I have been in the market for a while now wanting to buy a new laptop. I was searching cheap ones but I was so tired of them always breaking but I didn't want to go so expensive because it was out of my budget. Well this Black Friday I saw this laptop go on sale for $949.00 and I had to get it. I knew buying through Best Buy I was going to get the same product as I would from Apple but $200 cheaper! I love everything about it! The FaceTime camera is AMAZING, I've had nothing wrong with performance, and the screen is so clear.. I really have nothing negative to say. Everything about the MacBook Pro is spectacular! If you're in the market for a new laptop and worried about the price DON'T! It is well worth the extra hundred dollars for a great, durable, and reliable laptop! You can never go wrong with a MacBook!

I love my Macbook Pro. This computer is so easy to use and set up. It has an amazing screen, amazing speed and performance. Love the lighted key board. A lot of people think that these are too expensive and just like a PC and why spend so much when you can get a PC so much cheaper? Well let me tell you that this computer is 1,000,000 times better than a PC. if you have pictures, music, or video's on your PC it starts to run slow. i downloaded all the same off of my PC on to my Macbook Pro and it didn't slow it up at all. To put in a short way to where i don't write an entire book on here on why you should get it and how good it is and how much better than a PC it is let me say this. This is the last laptop that you will have to buy. I use to have to get a new PC every few years just because it wore out but i know my mom has had a Macbook Pro before i got mine and well i have gone through 5 PC's since she has had her one Macbook Pro. Yes like i said it is more expensive than a PC but it is because you are getting such a better and higher quality product.

This is a great laptop. It was hard for me to switch to an Apple product and I have no complaints making the switch. This laptop is perfect for students and for personal home use. Highly recommend this Apple product if you have a student who needs something portable and light to get around school.

I needed a reliable computer for school and this macbook pro is perfect for that! I'm super happy with this computer. It's pretty easy to use and I'm still learning more and more how to use it but I'm a computer novice and it takes me a second to figure out electronics. I would recommend this computer to anyone!

This is a fantastic laptop with the added ports it exceeds expectations at all turns. The laptop is a fantastic buy at the BestBuy price. This is another example of the outstanding performance and reliability everyone has come to expect from Apple. I can not think of a better product for college students and all students for that matter. This laptop features the latest technology and all of the outstanding software that Apple has to offer. The screen is fantastic and the processor speed is excellent. This product would be a wonderful addition to the backpack of any student and features the best operating system in the world. The MacBook Pro continues to be the best choice in laptop computers today.

This computer is wonderful. I switched over from Windows with surprising ease. It's easy to use, appealing to the eye, and obviously well made. I was looking to invest in a computer to last me a while and I think I made a great choice.

Nice sized Retina display, long battery life, optical superdrive, blue tooth--this laptop does it all and does it very well. I have never owned a Mac before, so I was apprehensive about making the transition. The step-by-step instructions that came with this machine made the transition easy. So far, this machine seems fairly durable--solidly built--though it does still have the spinning hard-drive. The solid-state hard-drive would have been nice, but it is much more expensive and those newer machines don't come with an integral superdrive.

I like this mac book, only because is smaller than the old HP I had, so far I had been trying to learn how to use all the features, since I never used a Mac system before but I think I didn't have to spend so much money in a laptop like this one, because so far is been just like other more affordable ones I had in the past, I guess it depends what are you going to be using the computer for , but in my case, I just wasted extra money and I got more inclined in the market pressure about, Everybody wants to have Apple products now, so yes Apple, I will give an excellent grading in marketing your products and creating an incredible demand for your name.

I usually buy HP computers, but I wanted an Apple because it is noted for being better for artists. I haven't fully figured out everything on the computer but it seems easy to use. Also it is lightweight and easy to carry around.

This was something I had wanted for a long time,. I asked for it for my high school graduation and it has been great for a college student. It is light weight and small enough to carry in a backpack or in a tote bag. It comes installed with everything I have needed for classes so far.

im so happy with the purchase of this product. i had been wanting a mac for a really long time and finally went to go get one. i ended up getting it discounted bc the box was open. its a great computer; easy to use, lightweight, and when i take on my photography endeavor it'll be most helpful

I purchased this during the black friday sales. certainly not going to find a lower price on a MacBook like this anywhere else. Despite being an older model, it runs exceptionally fast, the battery life is very good and the bonus of having a disc port is tough to find these days.

i used to only use windows laptops/computers and those to me were terrible. i went to best buy and i saw that this macbook was on sale so i purchased it and i could not be more happy than i am. this laptop is so fast and it has a nice sleek design and everything about it is just perfect.

Have owned a number of Apple laptops and desktop computers, but this one is by far my favorite. The performance is outstanding, the construction is solid, and I expect this laptop will last for a number of years. This was, however, my first time buying one from someplace other than the Apple store. I was reluctant at first, but found the best by staff to be as knowledgeable and helpful, if not more so, than the folks from Apple.

As a recent college graduate I needed a laptop for my personal and professional career. All my life I was a windows guy but after some experience with my friends mac I decided it was time to change and try something new. I will tell you I made the best decision ever. My macbook pro is so much faster and smoother than my old pc. It runs office 2011 which is kind of old but still it keeps up to date with all thee new features from office 2013 available for pc. Don't let yourself hesitate in buying this laptop because of the compatibility issues. Trust me, 95% of the programs out there are now available for both windows and mac OS. I'm delighted with the product and actually it is physically more attractive than any other laptop out there if you take that into account.

This is my first Mac purchase. I went to the store to buy a laptop for my daughter to take to college. I was looking for a windows laptop, since that's what I currently have and am familiar with. The salesman talked us into the Mac. After I got over the shock of the price, I agreed. It really is a nice laptop, very easy to setup, long battery life and fast. It took a few minutes to get used to some of the differences, but so far it's worth it. And it's light, a lot lighter then the two windows laptops that we have. In all I'm pleased with the purchase. And I've been told it will last her thru four years of college and then some. I would definitely buy another one

I tried a windows 8 laptop and returned it quickly. You simply can't beat the ease of use and reliability of Apple. Hate loading drivers and installing setup disks? Buy a Mac!

Why I bought a Macbook: I bought a Macbook Pro because of Windows 8 as well as the low quality of hardware that comprises most laptop PCs. This machine replaced a Windows 7 laptop that suffered major hardware failure after only 23 months of gentle use. Fortunately I had a full replacement warranty on this unit. Windows 8 is virtually unusable for my purposes, as are tablet computers. I need a full laptop with a real keyboard, built-in CD/DVD ROM reader/writer, USB ports, an OS that supports my applications, etc. After seeing how virtually every laptop PC was loaded with Windows 8, and was very cheaply built, I was thoroughly disgusted and considered other options. Most Mac laptops I have seen have been in service for a number of years and are still running strong. That, and the features of the new Macbooks, convinced me to pay the extra money and go with an Apple. I also use LINUX, and by using VirtualBox or Parallels software, I can run LINUX in a virtual machine within the Mac OS. This has proven to be the best of both worlds. it should also be mentioned that if one needs Windows 7 for certain tasks, Windows 7 can be run in a virtual machine using Parallels, just as was done with LINUX. By going with an Apple Macbook and using virtual machines for certain applications not normally supported in Mac OS, I have avoided the pitfalls of a regular laptop PC. Pros: The machine is light in weight, thin, yet feels solid when you handle it. The keyboard has a very good tactile feel; the keys don't make that cheap plastic "scrunch" that many PCs do. Visually, the machine has a very neat, clean appearance and features a beautiful, bright, sharp display. I like the fact the keyboard keys light up so they can be seen int he dark. The brightness of both the screen and keyboard backlights are user adjustable. Despite the machine's thin form factor and light weight, it sports an internal CD/DVD writer drive. I can write optical discs, watch DVD movies, play music CDs, etc. The built-in speakers provide average sound quality for a laptop computer; a headphone jack provides excellent quality sound to headphones or an external amplifier. Cons: The main things I don't like about Apple is their pricing structure (at $1100, it was a pretty severe budget buster for me!) and the lack of documentation on their hardware. Also, as with Windows, you will need antivirus software for your Macbook. Wi-Fi connections can be a bit troublesome to set up if you are new to Mac OS. You will definitely want to do some Google searches on how to set up Wi-Fi on a Mac before you get started. Apple's own instructions focus on how to make the Macbook connect to an "Airport" access point. But rest assured you can also connect to ANY Wi-Fi access point that adheres to 802.11b or 802.11g standards. Having been a veteran of Windows since the days of Windows 3.1, and LINUX since 1999, Mac-OS has presented somewhat of a learning curve. But I have quickly come up to speed on most things I need to do. In Conclusion: So far, I am quite happy with my Macbook, would do it again, and recommend this to most people who need a full laptop computer. Indeed, this Macbook does most of the things I can do on my dual-boot desktop machine. Hope this review helps someone.

I needed a laptop with a CD-DVD drive/burner, and I wanted an Apple product. The price was right and the processor was fast enough and the storage was good, too. I bought two 4mb memory modules to upgrade to the max for this model and am quite happy with my MacBook Pro.
