The laptop's lightweight and super sleek design allow it to be carried in a backpack comfortably along with textbooks and notebooks. Its super fast and the battery lasts a full day of classes and then some. I definitely love the battery life on it and would recommend it to other students.

So easy to operate. lightweight and so much faster than my original Macbook because it does not have a CD rom. But if you really need one, they sell external CD roms for a reasonable price. so worth it just for the speed!

I was not satisfied in the use of this product for cleaning my laptop keyboard. This product is good for quick uses in that the air begins to freeze very quickly when using it.

This is my first laptop and first Mac, so all I can compare it with are home and work Windows PCs. But it's better than all of them! I use AutoCRUD (in joke), so I need a beefed up PC. This MacBook Pro is fast, quiet with the solid-state drive, the display is amazing! Wasn't sure if I would like touchpad computing, but this pressure-sensitive pad is really easy to use and supports cool gestures. Good speaker sound, great battery life, and it feels good, unlike some of the more plasticy laptops. Great peripheral support with multiple USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt 2 ports (haven't used Thunderbolt yet) and a cool magnetic power connection. Pretty neat software in Yosemite, too, and I've already downloaded a couple apps from the Mac store, everything is working great. Took about 5 seconds each to connect a network printer, a Bluetooth speaker and a handheld GPSr, much easier OS to work with than Windows, although it's taking a while to learn new keyboard shortcuts and such. After decades of Windows I think I've become a Mac fan! Best Buy had the lowest price, too, and their salesman was first-rate. One of the best purchases ever for me. It's some sweet hardware!

The laptop is faster then my 2012 Mac Mini 2.2GHz Core i7 in single threaded processes but slower in multithreaded processes. In general use case the speed difference is not noticeable. The display is a joy to use. The speakers sound very nice. The keyboard is great as always with MacBooks. The new track pad is a worthy upgrade over the previous trackpad that's previously the best track pad on the market. The battery life is fantastic when not playing games. I was able to play Civilization 5 on battery for a hair over 1 hour from a full charge which is pretty decent. This is in my opinion the ultimate ultra book.

Spend the money and buy something that will last. Don't buy the MacBook Air, you'll hate yourself for it if you ever see it next to a pro with Retina display. Don't buy the new MacBook unless you absolutely need something as light as possible, and you understand you'll be sacrificing significant power. Office 2016 (currently in beta) is nearing perfection. And as has been the case since Apple started using Intel chips, you can run Windows on this computer if that's your preference. Best computer hardware in the world, hands down. This particular model is the best value. For more power, the two 15" models are both great options, but this is hands down the best value in 13".

I am a huge fan of Apple products, but I found this one a bit disappointing. The build quality and ease of use is the best in the industry, but I'm not sure I can enthusiastically recommend this one. 1. If you're trying to do anything but simple work (say a bit of writing, web surfing and a small spreadsheet), this product is great. But if you're getting into graphics for photo or film editing, serious gaming, or anything beyond casual stuff, this product is rather weak. Part of the issue is that the graphics card is shared by the processor, so once you get anything that puts strain on it, the computer starts slowing down. 2. Too little RAM. A proper Mac OS X requires 16GB these days. 8 is ridiculously small. And because it's a Mac Book Pro, you cannot add memory as you used to do it. 3. Retina screen is great, but getting the best resolution requires some serious smaller print on your screen. I'm OK with that, because I have relatively good vision, but I can see people complaining. When I look at this product I thought that it was a better choice than the MacBook Air. Now, I'm not so sure. I'd order a similarly specked MacBook Air, and get equal performance (except for Retina display) at a lower price.

If you are looking for a great computer that is fast, easy to use and works perfectly, then just buy this one. Simple set-up, incredible picture and long battery life. Charges fast and will last all day. Exceeded my expectations as this was much lighter and thinner than my old Mac Book.

From 2011-2015, I had the 13.3" MacBook Pro with 500GB hard-drive storage. That comptuer had a major failure (not Apple-related) and had to be replaced. I loved the dependability of the MacBook Pro design and built-to-survive unibody, but I was also entranced by the new MacBook with USB-C. I decided to go with the new MacBook Pro 13.3" with 128GB flash storage, and moved all music, movies, and photos on to my credit card-sized Seagate 1TB external memory storage. I'm never looking back! I'm glad I went with the Pro vs. the new MacBook -- didn't want to sacrifice power for a sleeker, marketplace-friendly design (not to mention that switching to USB-C pretty much requires at least $100 in accessories to use your display port adapter and USB flash storage units). This new computer is so fast, and the retina display is incredible for movies. I've had it about a month, and couldn't be happier. MacBook Pro is always worth the money!

Best Purchase I Have Ever Made

All of my life I've only ever used a PC but switching to Mac was the best decision I could have ever made! I needed a new computer for school because my old one was starting to become slow and it was a little bulky to carry around since I'm a commuter. After months of research, and saving, I decided to buy the Macbook Pro. It is so fast and easy to use! Another factor in the buying process was the retina display. As a photographer, I need to make sure that the way it looks on the screen, is the way it will print. I've noticed such a difference in my photos since making the switch.

If you're looking for a fast, slim, reliable laptop this is it. The retina-display feature is great. It is highly portable, sleek and easy to use even for someone like me, who's always used a PC. All Macs have one major problem, though--the charger. Their chargers break very easily, so if you don't want to keep paying $70 for an original or to buy a knockoff, treat you charger with care and maybe invest in a metal/plastic protector for the sensitive areas (the portion of cable that goes into the laptop and the portion that goes into the power adapter).

I recently purchased the MacBook after deciding I was sick of wasting money on cheaper laptops when I could just pay the money for a better quality. All of my electronics I use are Apple products and it was so easy to link them all together. I am a student, but I also enjoy photography. This MacBook does everything I need it for. I got the retina display and truly do notice a difference! The battery life amazes me! It is not cumbersome to carry. Other than learning the shortcut keys, since they are different from a Windows platform, this laptop was simple and easy to get used to! I am so happy I finally spent the money and got this computer!!

I debated between this MacBook Pro 13 inch with retina, the new 12 inch MacBook, a 13 inch MacBook Air, a surface book, and several other 13 inch Windows 2-in-1 laptops. my concern was all the windows laptops had the newer sixth generation skylake processors while Apple was still on the fifth generation broadwell processors. I came back to Best Buy four times before deciding I wanted an apple. the pro was so much faster than the 12 inch and air. I love how the battery lasts forever! I can charge it to 100%, use it for a bit then just close the lid without having to shut it down and open it the next day to find it only went down to 98%. it boots right up without any wait just like using an iPad. I love this thing!! doesn't make any sounds at all. couldn't even tell it's on. it's so lightweight and it's beautiful.

I was a little worried about purchasing open box, especially with a purchase this large, but I'm glad I did. If you can, go with Geek certified. You can save at least $100 and it's still an excellent product. About the Macbook Pro though... It's great! I have a standard Macbook from 2008 as well, but the display was ruined. This one is amazing. It has Retina display, the keyboard lights up. It's a nice, lightweight computer with the option of downloading apps like Keynote, Pages, iMovie, iPhoto, etc. So if you don't necessarily want all of them, you don't have to download them. If you want a disc drive, you will have to purchase separately because this doesn't come with it. You might also want to invest in an external hard-drive because this only has 128gb of flash storage. Another feature I love is the HDMI and SD card ports. I can watch Netflix and whatever video I want directly from my laptop to my TV--no special adapter required. I'm a Mac user through and through, and could not recommend their products more. It may take time getting used to the Mac OSX, but it is actually pretty user friendly. It's easier to learn than Microsoft, in my opinion. All in all, it was so worth it.

This has been the best laptop purchase I've ever made. If you're looking for something fast and easy to use then Apple MacBook is the way to go. At first I was a little nervous because I've used Windows programs for like, ever, but the OS program is just as easy, if not even more so. I would say that the newer MacBooks do not bring a CD drive, you would have to purchase an external one if used often. Also, the storage on this is perfect for light usage, but if you're someone who takes lots of pictures and videos, then I would go with a higher storage or an external drive.

I bought my first MacBook Pro in 2005 and it actually is still alive and kicking. They are just built to last. This model is light, doesn't get hot to the touch, and isn't noisy at all. I thought I'd miss having a huge internal hard drive but I picked up a portable 2TB external hard drive and it's a perfect set up. I also thought I'd miss having an DVD optical drive. Nope. The retina display is beautiful. I've watched 1080p quality movies on it and they look fantastic. I use it mainly for school and its size and weight make it very portable, yet it still packs a punch. Buy it!

I bought a macbook air in 2011 and became enamored with apple laptops. The MBA is ultra-light, very powerful, long battery life, and goes to sleep when you close the lid and wakes up almost instantly when you open it. Love it. Then I heard about the MacBook Pro-- similar to the MBA, but a more powerful processor (2.7gh v. 1.5gh), better trackpad, longer battery, retina display, and more ports, including HDMI. I purchased it in August and have been using it for several months. The graphics are better, particularly when viewing high resolution items. The processor is very powerful. My only caveat relative to the MBA is that it's slightly heavier-- about 3.48 lbs vs. 2.96 for mba. Overall, it's a great laptop!

This was my first Macbook purchase. I've been a PC guy for years and it came time to replace my 5 year-old HP. I went with the Macbook Pro because I wanted the higher performance of 8GB of RAM and the 128 GB solid state hard drive. Oh, and the Micro SD slot is a nice feature (I wish my iPhone and iPad had this!). I took advantage of a couple of discounts that brought the price down closer to the affordable level. With the discounts, I could not find any retailer that could beat the price that I paid. Best Buy is finally getting competitive in their pricing, at least that is what I am noticing. This laptop is well made. The aluminum? body can take moving around and there is hardly any heat emitted during the operation. And no noise! The lighted keyboard is great for typing on the couch in lower light. The track pad is the most responsive of any laptop of ever dealt with. The speakers are good sounding, but not great (better than most laptops, though). The weight is fairly light, but if I didn’t want the higher performance, I would have bought the Macbook Air to shave more ounces off. I bought this on Best Buy online and picked it up in the store. This went very well. I was in and out of the store in about 5 minutes. The clerk had the laptop and paperwork ready when I arrived. All I needed was my ID and credit card. This was a very convenient way to purchase, because I could compare features without a sales pitch :-). I've not been disappointed, at all, with this purchase.

Pretty nice laptop although it's pretty expensive. I don't know if it's worth the investment yet, but I've heard great reviews for an this product. I purchased this laptop after my old one failed me and crashed randomly. :( I absolutely hated the fact that I had been replacing my Microsoft laptops every few years on top of the fact that I refused to pay for another Microsoft product(I HATE Windows10!)The fact that Apple is very reliable when it comes to quality, I made a decision to purchase the Mac Book Pro Retina13" It's fast and very light...and the display is awesome!!. Although it sucks that it doesn't come with a built in cd/dvd rom but hey, everything is so technical these days that cd/dvd will eventually have no use in the world. At least im able to connect and sync my iPhone with it easily. (Pretty cool) Overall, I'm still exploring and playing around with this book(the touchpad is so sensitive and complex)
