I just got it this today and it has made it easy to use my iPad like a mini laptop. I had the keyboard for the previous model iPad Pro which of course Apple makes it to where it does not work with a previous model. It does not show in the specs that it illuminates but it does. They keys feel good when I type so I can’t complain.

This accessory is good, but not great. Pros: It is very sturdy and well built (no problem using on an uneven surface). It doubles as a case. The trackpad is great and gestures work great as well. It keeps the iPad locked in via strong magnets and it does not wobble or feel like it will fall off. And it uses the iPad’s smart connector and connects seamlessly and automatically. The keyboard feels great to use when typing (once you get used to a 11 or 12 inch keyboard layout). It keeps the iPad above the keyboard so it’s easier to look at and use than a regular keyboard. Includes a USB-C port so you have your iPads USB-C port free to use for accessories. Cons: This will double the weight of your iPad, easily. No lock mechanism for the Apple Pencil. No function keys or media keys. The adjustability of your iPad is limited to below 145 degrees. The picture shows how far it sits back. For the price (double, or triple the price of third party keyboard cases, there should have been more features. Overall, if you love your iPad like I do, this accessory is worth it for turning the iPad into a better school and work machine. It is still not a computer, but it doesn’t need to be. This is an amazing product if you can afford it, and don’t mind the weight and lack of extra features.

The Magic Keyborad works as advertised. I have a MacBook Air laptop and find I use my IPAD Air with the Magic Keyboard a lot more. It is lighter then a laptop and you can use the touch screen capability of the Ipad Air or the Magic Keyboard. When I do use my MacBook Air laptop, I use the IPAD Air with Majic keyboard as an extended screen. The Majic keyboard, when closed, protects the Ipad Air with its protective cover.

This is a must if you have an Ipad Pro. I use this more than my laptop now, And makes my Ipad function as my goto for when I’m on call. Super portable, light and thin (yet functional) I also love that this connects magnetically so you just pull it off the backing to function as a normal tablet. Expensive but worth it.

Well, maybe "Must Have" is a little much, but I have found the Magic keyboard to be invaluable to me. I find myself using it as a laptop (the iPad Pro 2020 is a powerhouse for my use cases) and a solid case when not in use. It's easy to just take the ipad off of it and just as easy to get it back on. There is a small learning curve due to the size of the keyboard, but once I got used to typing on it, the keys are amazing, and it feels great for long typing sessions when I got used to keys. The lack of function keys don't bother me at all. I can easily reach my hand up and touch screen, use track pad gestures and other keyboard shortcuts to get the intended results. Anyway, I really enjoy this product and think you should make the investment of the smartfolio.

Very sturdy case and keyboard a little pricey and doubles the weight of the iPad witch I am not a big fan. Protects and cover the iPad well. Great for typing and the trackpad is way better then the 2019 MacBook Pros trackpad.

Super easy to use. I like a real keyboard and this one feel like i am using just that. Attaches easy and stays attached. Also provides great protection for my ipad.

Excellent quality and premium feel to be expected from Apple products. Adds a good amount of weight to iPad but still extremely portable and really gives the iPad a laptop feel for productivity. Would absolutely recommend. Only thing is you definitely need two hands to open the keyboard because there are no tabs or slots to pry it open with one hand. Not a deal breaker by any means though. Still a fantastic product. You won’t be disappointed.

Love it! Keeps my iPad safe and secure. Easy to carry and the key pad is great. Easy to clean and very easy to use. Perfect for travel too.

I love this thing. Perfect keyboard, elegant design, additional usb c port. Only drawback is that it’s a bit heavy, but you get used to it fast. Pretty pricey but if you can swing it, you won’t regret it.

This keyboard really makes a difference.!! I highly suggest this as a MUST purchase. It also works as a protector for your iPad. I love how it's easily adjusted and doesn't take up too much space.

Who knew…not me for sure how much I would enjoy the magic keyboard. I love my iPads and must saY this keyboard enhances the experience. I enjoy typing on a traditional keyboard (as I write this review for example) and find having the keyboard makes the experience a lot easier than typing on the IPad screen. It also cuts down on fingerprints on the screen. There is some weight associated with it although not bad so I have to decide if I will take it along when traveling. I have a hunch however that I will find it indispensable and not want to leave it at home. Well done.

Love the Magic Keyboard! While it is costly, it is fantastic for making the iPad into more of a laptop. The mouse is responsive, the lighted keyboard is bright, the charging port is useful and overall, it does not require a charge because the power comes from the iPad itself (unlike other keyboards). Sturdy and solid, I use this to type documents and work on many work forms. But, I have a slimmer portfolio for when I don't need the keyboard. Together, I have two invaluable accessories. Much more accepable than the Smart Folio which had it's limitations.

Turns your ipad into a full blown computer. I use this everyday on my iPad Pro. The full size trackpad and the keys that are such a pleasure to type on are a huge upside. It ca n get scuffed and damaged pretty easily though unfortunately. Also adds a good amount of weight to the ipad. ] You do get an extra usb c port to charge the ipad via the magic keyboard case (power no data only, need to use usb c on iPad for data) This also works with the 4th gen and newer iPad Air if you want to save a few hundred bucks.

I’m using to write this review, and it’s fantastic. I had a Bluetooth keyboard for my old iPad, and this blows it away. It’s like typing on a real laptop, and it actually helps make my new iPad Air a viable laptop replacement. And get this, you never have to charge the Magic Keyboard because it borrows power directly from the iPad! The only two minor downsides with the Magic Keyboard are (1) it’s heavy and (2) it pretty much forces you to use landscape mode all the time. Maybe the next version will be able to pivot to portrait mode.

Easy to use keyboard. Has a nice heft, balances well, keys are easy to use. This isn’t light weight but that makes it more functional. I like the backlighting and you can charge the iPad through the keyboard - this gives you a left and right charging port.

Excellent upgrade from some other major brands that I have purchased in the past. Hesitant b/c of cost, but so much better for applications as reading or following recipes in the kitchen. Is very easy to remove/reattach iPad b/c of a series of strong magnets built inside the cover...snaps right into place.

I love this thing. Honestly everyone likes the easy of use of our laptops but no one ever talks about how heavy carrying a laptop to school is. This is light, it serves as a case for my iPad and it covers all my school needs. I love it

It is really great! I love how the keyboard clicks feel when I'm typung and how the iPad just hooks onto the keyboard. The only thing is that it doesn't open all the way and so when I want to take notes I have to mount it off and take notes with my iPad essentially naked. Its not a huge deal but it would be awesome if Apple could make it so that I could just flip the iPad open and be able to take notes without tkaing it out of the case. Great battery life too!

Keyboard is fantastic. Folds up well and the keys are easy to type on. Pricey and not sure if I will end up keeping as I am not sure I will use it enough to justify price.
