pros: light easy to use, display is solid. I like the software it came with. it quickly connected and copied things from other apple products. this laptop is fantastic. I'll never go back to PC again. Apple never builds up with junk and slows down like PC's do. Top notch quality and features. Fires right up from turned off in 20 seconds. screen looks amazing, everything loads fast, can't b beat.

Excellent choice for a Mac computer. This model is fast, reliable and extremely lightweight. I would completely recommend if someone is looking for a robust computer that can deliver on demand.

I bought this most recent iteration of the MacBook pro after having the older version of the MacBook Pro for 7 years. This laptop is stellar. It is much lighter and thinner, and it is now possible to get as much memory as you want in flash memory hard drives. It does not have a built in DVD player, but I rarely need one, and I was able to get an external one for about $30. The battery life is great, and it is lightning fast. And it is an Apple MacBook, which I have always considered the best laptop there is! You cannot lose with this laptop!

This works great for my college aged daughter: fast enough to not frustrate, light enough and small enough that it fits in her backpack, and appears sturdy enough to stand up to college rigors.

I bought this laptop with the purpose of being able to edit pictures and videos easily. It has all the memory I will ever need (especially when using with an external hard drive to store old pictures and videos) and I am able to do it anywhere - on the couch while watching TV, in the car while on a road trip, etc. I absolutely love how light it is. I already had owned a Mac Desktop, but am so happy with this laptop that I'm not sure I would ever go back to using a desktop computer!

Like all Macs the OS is consistent and the retina display is great. Clear and sharp images and the battery lasts for ~10 hours of continous use. I am very happy with my Macbook so far

This Macbook Pro is incredible! It runs smoothly, has an amazing display, is easy to operate, has a substantial battery life, and the list could go on and on. If you are in the market for a Macbook Pro, this model will not disappoint!

We looked at many PC's and still came back to the MacBook Pro; this was mainly due to the durability and ease of use of the laptop. It was for my daughter who had a Toshiba laptop prior and she was very hard on that laptop (she did not treat the system poorly), the plastic casing started to split, and the keypad/board had lifted and had to be taped down, finally when the screen cracked she had to replace it. So first priority was a solid unit that was built well and easy to use. I would have given this MacBook system 5 stars, but Apple is very UNKIND on its pricing (EXPENSIVE!!). It is not competitive with HP or the Surface PC laptops, that will offer 4X's the features for less money. But my daughter has an iPhone and the attraction of it being the same brand and quality is why Apple’s MacBook Pro won her over. I would not have chosen this system for myself; however, I still have to give it a good rating for what it is.

This MacBook had incredible processing power and a great retina display. It's extremely fast and the setup was a breeze. I could easily do all the things I need to with simple and intuitive short cuts and user friendly interface.

This laptop is amazing. This was my first apple computer, and I'm sold. Its very quick, reliable and incredibly light. This is probably the best laptop I've ever owned. Some words I would use to describe it: Durable, silent, user friendly. I'm using the laptop for college and it is everything I needed. The only one problem that I've ever run into is a very small one and that is the lack of an optical drive-but I almost never would use it anyway so its not too much of an inconvenience. Love this computer.

I am very pleased with this new MacBook Pro w/ retina. I am a graduate school student so it is nice to have something lighter to carry around, and I like how the new computer is designed. Great product overall!

I have been waiting years to buy a Mac and finally pulled the pin. I absolutely love it!! I had heard that Mac was a little difficult to navigate compared to PC, but I have not found that at all. The touch pad is great, being able to swipe and use your fingers to navigate between pages and scroll is amazing and makes it so enjoyable. I don't know if the screen resolution is that much better than anything else, but I think it's pretty good. Over all, I love the feel of the case, the flash drive is great and takes no time to turn on or off, love the track pad. You won't be disappointed!

My 2011 MBP 15 inch needed a new hard drive so I decided it was time to make a new purchase. The first thing I noticed was how much less storage I would get for the price. After talking to the Best Buy folks I realized the upside of a much lighter laptop. For me it makes a huge difference because I pack a laptop and a 35mm camera. I went with the 512 GB flash storage and I am completely satisfied. I love this computer. The speed, the screen, the weight, everything. Love it.

I bought this machine to replace an 2008 MacBook pro. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of processing power, battery life, and touch pad feel.

I purchased this MacBook to replace my 4 year old HP Dv6 that started running too hot and slowing down. The difference is night and day. My mac is extremely quiet, fast and barely gives off any heat.

I had a macbook pro (not the retina) and it crashed before this, and while this computer is relatively the same as my old Macbook pro, I do think the typing is a lot easier, I LOVE the battery power (3 hours on my old vs about 7-9 hours on this with a lot of activity), boots up super fast, and has had no issues with crashing, has had fast downloads, etc. Pretty well pleased, although I think this was too pricey considering the technology really isn't that different from other technologies on the market. I buy the Mac for its reliability though.
