Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, quality, and design of the Optical Mouse as significant strengths. Many appreciate its compatibility with Apple products and the comfortable feel. However, some users point to issues with battery life, the wired connection, and the scroll wheel's functionality. A shorter-than-ideal cord length was also a recurring concern for some customers.

Wired Mouse: Old School But Hassle Free

This Apple Wired Mouse was on clearance, a great find for the price. I had previously been using wireless mice (Apple, Logitech, etc.) and found that there always seemed to be intermittent irritations with bluetooth connectivity and or dongle connectivity and whatnot. This old school return to wired has been wonderful for me and for the price. This mouse has the little rolly wheel button that is an old favorite from Apple's original wireless Magic Mouse (circa 2004ish). Always loved it and I actually prefer it over Apple's newer smooth surface track mice. Highly recommend if you can still find one in stock. Almost tempted to get a backup.

My second grader has school assignments on a computer already! We did not have an external mouse and he seemed to struggle a bit with the touch pad on our Mac. We are having him use the mouse but plan on slowly moving back to just the touch pad which is why we did not purchase the wireless.

Great mouse for Apple desktop or laptop computer.

I've had laptops before and, maybe being more old-school, I like the option of having a mouse, rather than just the finger pad. I feel it gives me more movability & I'm more easily and quickly able to do things with a mouse - I would say I use a mouse maybe 80% of the time. I find some actions are more difficult and frustrating for me to do just off a finger pad. I also prefer a mouse that plugs into the computer. I, personally, have not had good luck with a wireless mouse - and, I don't have to worry about losing a wireless mouse. I've had the same mouse for my desktop for 7 years now, and it's never failed on me.

Again, satisfied with my new browser. I did appreciate the young lady who helped me find what I needed, and also, her knowledge and wisdom about the different items I asked her about for future reference and possible purchase.

Saved some money with the "opened box" discount on this mouse, and that was fine. It's been working well for me.

I recently replaced my original Apple wired mouse with another wired Apple brand mouse for my iMac desktop computer. I often have trouble finding the right spot on the mouse to click to perform the desired action. If I'm not on the right part of this mouse, I get the options like "open in new window", etc. and it is very difficult to get out of that option. I don't know if other users have experienced this problem, I eventually find the right spot on the mouse, but it is very frustrating. The mouse does work so I can't say it doesn't do its job, just "Buyer beware".

Bought this because its usb & I can use a switcher to flip to and from my iMac and MacBook Pro, for same mouse & keyboard, whereas I can't with Bluetooth.

As I said in my review summery, the Apple mouse is the best. However, the ball gets clogged too easy and stops working in one of the many directions. I've taken it to the Genius Bar and they too described it as getting clogged. It should be perfected and LESS expensive.

Another great Apple product, the scroll "nub" works well, BUT I bought this when I really wanted a wireless version of this mouse, ended up returning this one. Great Best Buy return period!!

Bought this (with necessary connection) for my new MacBook, since I'm hopelessly mouse-oriented for certain functions. This is very comfortable for my hand, and after some minor adjustments, the operation was smooth. Factory setting was too slow.

This basic Apple wired mouse works great with my iMac computer. I bought it to replace a wireless Apple mouse that went bad. It is more reliable than the wireless mouse, which used to disconnect periodically during normal use. My only complaint is the price, even for Apple brand products. $50 for a wired mouse is ridiculous! A piece of simple technology like this should cost around $20-25, no more. I realize I could have bought another brand of USB mouse, but I was working on a project with a deadline and didn't want to encounter any compatibility problems.

I needed a wired mouse to accompany the mac mini. This mouse was recommended by APPLE and worked very well...but what really impressed me was the sleek, attractive look.

the mouse seems cheap. new out of the box, the scroll wheel sounds like it is grinding. Everyone of the devices I have had, and I've had to replace them approx. one every year, fails to scroll up, eventually. they're expensive for no longer than they last, and it's not obvious how to tear it down to repair, if it's possible. it's all that's available for mac so I am forced to keep buying them to operate my mac.

    Slow Tracking

I bought this mouse because I do not like bluetooth devices. They have a certain lag about them that irritates me. I am not a computer gamer but enjoy fast tracking and movement in a mouse. I ended up taking this item back because even with the settings turned all the way up, the mouse moved too slow for me. I selected that I would recommend this to a friend and that is solely based on the fact that I would discuss the needs and expectations with my friends before making a recommendation.

I gave it only 4 stars because it doesn't have a separation between the right and left click. If you don't mind that part, then it would be fine.

Had wireless mouse but battery drain drove me nuts, switched back to corded mouse. Overall it works fine but it used to cause the cursor to jump wildly. Turned out some mouse pads are to blame. But the cord I'd rather short causing me to relocate USB hub to awkward location to plug it in.

My wireless mouse quit working and I opted to purchase the corded mouse, which I actually like better. The cord is quite long and I don't have to constantly replace the wireless mouse with batteries.
