The new MacBook Pro is exquisite - sleek, lightning fast and quite improved. I love the Touch Bar, and many of the new features. One complaint is the lack of a MagSafe adapter. Bad move for Apple, but good move for venders who have seized the opportunity to provide a niche product - so all is well. Great experience!

The latest Apple MacBook Pro is a functional, beautiful piece of electronic art. At first, I considered the Touchbar to be a gimmick...almost a misstep by Apple to not offer a true touch screen but after using it for 10 minutes I realized the genius behind the design. It is a functional tool in a notebook form factor and renders useful shortcuts with the tap of the bar. Everything from spell checker to searches to app/website shortcuts. The build is rock solid and durable...Apple's craftsmanship at its best. As with any product that is well built, the price is up there but you will get many years of returns out of your investment. Just a few cons: As an IT professional, there are many times I need to connect to equipment with an Ethernet cable. The Apple MacBook Pro has zero on board so be prepare to spend about $30-$40 for a USB Type C adapter. As stated above the latest MacBook Pro only comes with USB Type C ports so you will need to keep this in mind when purchasing accessories like monitors, adapters, etc. Overall I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Amazing - best computer I've ever owned or used. I love the speed and the touchbar is great - it adapts to nearly every program I use with very handy quick shortcuts to pertinent functions that change dynamically as I work. Highly recommend

Overall it's a great machine for a pro user. I like the touch bar. It's pretty handy at times and very contextual. I remove one star just for the weight. It's heavy! I also always wanted the backlit logo which Apple has removed from the newer versions. I wish we had that as an option in a variant. Overall the machine is very good. Great performance. I made two of my friends buy the same machine :)

I work as a web developer and needed this for work. It runs heavy apps in docker right alongside having multiple heavy IDEs and numerous other apps open without skipping a beat. I find the touchbar very useful.

Overall this is a great dual purpose computer - office and mobile. It is fast. it has a few software habits that are annoying. 1) it disconnects from the internet when it goes to sleep. 2.) The default causes the trackpad to interfere with use of keyboard. This is solved by using settings under "accessibility." This is not covered in documentation. Some things I really like are the Flash Storage in place of the hard drive; much more durable and much faster access for loading apps. The rent display is much easier to read than the older display--I can read much smaller print and pictures are spectacular.

I love this computer. I plan to use it for 4k videos and pictures. I have 5 years old mac book pro and I hadn’t any problem with it. I hope will be the same with the new one. It’s light weight and very fast. Do you need a new comp? I highly recommended.

The 2017 MacBook Pro is a fantastic laptop that is packed with features. The design features a low profile, sleek structure. The resolution is phenomenal and key response is quick. The new keyboard has flatter keys and promotes different hand positioning. I’d recommend this laptop if price is not a concern. The overall price is a bit steep. This model replaced my 2011 MacBook Pro, and I noticed a significant weight difference between the two.

The 15inch is worth the extra money as it is a completely different machine than the 13in. I wasn’t sure about the touch bar, but use it all the time now that I am used to it. The only con is that it requires all new dongles since it has gone to USB C. I also wish the magnetic connection on the power port had been continued-it’s the little things.

I upgraded to this from a mid-2012 MacBook Pro. The difference in speed is a game changer for me. I am able to start up and start running my apps in seconds instead of minutes. Plus, the retina screen is so nice and crisp that I don't mind using it away from my widescreen monitor if I am working remote. The overall build of the machine feels like it has more strength as well. I didn't think I needed or would have wanted the touch bar... Now, after a few weeks, I am using it intuitively and love the addition to my workflow.

I upgraded to this laptop from my core2duo MacBook Pro from 2009. Wow! What a difference! It runs so smoothly and makes quick work of my Photoshop projects. The 4gb of vram helps enormously with video projects in Davinci Resolve. While I can't believe I put off this upgrade for so long, it is really nice to have the latest model. I was skeptical about the touch bar BUT it has been much more useful than I anticipated. I have enjoyed discovering its adaptive behavior in different applications and it has certainly proven its worth.

I've been a long time macbook user, and this machine is by far the best they have released yet. Some noticeable changes for me: -Battery isn't as good as previous gen, but holds up really well with the day to day. Still a good battery overall. -Trackpad became much larger, and force touch was interesting, but ultimately it works smoothly -Touch bar, I honestly thought it was silly at first. But it has turned out to be very useful. From quick look to changing the color on the words, it has been fun to play with. Touch id works quick. Overall, I would recommend it. Well made and handles the heavy work load I give it well. As a side note, I purchased this open box-certified excellent. Opened up to see a filthy shell, and residue left on the keyboard. For the price, Best Buy should have done a better job. Customer service was great however.

I was a little hesitant on purchasing a new MacBook since mine was only a year old; I needed a new one so I figured why not. The keyboard is different; feels nice when typing. The larger touchpad is actually a benefit with greater mobility. I just turned of touch-to-tap and I haven't had a singe issue. The touch bar is much more useful then I thought it would be.

Impressed with the performance. Buitiful screen. Lite weight. Not giving 5 stars because of keyboard. With this price tag no one expects this keyboard. Touch bar is nice but removing function keys is not acceptable. Touch pad works perfectly.

Although I am an Apple fanboy to some extent, I was pretty critical about some of the changes made. I’ve had mine for a week now and I’m hooked! Great performance, sleek design, and outstanding quality. The USB-C change was my biggest worry but third parties are slowly jumping aboard and it is nice to charge/sync/run displays all from whichever port you like.

Bought this for my daughter. She had a Mac Air from 4-5 years ago and the memory was filled to capacity. She in interested in making and editing videos and wanted the ProCut X software from Apple. She now has both and she loves the speed of the new laptop. It has wonderful graphics and video output. Crisp colorful screen. The toolbar is amazing and very helpful. The speakers are loud and have good sound quality. I only wish they had made it into a touchscreen.

Purchased to replace a 5 year old MacBook Pro Retina 15”. So far so good. The touch bar is novelty but thus far I haven’t found it life changing. The keyboard feels so different compared to my previous laptop. Not necessarily better or worse, just noticeably different feel. Booting time is about the same or it might even be slightly slower than my previous 2012 model. Overall it is a great laptop. Where I do notice the performance improvement is when working with photo/video applications. It handles full frame raw photos and 4K video with ease.

i had an IPhone and Ipad but windows laptop. since now have to also support some mac users at work, decided to get one for myself. I am glad i did. still learning, but so far find it fast and easy to use. i have Parrallels loaded on it as well so i can do windows things as well. it runs much better than my windows laptop did. only thing i don't like is that i had to buy a hub so can hook up USB devices to it. over all a great laptop

This thing has some power!! I upgraded to this from a MacBook Pro 2010 model with an i5 processor, and the differences are significant. I'm a student who runs big software programs, and this new MacBook runs all of my programs very quickly. I've had no problems with heat (I haven't even heard a fan turn on). Graphics are nice, sound is pristine, touch bar is actually useful. I would advise against relying on Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, and I suggest going with the Microsoft Office programs. Numbers is actually pretty useless in comparison to Excel. This thing cost an arm and a leg, but it is worth it to someone like me who needs the horsepower to do some real computing.
