About a month ago I purchased the 2018 model of this same MacBook. Without knowing, Apple just decided to drop the 2019 version in May. I decided to return the 2018 version as it was getting extremely hot doing just basic computer functions like safari, mail calendars or viewing photos in the photos app. I tried to render video in after effects or premier and the computer would get extremely hot on the bottom and also the Touch Bar. Now, this 2019 version gets a little warm but I have pushed this thing further than my last Mac and it doesn’t get nearly as how. I will also address the keyboard issue. This keyboard feels a lot more stable and it is also quieter. Overall great computer. Highly recommend going with the Touch Bar. It sounds like a gimmick at first, and it is. But once you get used to the Touch Bar, you’ll find productivity to be a lot easier and faster.

I’m a long term Mac user and most recently had a MacBook Air. We also have an iMac for a desktop which is fairly recent. Decided to take the plunge on the MacBook Pro since it had good reviews. First of all it’s much thinner than I expected which is a plus in my book. Build quality is great and I got it in the space gray and it’s a good look. The speed is blistering fast on this machine. Faster than my iMac and faster than any laptop I’ve used before. The touch at, which I thought was a gimmick, is actually very useful. Not quite yet sold on only USB-C ports, but not limiting me at this point. The touch pad seems a tad less responsive than on previous Macs I’ve had, but I’m getting used to it. My ink real gripe so far is the opening-the-screen-to-start-it-up feature. As soon as you open it, the machine boots up. I want a button. It’s like auto start/stop on a car - hate it. Great machine, great customer service at my Best Buy.

Probably used the wrong work in the title as Apple calls it a MacBook...but the other two words are true. It is GREAT...small, yet big enough to have a readable screen with "senior" eyes; COMPACT and lightweight, yet more powerful and faster than my old other brand desktop. Great device!

The last Macbook Pro that I purchased ended up lasting for 10 years (with only a change to an SSD and an upgrade of memory, so not too shabby), but it eventually got to the point that the OS version I was running couldn't keep up with the requirements of the programs, so it was time to upgrade. I was blown away by how much thinner and more compact this Macbook Pro was, and it loads up quickly without any issues. I also have enjoyed the Sidecar feature that allows me to use my Ipad Pro more or less like a fancy Wacom Cintiq. I am not a huge fan of the touch bar yet - I kind of miss having that physical escape button, and I will say that typing on the keyboard is a little strange since the keys don't travel as far (who would have though that makes a difference for typing!), but I am sure I will adjust to those things as I continue to get acclimated with the computer. If this computer lasts half as long as my last MBP, I will be a very satisfied customer.

I purchased this because I have always wanted a MacBook, and to add one more device in my house for my kids to complete their schoolwork on. It is very user friendly, my 12 year old works on it without any problems. It operates quickly and charges very fast as well.

Got this as an open box for a steal. Great device! I always thought the Touch Bar was kinda gimmicky, but after using it for Final Cut and other software that utilizes it, it’s so convenient and can actually add quite a bit of functionality. I love it! I wish I would have gotten the 512GB storage model tho as that 256GB drive fills up quick. Super compact, feels great, I’m still not a huge fan of the keyboard, but you get used to it.

I had a 15inch MBP at my last job, so I knew I wanted something similar for my home business. So far, the 13 inch model has met my needs. My biggest concern is I've noticed it gets hotter than I would expect on the bottom. It makes it hard to use the laptop in your actual lap. That being said, its efficient and gets the job done. I got it on a huge sale, so I'm overall happy with it. If I would have paid full price...I'm not so sure.

For years I've been working on Windows computers for work, school and for DJing and I have to say i'm glad I spent the money on this MacBook. This computer is fast, keeps up with all updates needed and does not slow down or fail when loading applications. I had the chance to use this on my DJ services with multiple gigs and I can say that I have yet to have any issues with slowness and it can handle multiple applications without slowing down like my windows PC. Quick loading with the SSD installed and Apple offers currently installed applications for music production for free. I am very happy with this purchase and should have bought a MacBook Pro a long time ago instead of having to spend money on Windows PC's almost every year.

I am a student and just had it with my PC , it seems everytime I had a big project the stupid thing would crash or something, just started to be unreliable. So after hearing from my classmates of zero problems with their Macs, I finally had to breakdown and get one, to stress free my student life. I'd never shellout this much for a laptop, so it took a long time to convince myself to get it, especially considering it was not in my budget, so had to charge it, but glad to have the best now for school. Just a little learning curve , transitioning to a Mac from a pc , which is a minor frustration but once I get used to it I think I'm gonna love it. I wish I'd played more with a mac model before the purchase to familiarize myself with it , so I'm not wasting valuable study time learning as I go, other than that so far so good! My only complaint is I could really use a MacBook with a bigger screen , but can't afford it, so Apple needs to make these Macs more affordable and the accessories for it as well ...70 bucks for the Apple mouse...ridiculous!

I love Apple itself. That being said, I love everything Apple. The look. The ease of use. User friendly. So I keep updating every so often. My first MacBook Pro I got back in 2008, awesome machine! I miss all the outputs it came with. The second one I decided to update in 2016 also great machine, the only downfall was that it had the 2 usb lighting plugins that’s it. So I had to get an adapter for everything else. Eventually I got used to it and I didn’t mind it. Then I got this latest model with the Touch Bar and finger print add ons. It’s awesome specially if you loved your old iPhone with the fingerprint capability I’m sure I’ll upgrade when they have the face recognition... why not?

This machine is updating a 2011 model and boy am I impressed. It’s lightning fast and really thin and lightweight. The touchbar, while seemingly unnecessary is pretty cool to customize.

I bought this even after the new 2020 13” MacBook Pro came out but I needed something for my music station that had four ports and couldn’t wait for the new one to get to me. It’s actually powerful despite the limited specs and small size. It runs Logic Pro like a champ and really doesn’t overheat. This is the last version with the “butterfly” keyboard, which while the point of controversy for many, I have no issues with this one. It’s actually easy to use and allows me to type a little faster. Best part is I ordered an open box in “Good” condition and since they had an error in their inventory system, I got a new one!

Fantastic machine. Probably should have bought the 15.4, regardless still great. Wish Apple would increase the storage and ram to remain competitive but that’s how it goes.

There is an LCD board on the top with what could possibly help you in your work on the new MacBookPro. I am not a techie. But this is fast and the keyboards are soft, smooth & quick. Actually, at times, it is quicker than me and that's not so good. I fly when I type and I cannot type. I make a lot of machines. It's fun but I have to go back and edit. My fingers have a way of accidentally hitting any of the important buttons at the bottom of the board and boom, I'm in a difficult moment. It is sleek and easy to carry. It's a great machine. The problem is with me. I'll eventually get used to it.

Performance, light weight, price is good during promotional offer. But if you want to do an intense video editing I highly recommend you to purchase a 15 inch one.

Purchased for my nephew to use since he was starting college. He had requested a MacBook because some of his friends had one and after doing a little research I purchased this one for him and he absolutely loves it. It’s easy to carry in his book bag to class and is user-friendly. He uses it not only for classwork but also for listening to music or movies. He previously had a surface and was not happy with that and he has said that the MacBook is so much better than the Surface. He loves the way the computer is set up and the functionality of it and the capabilities of it.

Very nice, user friendly, light weight and very easy to set up. More expensive then the PC, but I am partial to the Mac.

My mid-2012 just died and I had to upgrade after over seven years with that computer. This computer has worked well so far and I can definitely tell just how much faster it is compared to my old one and my wife’s 2015 Air. The new butterfly keyboard is taking time to adjust to, but has been accurate and not an annoyance... just an adjustment. Also, I don’t mind the touchbar at all. If you’re a decent typist, you shouldn’t have to worry about accidentally hitting Siri like others have commented. Hoping to get several good years out of this one!

This new MAC Pro has great performance built into a small formfactor. This 13' Mac Pro is light in weight and is easy to pack and carry.

Great fast computer easy to use turns on instantly. Can have multiple programs open at the same time without slowing the system down.
