This is the best keyboard I have had and that’s saying lots. I love the adjustable slant to the iPad and rhe ease of using the keyboard. I do miss having the screenshot I had with my last keyboard but this one is so professionally done that my preference for the shortcut keys rather than the tracking pad is almost worth it. I have recommended it to friends who have made the purchase.

Keyboard is fantastic. Folds up well and the keys are easy to type on. Pricey and not sure if I will end up keeping as I am not sure I will use it enough to justify price.

Almost Perfect — Except for One Key Issue

I love the Apple Magic Keyboard for my iPad Pro — it looks sleek, feels premium, and makes typing on the iPad feel like using a real laptop. The backlit keys are super comfortable, and the magnetic connection is strong and smooth. It really elevates the whole iPad experience. BUT… my capitalization key stopped working out of nowhere, which is super frustrating. For something this expensive, I expected a little more reliability. Everything else works flawlessly, but that one key issue (literally) is a pain. Still giving it 4 stars because when it does work, it’s an absolute dream. Just hoping I got a rare dud and not a trend.

    Nice addition to my iPad

Works great - feels almost as nice to type on as my old Surface Book, which this iPad replaced. You can charge both the tablet and the keyboard with the port on the keyboard, and it wakes the tablet when you open it. Sturdy and stable for lap use. My only complaint is that as a Windows user, I always forget Apple's keyboard shortcuts. That's a me problem, not the device's fault.

Got this for my daughter and she loved it. Keyboard works perfect. And it protects the iPad perfectly. Only issue is the price. But what else is new.

I bought this and the Logitech combo. The Logitech was returned. This keyboard case is so much more stable when using it on your lap. The auto backlit keys works flawlessly.. The iPad looks cool as if it is floating above the keyboard. I returned my iPad Pro 3rd gen and bought the LTE 5G version. But i am keeping this keyboard. I am able to open the case with one hand which is very convenient. Not capable on the Logitech. It is worth the extra $100.

Largely depends on how you use your iPad

I bought this because the virtual keyboard takes up too much screen space when on email or excel in landscape mode and I wanted to try a physical keyboard. If you are using this on a desk or table and like using a trackpad, you will find that it is very solid and makes your iPad feel more like a laptop. It's best used as a keyboard dock for people who want to remove the iPad to use without a cover. It's not as good a match for using on your lap. It's less stable, and having the keyboard gets in the way somewhat with you being able to use the touchscreen. As a case, it's heavy and I wouldn't count on this to protect the edges if it's dropped on a hard surface.

Tried the “cheaper” Logitech option first. I did not get on with that and didn’t want to waste any more money on “just as good but cheaper” alternatives that would be a hit or miss - so i bite the bullet and got this case. I LOVE IT and would recommend over other “keyboard case” alternatives. Pros: 1. Great typing experience AND clicking experience (clicking on the logitech keyboard is a nightmare). 2. Great compact “laptop” or laptop replacement for the average (non- creative) user. 3. Sleek and effective over-all design and functionality The Cons: 1. it’s weighted so expect some tumbles if using on lap or bed. 2. the battery life on the whole setup is not get on the go - you have the case and the pen feeding off the ipad. The same setup is always a reason why it’s great when using in one space - one charger to charge them all ** An obvious (bonus) con - price point. I suggest trying the open-box option for some $ off.

This keyboard is expensive, but I got to hand it to Apple on how great the keyboard is to naviagting through apps with gestures on the trackpad. The typing experience is great too and I used it with my iPad Air 5th gen. After using it for months I definitely think it was worth the money. It's not fun typing on a touchscreen so this was perfect!

I love the “feel” of the keys on this keyboard. It attaches seamlessly and magnetically to the top and “floats” over your keyboard. It has a mouse trackpad that is useful, and I find myself using the trackpad more and more. My only negative comment is that it adds some weight to the iPad. Additionally, although not negative, it’s not like previous iPad keyboards that were part of a ‘cover’ - you can’t fold this one back and just use the iPad - I needed to buy an additional cover for when I’m not using the keyboard at a desk. The iPad is lightweight and needs a protective cover if you’re not using the magic keyboard.

Best Keyboard for the usb-c based iPads

I love this thing. It changed the way I use my iPad. It basically turns your iPad into a laptop. Pros: Saves tons of screen real estate by eliminating the on screen keyboard Pass through charger Built in track pad no pairing is needed, it uses a connector (those 3 dots) on the back of the iPad Cons: Price is a bit up there (I was able to get it on sale for 200ish) not able to use in portrait mode doesn't work with another case and you have to remove this if you want to use it as a tablet. Other keyboard cases will fold behind the iPad.

Solid keyboard. Good fit and finish for iPad Pro 11-inch. Good overall protection (the magnets are very strong), but I would keep the iPad in a sleeve while in transit. We all know anything "Apple" comes at a cost and this keyboard/folio combo is no exception. I would be much happier if the cost was $150,00 less (vs. MSRP). Grabbed it while on sale and apply my Best Buy rewards points towards the purchase. Definitely a happy camper for what I paid out of pocket.

Solid Keyboard with a Few Trade-Offs

The Magic Keyboard for the 11-inch iPad is a nice upgrade for anyone looking to boost productivity. The keys feel good to type on, though they are a bit cramped and expected for an 11-inch device. It definitely adds some weight to the iPad Air, which makes it feel less portable, but the build quality is solid. It protects the screen well when closed, and the magnetic attachment feels secure. The adjustable angles are a nice touch, and the trackpad works smoothly. Overall, it’s a good case and keyboard combo, but keep the added weight in mind if you’re looking for something ultra-light.

This keyboard is fantastic! Easy to use right out of the box. Magnet that holds the ipad in place is strong, but not too strong. Adjustable viewing angle is nice, although it could be a bit more flexible. Keys are responsive and the trackpad works great. The ability to charge the ipad via the keyboard is a major benefit as it allows other accessories to be plugged into the USB-C port on the ipad. The price point is so high and thus the reason for the 4 star rating. I purchased the keyboard along with the iPad Air 4 as a laptop replacement and so far I couldn’t be happier with it.

The leather itself is quite good. It took a little bit to get used to the weird angles but it seems to be well thought out instead of just using a normal laptop hinge. Also the suede I the back is really useful to keep your ipad in good condition. I bought this because no other keyboards seemed to work as well but this is great.

Using for iPad Pro 11" first-gen. Haven't used on plane yet so will be curious to see how it handles turbulence. Plus: Touchpad Keyboard USB C port on hinge Cons: Price Heavy Limited angle adjustment (but haven't had issue yet)

The Magic Keyboard is a great purchase! I am typing this review on it now. It just feel so magical to type on this particular keyboard - the feedback on the keys, the key travels is just right plus the backlit keys made a delight to use. However, the one negative thing I have to say about this keyboard is the weight of it - when paired with my iPad Pro, the overall weight is more than the Dell XPS 13 I occasionally use on the side. Overall though, I’d highly recommend this keyboard for the iPad Pro if you do a lot of typing!

It’s pretty nice, i had the one prior to this one the one that sits instead of being high. Would have loved for this to actually sit up higher, i thought it did for some reason, i’ts about one inch higher than the keyboard. Downside is if you want to use the other way, this thing won’t bend backward like the other one, So keyboard stays open the same way unless you close it completely which sucks a little. But it does have a roller pad thingy which the other one doesn’t and lights up. But other than that I mean it’s a keyboard for a tablet. Not sure if it really had too cost That much now c’mon.

On my fifth iPad with keyboards, this Full function concept is long over due and is a great success. Every aspect of the keyboard works as cited in the descriptions on the Best Buy and Apple web pages. The magnet works well and together with the adjustable back offers many incremental positions and angles. The keyboard is very light so working off of a desk or table is easy and not cumbersome. I appreciate the lighted Caps lock feature to help protect against typing in capitals more than intended. Also, the immediate connection between keyboard and iPad and the charging feature save time.
