Ok so if your reading this then your obviously either in the market for a new laptop or just purchased one but not liking the performance and thinking about returning it for a better one.
Look no further. This laptop has it all when it comes to power, style, flexibility, screen size and brightness and battery life.
I9 8 core processor with another 8 logical cores is like having 16 cores of Ferrari like speed.
Great memory 16gb is plenty unless you plan to do really heavy video editing etc maybe upgrade to 32gb but 16 should do the job even if you plan to game some on it.
Ssd hard drive.. Now alot of people don't know there is multiple different types of ssd drives in laptops and desktops. 1. Is your standard ssd that plugs into a serial ata data port on the mother board. 2. Is the pci express kind that plugs directly into your pci express of the motherboard. This apple laptop comes with number 2! It's called a nvme ssd drive. Basically eliminates the bottleneck of slow data reads and writes. Its super fast!
Now 1 down side to this laptop is it only comes with 4 ports on it. Yes only 4! All 4 is thunderbolt ports aka the new USB standard. You will NEED USB adapters that convert the thunderbolt to standard USB if you have certain devices you like to plug into your laptop like lets say a USB thumb drive, USB mouse etc. I recommend grabbing a 6 in 1 or 4 in 1 dingle that will plug into 1 port and give you 6 different ports on the other end for lets say hdmi, ethernet , standard USB etc.
Remember this laptop has no ethernet ports, hdmi ports or any port whatsoever other then the 4 thunderbolt ports one of which you use to charge the laptop.
Other than the ports thing I talked about this laptop is a beast. Super fast, great design, light enough and great keyboard.
Also there is a thing called bootcamp where if for some reason you need windows you can partition the drive in this macbook and install a full windows 10 installation as well. All you do is download windows 10 iso file from Microsoft website and put it into the bootcamp program in Mac and pick the size you wish the drive to be for windows and boom it installs fast and now you have the best of both worlds mac and windows in 1 laptop!
I highly recommend this laptop for anyone who has the money for it. Its future proofed for the next 5 years easy.
Hope this helps
O ps. Bestbuy gives NO POINT rewards for purchasing apple products like this unless you use a bestbuy credit card. Wish I would of known that before buying this with my debit card as I spent 2600 and got no reward points for the purchase!

Worst investment ever my 2015 macbook runs MUCH better than this 16" i9 wouldn't recommend buying if you do ant type of video/audio editing this has to be one of apples problem Childs runs full throttle through any type of editing SMH cant return because its been over 15 days was waiting for more equipment so i could complete my home studio never put it to work until after return policy was exceeded jokes on me should have done more research on this although mac usually speaks for itself what a disappointment... Cant believe apple would not recall this 2800.00 macbook pro

The laptop clearly wasn’t fully tested (Geek Squad Certified), and suffered from boot issues when waking the laptop from sleep. Unacceptable for the cost of the product.
Thankfully there was a no questions asked return.

Finally made the switch to Mac I loved the system but didn’t like how I had to learn all the shortcuts some where same as windows so it wasn’t bad overall experience was great but I hated that I had to buy so many dongles and double clicking didn’t work. I had to press open every time so annoying or I didn’t know how to open files not sure what it was.
Pros: fast, quiet, nice screen size, battery life, loud speakers def. best speakers on laptop
Cons: sucks at gaming fans are loud and price oh to many dongles, FaceTime camera sucks so outdated
So pretty much if your not a pro user don’t buy this stick to MacBook Air which is probably get next

This item has blown me away with its ease of use and the touch bar adds an excellent addition to that. It is fast and responsive and the screen size is just right for a laptop. It is slime and not heavy so that you do not feel the need to go to the gym and build up your muscles just to carry it around. The SSD drive is fast and it boots up with hardly any issues. I would recommend this Laptop for those who want a MacBook Pro but do not want to break the bank with the newer models.

I've been on Apple forever, Laptops for 10 years.
I like the bigger screen, the touch bar I am getting used to.
It took some doing to get around the new USB3 and connecting that to my audio hardware, but that got done.
The computer is fast, TB HD is great for me.
Catalina is a bit of a deal, I had to upgrade some software and one of my audio interfaces, will not work with the next system upgrade.
Display is great and the speakers are a huge step up from previous.
great for music production and portable to take to the gigs.
I like it a lot.

MacBook Pro 16" has been a joy to use

A month or so back when I tried to close the lid on my 5-year old MacBook Pro 15" (mid-2015), I discovered it had a "swollen" battery. Being self-employed my work has me on my computer pretty much all day and especially since COVID-19. So, I decided to send it in for repair, while also making the move to a new MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) which I purchased at BB.
I didn't expect to feel a big difference, however, I'm really enjoying having the larger screen on this new MBP (without any added overall size or weight when I have to travel) and higher resolution (to compliment my 2nd 28" monitor). I also feel and appreciate the additional speed and response. Also finding out the internal mic and built-in speakers are a very nice upgrade for all the Zoom calls I’m on now (and noticeably nicer to listen to music on). Much of my typing is done using a separate Bluetooth keyboard and Magic Track Pad, so I have not really experienced the new MBP's kb and MTP much. I am however appreciating the new Touch Bar and amazed at how quickly it adjusts to my context as I switch between typing and swiping. Using fingerprint recognition in lieu of typing a pw is still something I'm getting used to, but it works without any issues.
All-in-all I'm very pleased with the decision to go ahead and upgrade to the new MBP 16" mid-2019 and with the price (savings) I got from BB. In the meantime, my wife is enjoying having the repaired MacBook Pro 15" to work on. It is still an awesome laptop and I like having it nearby as a very nice backup to my new MacBook Pro (16”, mid-2019) if something happens. It is now time to retire her old MacBook Pro 15" mid-2010.

Screaming fast laptop!

Needed a new computer as my 11 year old PC finally bit the dust. I use high end MacBook Pros at work and decided to bite the bullet and get a high end laptop. I must say, this is one fine, screaming fast laptop! It's much lighter and thinner than the 2012 model I'm using now at work and the screen is absolutely amazing. The touch bar is something I thought would be a novelty, but I use it all the time. The touchpad is HUGE and works very well with just about any gesture I want to use. The things I don't like are the loss of the many various connection inputs that came with previous versions of the MacBook Pro. Everything is now connected by USB C so be prepared to buy several adapters and hubs to connect peripherals you already own. I bought a Hyperdrive Duo 7 port hub that has most of the connections I need, but it's not like having the connection inputs native on the computer. If you buy this laptop, go ahead and buy the hub you need. We'll see if this laptop is built as well and lasts as long as the 2012 version I'm still using. I hope it does. It is definitely a speed demon and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Though, when you think about, it should last and long time for what you pay for it. With tax and 3 years of Apple Care the price is over 3 grand.

The display is big and amazing. The speakers are something you should listen to. Someone said HomePod stuffed into a laptop, not quite but pretty close, great surround effect without the weird echo. Fast as you’d expect, day to day tasks seem like other modern Macbooks, throw something processor intensive and this begins to pull away. Excellent build, charges quickly, depending on what you are doing, this has all day battery. Customize the touch bar and it’s handy, have do not disturb as opposed to siri, and the volume becomes incredibly intuitive to use. Didn’t think I would actually like the touch bar, but it’s convenient to have. Updates to this are like a side of ice cream to go with cake and ice cream already. Would recommend to anyone looking for a larger display/work area, this does not disappoint.

Great Computer with some issues

For the most part, this is a great computer. I haven't had any major issues with it since buying it in January. But there are things that could be better. The monitor and speakers are great and I have been able to run all of my programs (including photo and audio editing) much faster than my previous laptops. But the problems are definitely irritating. First, for the love of all things holy and unholy, put at least 1 standard USB on the computer. Just because Apple is switching over to USB C doesn't mean that any other company is. Unless Apple is going to start providing all of the peripheral pieces that could possibly be needed, you now have to purchase an adapter and carry another item around with you. And even if they started making all the peripherals, then it would mean replacing perfectly good items just to fit in with what Apple says you have to have. Second, the fan. Oh, the fan. My husband uses this for his voice acting. That is, when the fan isn't blowing on high because it is overheating for absolutely no reason. It is loud enough to be heard in an entirely different room of the house.

Purchased this to replace my trusty 2009 MacBook Pro. The 2019 model does not disappoint. The laptop is super light weight and holds an insane 10 hour charge! The upgraded i9 processor speeds allow me to run my music production software along with all the necessary plugins required for mixing without slowing a bit! These things are incredibly expensive however and the lack of variety in ports create an additional expense (buying all the compatible dongles).

I converted to Mac about 8 years ago from Windows and never went back. I have iMac, MacBook Air and MacBook. I spent a lot of money, as you can see, with Apple products. I have iPad, iPhone and iWatch as well. One of the best features of Mac product is always the clarity of the picture. I compare pictures from Windows PC and Mac, and there is just not a word that can describe how much better they are on Mac. Basically, Mac is a better machine for people who works a lot of with picture or graphic. This is the first Mac that I own that has a touch bar. I don't know how necessary the touch bar, but it's a fun feature to use. Even while you are typing, it gives a prediction and/or spelling of the words that you are typing. It also display common features you use. I have the 16 GB memory with 1 TB drive. I recommend that if you plan to get one that you get at least 500 GB drive. I know it's more expensive, but it's not easy or possible impossible to upgrade the hard drive, Or you can also use an external hard drive. My external hard drive however, looses the connection every time my Mac goes to sleep. The nice thing about this one, is that I can just force eject them and unplug the hub, which I can't do with my MacBook. I hesitate to give it 5 stars because I don't think the battery on any MacBook is that great but it's also maybe because I have a lot of apps with notification turned on, which will drain the battery faster. Another issue that I run is that sometimes the computer gets pretty warm. Oh also, the sound on this new MacBook Pro is excellent. Lastly, Mac product is usually a solid one. I never had any issues with my iPad, iPhone or my iwatch. But Mac computer and laptop occasionally have issues. And the cost to fix it is not cheap. So, if you have the budget for it, I highly recommend to have the Apple Care with it.

Excellent upgrade

This is a great upgrade from the 15.4" model. Going up to 16" may not sound like a big deal, but the smaller bezel and the addt'l real estate makes for a much more immersive experience albeit with the penalty of a heavier and bulkier laptop. The screen is excellent (on par with other recent MBPs). The keyboard is definitely improved, with more travel and a better overall feel. The keys no longer feel "flat" and clacky. The speakers and mic are a huge improvement. I'm very impressed with the depth of sound from 10 to 80%; once you get above 80% volume a little distortion starts to creep out.
This 1 TB model seems to be the price sweet spot. Start adding more memory or hdd space, and the price can skyrocket. This model runs Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro without a hitch. The body of the laptop (including the touch pad) stay noticeably cooler than my 13" MBP.
Overall, this is a nice laptop. I still do think, however, that the Microsoft Surface line overall is a better value. At nearly $3,000, it's kind of hard to understand what you're getting. I think the answer is that the high price tag is the price of being in the Apple ecosystem; almost like an access fee.
If you love the Apple ecosystem OS X, then this is a great laptop. Not exactly a great travel companion due to the heft, but fine around the house, the office, or around town.

Great screen, fast processing speed, and durable. I mainly use it as a desktop, but sometimes take it out. It's a little heavy to carry, but the largeness of the screen and the ease of use (mainly fast processing speed) makes it worth it. Excellent piece of equipment I hope to use for many more years to come.
