or cloud storage, and for the price they charge for an extra 256gb, you can buy a significantly faster 1Tb NVME drive w/ plenty of change for lunch. That said, we bought an open boxed 512gb on sale for less than a new 256gb and it was in perfect condition with all accessories. Would recommend that route to everyone.

I've been using windows since forever and while the move was a bit puzzling in the beginning, I feel quite comfortably with it now. Good performance, shocking battery life, light weight, good display.. list goes on. Great package overall.
